Rangers 2 - Hibernian 3

Hibernian shock the Champions with a win at Ibrox with two goals from Liam Miller.
Rangers were down to ten men when Bougherra was sent off in the second half but Hibs go home with the three points in the bag.
Miller stunned the home fans within the first 10 minutes with a long range strike that beat Allan McGregor in goal for Rangers.
Their lead was doubled by Craig Conway just before half-time with a great individual effort after leaving two Ranger's defenders flat footed.
Rangers had few chances in the first half and the frustration could be seen on Ally McCoist's face when Rangers went in for half-time.
The great weather stayed for the second half as Rangers introduced two changes at the half and Rangers quickly started to control the game.

Substitute Nikica Jelavic brought threat to the Rangers attack and had two shots denied by Hibs keeper Mark Brown.
However Jelavic was not to be stopped as within five minutes he scored two to make Rangers level the match and Hibs started to looks in disarray.
However the turning point in the game was when substitute Bougherra was sent off for a rash tackle on Hibs forward Derek Riordan.
Hibs got back in the lead thanks to Craig Conway but Rangers had chances before that to go ahead but Jelavic was denied by the post and Dong-Won was stopped by a Hanlon block on the line.
However Rangers could not get a goal to go level again and the team was booed off at full time by the Rangers fans that remained.
After the game, Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood credited his team performance to get the three points.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game coming to Ibrox against the champions but we took our chances and deserved the three points."

Carderwood Looking Forward to Facing Rangers
26 Aug 2011
..............................................

Colin Calderwood speaks exclusively to Hibernian TV about he is looking forward to the facing champions Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
In an extensive interview - only available to watch via the club's online TV channel - boss Calderwood tackles several key talking points including the possible signings before the end of the transfer window and possible return for Akpo Sodje.
Calderwood did win 3-0 in his first game against Rangers as Hibs manager and he hopes to be able to do the same on Sunday.
"We are still looking at a few players but our squad is really complete so don't expect much movement before the end of the window.
"Rangers are a tough team to play against and we will need to be solid at the back and take chances when we get them but the team is confident of getting a result.
"We have made a good start and we hope to continue that form at Ibrox.
"Sodje could play a part in the game but most likely will not start."

Hibernian 1 - Kilmarnock 1

Hibernian were held to a draw against Kilmarnock at Easter Road this afternoon.
It is the first two points that Hibs have dropped this season despite creating more chances than Kilmarnock over the course of the full 90 minutes.
Peter Clarke put the home side ahead after heading in from close range from a Conway corner leaving Cammy Bell routed to the spot.
Their lead only lasted 4 minutes as Phinn equalised after 15 minutes after a blunder from Stack left Phinn with a chance to make the game level.
It could have been 2-1 to Kilmarnock only a minute later as Craig Bryson corner was almost turned in by Phinn but was saved on the line by Booth at the near post.
The light drizzle seemed to help Hibs style of passing football as Hibs created chance after chance after the half time interval.
Riordan and Sutton both had chances to put Hibs back in the lead but failed to convert.
As the game drew to a close, Andrew Halliday had the final chance of the came with a shot just outside the box but went high and wide.
After the game, Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels credited his team performance to hold on for the point.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game coming here to Easter Road buy my boys performed well defensively and I think we deserved to come away with a point."
Hibernian assistant manager Pat Nevin said there was going to have to be some improvement as Hibs now look towards their next game against Rangers.
"We will have to work on converting chances when we get them as against the old firm you don't get many so you have to make them count."

Team win comfortably at Home
13 Aug 2011
..............................................

Easter Road got bouncing for the first time this season as Hibs dominate to a comfortable win over Dunfermline.
Sutton, Riordan and Wotherspoon all opened their accounts for the season while on loan Grant Hanley did manage to get one goal for the visitors who were treated to a good Easter Road atmosphere.
The first half was fairly dominated by the home team as from the kick-off Riordan got two chances and Peter Clarke then had a header from a Conway corner but Smith saved it comfortably.
Rui Miguel had the first chance for the visitors after Cardle won the ball off Callum Booth but blasted over the bar leaving Stack to take a goal kick which would lead to a chance for Sutton but would be shot slightly wide of the post.
Miller had the best chance of the half as after a good build up play saw Gomis set up Miller for a shot just outside the box. His shot was heading for the top right corner only to be denied by a fantastic save by Smith.
Half Time score: 0-0
The second half continued where the first left off with Riordan setting up Hanlon with a cross only for the defenders header to skim the top of the bar.
Dunfermline continued to weather the storm but after 63 minutes, David Wotherspoon got Hibs in the lead after a pass from Miller left the goal at the mercy of Wotherspoon to tap the ball home to put Hibs one nil up.
Miller got replaced by Swanson and Sproule replaced Conway and Hibs contiued the same way with Dunfermline getting pushed further and further back and then Hibs got their second through Derek Riordan after 72 minutes from a half volley from Wotherspoon's cross.
Dunfermline did manage to get one back when a corner was met by the head of Grant Hanley after poor Hibs marking in the box. However Sutton sealed the win in the third minute additional time to seal the points.
"Another three points and another pleasing performance." Calderwood said after the match.
