Hi There,
I am pleased to announce that my revamp of the Scottish League system is now complete.
Instead of having 4 leagues (SPL 12, Div 1 10, Div 2 10, Div 3 10) there is now 3 leagues of 16 teams. Each team plays each other twice which makes up to a shorter league season of 30 matches, because of this I have extended the Scottish Cup to include every team possible from Scotland so you will notice that the Scottish cup starts a lot earlier than before.
The leagues are as follows:
SPL:
1. Rangers
2. Celtic
3. Aberdeen
4. Hamilton
5. Falkirk
6. Motherwell
7. Hearts
8. Hibs
9. Aberdeen
10. Dundee United
11. St Johnstone
12. Kilmarnock
13. Dundee
14. Queen of the South
15. Dunfermline
16. ICT
Div 1:
1. Ross County
2. Partick Thistle
3. Raith Rovers
4. Morton
5. Ayr
6. Airdrie
7. Cowdenbeath
8. Stirling
9. Alloa
10. Brechin
11. Dumbarton
12. Stenhousemuir
13. East Fife
14. Peterhead
15. Arbroath
16. Clyde
Div 2:
1. Livingston
2. East Stirling
3. Berwick
4. Forfar
5. Albion Rovers
6. Queens Park
7. Annan
8. Streanrar
9. Elgin
10. Montrose
11. Buckie Thistle
12. Cove Rangers
13. Huntly
14. Deveronvale
15. Forres Mechanics
16. Fraserburgh
- There is no relegation from Div 2
- The team that finishes 16th in the SPL and Div 1 goes straight down.
- The team that wins Div 1 and Div 2 gains promotion to the league above.
- 2nd,3rd and 4th from Div 1 go into a play off with the team that finished in 15th in the SPL. The winner gains promotion.
- 2nd, 3rd and 4th from Div 2 go into a play off with the team that finished 15th in Div 1. The winner gains promotion.
- The Scottish Cup now includes every team possible in the game from Scotland so the cup starts alot earlier than normal. I have done this because of the shorter league season of 30 matches per league.
- The League Cup is still the same format as before, clubs from SPL, Div 1 and Div 2 compete to win the cup.
- The League Challenge Cup is also still the same only its teams from Div 1 and Div 2 that take part simply because there is no Div 3.
I have not yet ran through a full season of testing to make sure that everything works ok but this is something that i am doing at the moment. The game is running through a season while I am at work to make sure there is no errors. So watch out for that.
I am also looking for some people to help me test how the league works and suggest any changes or improvements to the league setup.
If you are interested in being involved in testing then please let me know and I will arrange for the file to be sent to you in one way or another.
I look forward to all your comments and reviews. I know there is a lot of work still to be done with minor tweeks to make this better but the backbone has been broken and its well on the way to being completed.
Thanks,
wilkie1984
