Newly promoted German side Hoffenheim have sent shockwaves around german football today as Sky Sports News reveals that they have hired unknown 26year old scotsman Christopher Burns as their new manager.
Burns is said to have played for Glasgow Rangers as a youngster playin in 5 top team matches and was thought to have a great footballing future.
Only for him to be struck down with cruciate ligament damage to his knee, a source close to Burns has revealed that Burns took the decision on himself to retire from football immediately as he didn't think that he could have the best career possible with this injury.
Sky Sports News caught up with Mr Burns today for his first press conference
Reporter: Okay Mr Burns lets get this started then, you sit here as manager of Hoffenheim.
Whats your thoughts and feelings about the job ahead of you?
Mr Burns: Well i have to admit i didn't realise i would be in a job as big as this so soon after completing my A licence coaching badges but i am thoroughly grateful to be given this opportunity, this is a dream come true.
Reporter: You have taken this job without being able to speak german.
Do you think this will have a detrimental effect?
Mr Burns: No, i will be getting to grips with the language straight away and i will be onto big Steffan Klos whom i played alongside at Rangers bugging him for help.
Reporter: So what formation will you be looking to play this season?
Mr Burns: I will be looking for quick, slick passing attacking football.
Reporter: Do you realise you are only Hoffenheim and not Barcelona?
Mr Burns: I do realise that yes, Do you realise your just a dumba** reporter who's been given the donkey work? Thats all bye for now.

Stefan Klos.

Klos in action for Rangers
Christopher Burns: Thanks for coming today ladies and gentlemen.
I will get straight to the point, i have asked you all here to announce a few things first of all.
Mr Stefan Klos here i am very proud to announce will be my no.2 as i wanted to bring in my own assistant manager and Stefan wanted to get into the coaching side of the game.
Secondly i feel that this is a team which could go places giving the right time and effort from everyone in and around the club, i would like to use this opportunity to encourage the supporters to give me and my team time to find our feet so to speak.
I think also that you would like to know of any transfer targets, yes?
Well i can announce that this team will only be signing the best players available, i've already been in touch with a few players who i feel could improve our team significantly; Fabio Cannavaro, Carlos Tevez, Michael Owen, Jerzy Dudek and Stephen Appiah are those players. Unfortunately for us four of those players chose not to sign for us.
I must add those of you who think footballers are only in it for the money must be told that Mr Owen was offered double the money to play for us than the sum he will receive at new club Everton and the same goes for the other three who were also offered more than they will receive at their new clubs.
You must be shouting at me to tell you who we managed to get well my friends.
(signals for the man to come in)
This is our new signing ..... Carlos Tevez, i am very pleased that we managed to get a player of Carlos' stature as he shows the world of our ambition to be the best this year.

My expectations for the season are to be competing for the league, at the very least a Champions League Place.
As a side note i can reveal several reserve team players have been released also leaving us are goalkeeper Oscar Ramazan who leaves us to sign for Leverkusen in a 1.8million deal and Christoph Janker who leaves to join Brescia in a deal worth 500k.
Thank you, thats all.

Veteran goalkeeper Timo hildebrand has been sidelined with a hip injury which will keep him out for up to 2 months this means that he will miss the start of the season.

Our reporter caught up with both Timo Hildebrand and Christopher Burns:
Hildebrand had this to say; i am very dissapointed to be injured at the very start of the season this will make it harder for me to get in the team when i recover but Gentenaar is a really top class goalkeeper and i wish him all the best but i must add, as soon as i'm back Dennis i'm vying for you.
Burns said this; Yes of course its a blow Hildebrand is a top class keeper but so to is Gentenaar and i wish Timo all the best in his recovery but he will have a job on his hands gettin no.1 position back.

According to our source, Manager Christopher Burns' decision to place him on the transfer list Selim Teber reacted furiously and reportedly flew at Burns punching and kicking Burns while he was on the ground and shouting to him "How dare you, you f*ck**g prick, i've been here four years and you've been here 2 minutes and you think you can boss me around, Prick! Why am i being sold?
Burns said; "Son i am the boss around here you are sh*te your a cocky arrogant little pr**k and i will give you 30 seconds to get the f**k out of here before i give you the beating of your life, flying at me unawares you little pr**k"
After being informed of the scene infolding by a youth team player assistant manager Stefan Klos ran in to the room to split the fight up before it got any more out of hand.
Hoffenheim spokesman Kosta Busch had this to say of the incident;
" I can confirm that this event happened today and the club will be investigating and i can confirm midfielder Selim Teber has been placed on the transfer window immediately.

Deadline day at the office
Troublemaker Selim Teber of Hoffenheim has been sold for a fee of 425k to fellow german side Mainz, i'm sure this will be no loss to Hoffenheim as they have brought in quite a few midfielders and they already had quality midfielders anyway and to add to that he was in a fight with the manager so he really didn't have much of a future.

Transfer window slams shut
A round-up of the German transfer window!
An extremely busy german transfer window saw First division new-comers Hoffenheim and former German heavyweights Leverkusen catch the attention of the fans with two big name transfers.
Hoffenheim signed former Dortmund wing-back Dede the deal has saw dead-ball specialist sign for a fee of £6.5million, While Leverkusen strengthened there goalkeeping position by signing Austrian goalkeeper Ozcan Ramazan for a fee of £1.8Million from Hoffenheim.
S.t. Pauli made the most signings this summer making up to 4 signings to boost their team.

German first division newcomers Hoffenheim went into the second half of this came with a 1-0 lead thanks to senegalise striker Demba Ba's 4th goal of the season. However the second half wasn't so good and Leverkusen fought back with three goals to put themselves in a 3-1 lead. It was again Demba Ba who sought to grab back some points with a goal on the 87th minute to make it 3-2 Leverkusen. Ba however looked to turn himself from hero to villain as quickly after scoring he was red carded for a vicous foul. This put an end to Hoffenheim's hope for a comeback.

Burns changes line-up for the first time this season, burns had this to say of the change;
Christopher Burns: Well i just thought a change was the right thing to do for this match as in recent games our 4-3-3 system hasn't been working. Also i think as this is a cup game i think it would be more appropriate to change our system in this game as i feel that the league is our main focus for the season.
Hoffenheim V Hertha Berlin
Our reporter again caught up with Burns after the game;
Burns: i thought we really upped out game today and proved we can beat the big boys, the tactics really did work and i will be looking for more of the same from the lads.
