Villas-Boas to assess squad in Malaysia

With three games in four days on their upcoming pre season tour of Malaysia Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has told the BBC he will assess his squad and make his decision on who will stay and who will leave Stamford Bridge before the upcoming Barclays Premier League season.

New Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is adamant that he will give his players the opportunities to show why they should remain at Stamford Bridge on the clubs upcoming pre season tour of Malaysia.

Numerous players are reportedly unhappy at the clubs decision to sack former manager Carlo Ancelotti and that has led to speculation that players like Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel may be looking to leave.

Of course new boss Andre Villas-Boas may decide that other players are surplus to requirements.

The 33 year old cost Chelsea chairman Roman Abramovich a reported £13.3 million, the young manager highly sought after following his stellar season at F.C. Porto where he won the Primeira Liga and the UEFA Europa League.

Now with Chelsea set to face Malaysian clubs Kelantan, Terengganu and Selangor in the space of just four days Villas-Boas will be casting an eagle eye over proceedings, his main tasks to prepare his squad for the upcoming season and also to figure out who figures in his plans and who doesn't.

"These games are very important, not just for the players but for me, I must make sure everyone is prepared both physically and mentally. I need to make decisions very quickly on who I need at the club and see who wants to leave, I must make difficult decisions early in my Chelsea career, but I knew this before I started."

After the clubs tour of Malaysia the Blues will return to London before facing Dutch side Vitesse on the 13th of this month in Arnhem. The club will then embark on a eleven day tour of the United Arab Emirates with fixtures against Al-Ain, Al-Wahda and Dubai arranged. Chelsea kick off their Barclays Premier League campaign with an away trip to Carrow Road to face recently promoted Norwich City on the 13th of August.

This story is going to focus on staying with one team, setting long term goals, and (hopefully) achieving them. My previous story - with ABC in Brazil - ended when I made the mistake of leaving the club and taking a job with Marine in the Blue Square South. I regretted leaving behind all of the progress ABC made and the youngsters we were developing.

Unlike the last story, this one will only be screenshots with updates of monthly fixtures and transfers, etc.

I have already completed my first season with Crewe, in which the board's expectations were to reach a promotion playoff spot. I decided to build the squad with five attributes in mind - teamwork, work rate, determination, passing, and pace.

I let captain Lee Bell go since, based on the 2011 season, I didn't think he could cut it in League One. Ashley Westwood is our new captain. We had Christopher Chantler on loan from Manchester City last year and he was so solid I brought him in on a free transfer. I managed to land Apostolos Vellios on a season long loan from Everton and I expect him to do really well in League One.

American Johann Smith has 18 acceleration and 19 pace, and Mustapha Dumbuya has similar speed numbers.

Crewe have excellent youth facilities, and this fact has shaped my long term goal for the club - promotion to the Premier League in 6-7 years. There are some youngsters here with tons of potential, and I am banking on them to lead us to the top tier in England. Then my game encountered Microsoft Visual C Runtime errors making progress impossible. It seems that FM12's excessive memory demands was too much for my PC (with 4GB RAM) to handle, SI have my save so all might not be lost, but I’m not waiting around on them trying to come up with a fix and have decided to attempt this challenge again with a new save; if the unlikely happens and my old save is fixed I will probably switch back depending on how this save progresses.

Challenge:
Start at any club that is based in Istanbul, Paris, London, Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin or Athens and win the Champion’s League. Rinse and repeat until you have seven Champion’s Leagues on your managerial CV

This is my first game on FM 12 and I'm hoping that I can continue with this file until FM 13 is released, optimistic but here goes.

I have put my past experience as 'Sunday League Footballer' and have decided to start off my managerial tenure at Blue Square Bet North side; Hyde. Don't know to much about them really apart from they aren't too far away from I live and have some sort of link to Manchester City.

We're meant to finish fifteenth but hopefully we can finish above there. However, if my previous FM skills are anything to go by...i'll be sacked by Christmas.

Going OK so far I guess. My first ever competitive match on FM 12 was an absolute winner as we beat Workington in the local goalfest! We got battered by Histon but we did quite well in the rest of the matches.

The previous FM game i played was 2008 and on that i tried to win the Champions League with FC Twente i tried that for about 9 seasons and then i found out your league's reputation doesn't climb and that made it too hard for me.
Now i have switched to FM2012 and they promised me that they have a dynamic league reputation which will allow me to bring glory to the Dutch clubs (again).
My goal is to win the Champions League with three different Dutch clubs and hopefully crank up the reputation of the Eredivisie.

My local team is FC Twente so i will be starting there. The first season will be calm as i have missed some FM editions and will probably need some time to figure out how everything works.

When i take over, Twente have just lost their best two players. Bryan Ruiz to Fulham and Theo Janssen to Ajax. So it would be a good idea to invest in some attacking creativity. Though i have faith in my players (and no faith in my transfer market skills) and won't be looking to make big signings unless i sell.

Not the best of preseasons. The tactic i made did not work at all. I tried to sort out my tactics with "new" tactics maker which didn't really work for me. So after this preseason i changed it. With a little outside help.

After this preseason i lost my best defender. Douglas to Malaga who decided to pay 6,5 million for him. I don't really need the money, but it could give me some flexibility should i come across a really good player. My backup CB, Bengtsson, is more than capable of covering for him.

Davide Timmermans is a free transfer. Rated 3,5 stars by my scouts i decided to go for it. But i don't have really high hopes for the guy. Sorry everyone for keeping on starting new threads but I aim to make this British Steel Challenge last me a very long time. Hopefully I will have enough to complete it. I will be carrying on my Queens Park Rangers story aswell. This challenge seems very exciting to me and I can't wait to start it. The leagues that I have loaded are the English, Scottish, Northern Irish, Irish and Welsh from the lowest leagues possible. I am obviously starting with Sunday League Reputation. The club that I am going to start with is Llanelli in the Welsh Premier Division. Another mini-challenge I have set myself is that I must actually win the league and not either be promoted through play-offs or automatically. Once I have won a League/Trophy it will be highlighted to show I have completed that section.
