Building on Wengers' Success

So just started the career. Set myself as a former international just to give it some credibility, looking forward to a successful few years with Arsenal before moving on to other things. Pre-season and transfers to follow in next update.

First signing of the new regime although he wont join fully until next season due to a loan back option, great prospect for the future, looking to sign a back up keeper, new central defender and off-load some fringe players to raise funds

So an update on transfers so far and also the pre-season frendlies to date which my assistant manager is dealing with





So a big transfer in with Raphael Varane coming in with TV5 going the other way as part of the deal, biggest transfer to date and took out most of the budget. Going to as for an increase to try and get a CDM in as there isnt enough quality in the position atm.





So two big victories against the under 21's and then Gyor, with Sanchez grabbing two goals against the under 21's and Ozil grabbing a hat-trick against Gyor, then two disappointing results although its only pre-season so no worries yet.

Thanks man, hope everyone enjoys my first attempt at a career

So just a quick update before the first league match of the season against Spurs. Lost the Community Shield 2-0 against Man City, disappointing game but the players are still getting used to each other and the tactics I use. Managed to get the board to increase the transfer budget which helped bring in a personal favorite of mine in Lars Bender.











So a strong first team, maybe missing a really good striking option but hope to have that sorted before end of the transfer window.

A fantastic win over our biggest rival, Kieran Gibbs and Mesut Ozil were absolutely outstanding and a great way to recover from the community shield defeat. Need to push on with a few squad players and also a couple of new coaches to help improve the training stats. Also want to give Zelalem and Chamberlain a decent amount of game time as I want to build solid youth to come through.

What a win to start the season! Great signings too. Good too see you want to give youth a chance

So after the first game of the season and the first round of fixtures no less than 7 of my players made it into the team of the week.



Great showing from the lads to start with.





So a shaky first half performance left me with no choice but to make major changes at half time. Changed from the 4231 to a 343 to add more firepower up front and within 22 seconds of the scond half starting Gideon Zelalem gets his first ever Arsenal goal and also becoming the clubs youngest ever goal scorer beating Cesc Fabregas' record by just 6 days. Sanchez then quickly adding a second. Salzburg pulled one back before the team went on to dominate with Podolski and Giroud both scoring before Zelalem got his second of the game, great second half from the lads.





A poor game, great goal by Sanchez with a volley from the corner of the box into the far top corner, however the team just didn't seem to click, absence of Per Mertesacker didn't help, however time to move quickly on and qualify for the group stage of the Champions League before the end of the month. An injury to Kieran Gibbs isnt going to help, so time to see if the new signing in Andrew Robertson can step up.





An easy match with the team rotated however struggled in the first half so brought on Giroud and that changed the game for us, 8-2 on aggregate and progress to the group stage achieved.

Arsenal FC V Leicester City

A disappointing draw with Leicester, not much I can really say other than improvement needed.

Doesn't mean too much at this stage but improvement needed.

Champions League Group Stage Draw

A tough group but should qualify no problem, big fight with Athletico for 1st place.





Not a bad draw, glad to get a home tie, need a trophy this season to build on Wenger and become a more renowned manager.



So after the last update where I had just acquired Lars Bender, I also managed to get Schipplock in on loan for the season as a back up to Olivier Giroud. Looks like a decent back up and only paying 50% of his wages so its a win win.



Also managed to get in a young LB in Andrew Robertson from Dundee United who have a great youth system. Good back up for Gibbs and cost me £7.75M which seems like alot for a back up but there weren't many other options.



Final transfer of the window was another young striker in Ezequiel Rescaldani, a great young prospect from Velez, another rotation option with Schipplock.







So overall a so-so month with work to be done.

Good signings especially 20m for Varane! Absolute beast defender.

Yeah was a great start, nothing more satisfying than putting one over on the enemy

Great start but stalled a little since, need to start gelling the team and racking up the points, Varane is absolute quality

So a great start to the month with the news that Olivier Giroud has won player of the month and Alexis Sanchez has won goal of the month.









Poor performance lucky to get the draw in the end up, tactical changes needed.





Wholesale changes made so in now way the best team i could field but still dominated the game and picked up 3 points, work on finishing needed.





Pretty even match throughout but the team did well to come through with a comfortable victory, maybe the start of something great.





Difficult match, wanted a win badly as I believe that this is a competition we can win, so just happy to progress



Newcastle FC V Arsenal FC

A terrible end to the month, thinking of changing to a 3 at the back and adding more firepower up front but still undecided







So another chance to give Spurs a drubbing, hoping to emulate the 4-0 from the first day of the season



A disappointing month, really need to get going, hope for a better month in October

Yeah results having been great but there are a few new signings which needed time to embed in the team, so i am confident of improvement

And the bad results continue, struggling to score and also defend. Alot of work needed before the next match.

Arsenal FC V QPR

A far better performance from the team. Sanchez, Wilshere, Varane and Per with great performances. Maybe the start of a decent run

Jack Wilshere injured on international duty and will be out for 2months, feel a Wenger rant coming on about the problems with players being used stupidly on international duty.

Arsenal FC V Aston Villa

Dominated Aston Villa in this match and Podolski pops up with the winner in injury team which the team thoroughly deserved.

Galatasary SK V Arsenal FC, Champions League Group Stage

Another disappointing match for the team, felt a draw was deserved, might play a young team in the rest of the group matches in order to fully rest the team for league matches as the squad isnt big enough to compete on more than two fronts and I believe that the cups are more realistic

Manchester City FC V Arsenal FC

Well, results still arent going our way, slight tactic change, more possession and shots but just couldnt finish but it was a tough match away to city so not too disheartened. Big match coming up against Spurs in the cup, time to turn the season around.

Tottenham Hotspur FC V Arsenal FC, Capital One Cup 4th Round

Disgusted at the collapse of the team, reminds me of Athletico V Real Champions League Final. Terrible end to the month. Can we turn this around?? Stay Tuned.

So even though October was a poor month Robertson managed to pick up Young Player of the Month Award and also come 3rd in Player of the Month.

A narrow win but a win all the same, on to the next one

Mesut Ozil breaks his ankle in training and will be out for 2-3 months

Arsenal FC V Galatasary, Champions League Group Stage

A good victory. Poor last 10 minutes but overall a good performance with a few players getting their first goal of the season.

Crystal Palace V Arsenal FC

A match on my birthday. And its ruined, not much to say, big bottle of whiskey needed to drown it out.

Arsenal FC V Swansea City

A good match from the team, well deserved 2-0 victory maybe should have been more and had 2 goals disallowed.

AaB V Arsenal FC, Champions League Group Stage

A win that was alot more comfortable than it appears. Been a good month so far.

Arsenal FC V Burnley

A great way to end the month, good performance by the team.

So sitting in 4th place so really turned things around this month.



Not a bad month only one blip so can't complain, need a win against Athletico Madrid in the Champions League to progress so that will be tough.
