Introduction
This is my firsat career that I am going to share on sortitoutsi, so I apologise if this isn't great, but hey, I will get the hang of it eventually

So, I have decided to take over Yeovil Town of League One for FM2015. Why? I have no idea. I have wanted to manage a lower league team since FM2013, where I took over Stevenage and took them to the top half of the Championship. With FM2014, I decided to take over Derby from the start, and established them as a mid-table Premier League team. However, I felt that something was missing from '14; I missed the part of starting from lower down and making that massive transition from League One to the Championship, which i encountered on '13, and then preparing to do it again to make another big transition to the Premier League. Obviously, in the Championship, you only have to do it once.

I have decided to start with a National B License and past experience of a Sunday League footballer, which mean I am going to have my work very hard to motivate the players, and get a squad together where they aren't so fussed about who is in charge. In other words, no egos! However, I aim to attain a higher level of coachig badge, as I would like to be resposible for the first team's tactical coaching. I decided to swing more in favour of being a tactical manager to start with, as this basically reflects the style of management I would adopt if I did this professionally. I obivously want to improve my stats fairly quickly, both in terms of coaching and management, but first and foremost I want to get Yeovil winning games and playing my style of football (which will be outlined below).

Short Term
So, what's the immediate plan then? Well, fristly, and probably most importantly, I want the squad to get a good pre-season under their belts. It will mostly be focused on getting their match fitness up to optimal levels, with match preparation being about getting used to the tactics and working better as a team. I am a big believer in a squad being as fit as they possibly can going into a new season for various reasons, hence why I am going to be putting the players through their paces before the first game of the season against Doncaster at home. Part of pre-season on my side, and I imagine a lot of other managers' teams, is to get the tactics all sorted. I am usually very shrewd with my tactics, and usually have clear instructions that I give to the team and individually to each player. I am going to look extensively into what each player's strengths and weaknesses are, and make a decision of how I am going to play my side with the obvious aim of winning as many games as possible. I am not an overly attacking manager, and I like to predominately be defensively sound, and away from home this will very much be the case, as I will look to hit teams on the counter as opposed to going all out for a win. At home, I tend to be more balanced, depending very much on the opposition's form, strengths and weaknesses. I am optimistic about the tactics I have in mind and will obviously show you on how I choose to deploy me team in due course.

Secondly, I am aiming to get the team playing a possession-based style of football, where we are patient with our build up play and dictate the pace of games, especially at home. Although this could be a difficult mentality to get across because of the physicality of League One, and even more so when playing away from home, I hope to be able to effectively bring this style of play to Yeovil's football, with the aim of winning games in return as well as getting more fans through the turnstiles at Huish Park.

And last but not least, like any team, I want to strenghten. I have fairly quickly noticed that we lack strength and depth in the centre of midfield and on the right wing. Apart from that, I am fairly happy with the squad I have inherited, and there is a good balance to the side and the squad. Obviously time will tell if I have made the right judgement!
Alongiside signing players externally, I am looking to tie down our better players to re-signing with the club. Some of our best players, such as Joe Edwards and Kieffer Moore, are both in the last year of their contracts, and it would be a huge blow to lost them both. So, I will be looking to address this ASAP, as I feel that will contribute to a more settled squad as well as fending off any clubs that may have tabs on them.

Long Term
I think that it is fairly obvious that I am looking to get Yeovil to the big time. The club have never been there before, so it would be brilliant if I could be the man to take them there. I am going to do it slowly, however. I have never put a club at financial risk, and this won't change on FM2015. I will aim to progress the club slowly - consolidation being the first priority, both on and off the field. Once I feel that this has been achieved, we will look into working our way up the league, regardless of divison. It will take patience, on my side, the players' side and the board's side, but hopefully we can all work together to get the Glovers to where every team wants to be. I am very excited about this career and the game itself, as laready it seems to have a much smoother feel. We'll just see how it goes!

So yeah, that's it! Like I said, this is my first go at doing this, so if you have any pointers for me it would be very much apreciated. I will update fairly regularly to keep you all up-to-date with how things are going. Thank you for reading!

Your text to link here...2013/14 - Yeovil Town - Pre-Season
Okay, so here is my first update of my Yeovil career; pre-season. I hope you enjoy reading this update on what I feel has been a pretty successful close-season.

I have to say I am fairly pleased with the expectations that the board have given me, as there is plenty of room to do better than this and enhance my managerial reputation by exceeding expectations, as I am practically unknown in the footballing world. I was actually, though, quite surprised at how low the expectations are. I would’ve thought, with the team just coming down from the Championship, that their ambitions would have been to get a return to the second tier at the first time of asking. But, as I said, I am happy with these expectations and feel I can do much better! We’ll have to wait and see...

As I mentioned in my introduction to this career, I wanted the team to start playing a possession style of football as soon as possible. With this in mind, I asked the chairman, John Fry, if I could install this philosophy; on which I will be judged on. As you can see, they accepted my proposal, giving me the all clear to adopt this style of football to my team.

Training Schedule

Again, as I mentioned in the introduction, I wanted a focus on fitness in the pre-season schedule. I have worked the players hard in the build-up to the start of our League One campaign against Doncaster, and the players seem to have coped well with the tough regime, which is always a good thing to see as a manager.

Tactics
Formations

Pretty self explanatory these - I think they provide a good balance of attack and defence for the team, as well as having the flexibility to change mentality at different times. The tactic I am looking to use the most is the 4-2-3-1 formation. This is because I think we can be dangerous going forward, especially by playing wingers and playing the attacking midfielder in the ‘shadow striker’ role. But alongside this, we can also be weary of the attacking threat(s) of the opposition, which of course is also important.

Team Instructions

I have installed the team instructions to suit the style of play that I want the side to play. I am a big fan (sorry to mention this again!) of possession, as at the end of the day, when we have the ball we can score, and they can’t! I also like to, when we lose the ball, get it back as soon as possible, hence the closing down more instruction.
