Calderwood sacked after ‘bung’ enquiry.
Sunday, July 2 2006

In shocking circumstances former Scottish international football, Colin Calderwood has been sacked as manager of the Tricky Trees after he was discovered that his move from Northampton Town was part of a ‘bung’ enquiry.

Chairman, Nigel Doughty has been forced to sack the Scottish man with mutual consent as it would be too hard to work at a football club when he will probably end up facing an enquiry and probably be given a ban from the FA anyway.

Forest are the only ever winners of the UEFA Champions League to be playing at such a low level when they where relegated from the Coca-Cola Championship two seasons ago, which saw the former European Champions enter league one but they couldn’t gain straight promotion and they are here for a second straight season but they are hopeful they can get out of the division this time.

In the past couple of years, Nottingham Forest have had the best youth academy in probably the whole of England when they produced such players as Jermaine Jenas, Michael Dawson, Andy Reid, Marlon Harewood, David Prutton and even Shaun Wright-Phillips although he never made it to the first team.

Later in the day, Nigel Doughty have decided to appoint the former Liverpool and Rosenborg defender, Vegard Heggem as their new manager of the League one outfit and he hopes to become a top manager and work his way up to the Premiership within five years.

Heggem will begin his pre-season away to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in I think around seven days where he hopes to probably have a few new signings in order to play, but he knows it’ll be difficult to manage to buy them as they are only a League one club but he hopes some players will join.

Pre-season fixtures announced
Monday, July 3 2006

Today saw Vegard Heggem’s first major activity as the new Nottingham Forest manager as he booked his side in six pre-season friendly encounters over eighteen days ahead of the league opener at the beginning of August.

On Sunday, July 9 2006 they will travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday as the new manager looks to sort out his perfect squad and who he’d like to play probably each week and see if he can get some new players also in on trial.

Four days later, Nottingham Forest will host Glenn Roeder’s Newcastle United side at the City Ground, Forest supporters will probably get to see the greats like Shay Given, Obafemi Martins, Emre, Scott Parker and even Damien Duff if Roeder decides to play them.

Three days after that they will then host Paul Le Guen’s Glasgow Rangers side at the City Ground as the Promotion contenders hope to do well in pre-season before they kick off the league season, Rangers I am sure will bring good players to Nottingham.

Then on the twentieth of July the mighty, mighty FC Bayern Munich will visit the Midlands for what will be a huge pre-season friendly, which maybe Nottingham Forest could win as football is a funny game and Bayern would probably rest some players during the game.

Three days after FC Bayern visit, Nottingham Forest will be on the road to Gainsborough, which is winnable, I am not too sure what division they play in, even if it’s a playable league but they should win it.

The last pre-season game is on the twenty-seventh when they travel to the Darlington Arena to take on Darlo from Coca-Cola League Two, which they’ll probably win when they make the long trip to the North East.

After pre-season n the fifth of August, Nottingham Forest will travel to Huddersfield Town in what will be the opening day of the Coca-Cola League One season, which will be a tricky start for the tricky trees.

Forest complete first signing
Wednesday, July 5 2006

Nottingham Forest have this evening completed the signing of Khalilou Fadiga on a free transfer after his contract at Bolton Wanderers had expired in the summer and was a free agent.

He spent some part of last season on-loan at Coca-Cola Championship club, Derby County so he is expected to be a good little signing for the promotion contenders from League one.

The thirty-one year old will be on a two-year contract, which will see him earn one thousand two hundred pound a week, which is pretty decent for a club as low at Forest are at the moment.

The Senegal international has won twenty-nine caps at the moment scoring only three goals but come on he’s not a striker he’s a midfielder, which he will be used just behind the striker in Forest and he’ll like it.

He started his career at French amateur club Red Star 93, spending two seasons there before moving on to Leige where he spent a season and then he was off to Lommel where he spent two more seasons before staying in Belgium and moving to Club Brugge where he was to spend three seasons before going back to France and Auxerre, three seasons later he was off to Inter Milan in Italy where he only spent a season before coming to the Premiership and Bolton Wanderers, two season their and last season he was on-loan to Derby but only made four appearances and didn’t score.

He’s a fairly determined type player, which should help the Nottingham club in getting back promoted to the Coca-Cola Championship.

Tricky Trees sign Liverpool youngster on-loan
Thursday, July 6 2006

A second summer signing was introduced to the Nottingham press as Liverpool youngster Danny Guthrie signed on-loan for the entire season from the two thousand and five Champions league winners.

Midfielder, Guthrie will be used as nothing else but a squad player at the moment as Clingan and Holt will be used in the centre of midfield for the opening pre-season encounter against Sheffield Wednesday this up coming Sunday.

Forest will play the nineteen year olds full wages of a thousand pound, which is decent for the club as Forest can pay up to five thousand pound in wages for loan signings as the chairman is decent.

He is hoping a move to the City Ground will help him as in his three seasons at Anfield he is yet to break into the first team in the Premiership making no appearances in the league in the last three years and I am sure he’ll play some part for Forest.

The five-foot-nine midfielder should be able to fit into the squad and his hoping he can break into the starting eleven at the expense of Clingan and Holt who are indeed the first choice players under Heggem.

In other news, Nottingham Forest have lost physio Gary Fleming to West Ham United, which will see the League one side gain fourteen thousand pounds for his leaving to the Premiership side. He’s thirty-nine, Fleming and from Derry in Northern Ireland.

A third signing in three days
Friday, July 7 2006

Vegard Heggem’s squad building ahead of the new season has continued this afternoon at midday with the signing of Ryan Garry from Arsenal for a fee believed to be less than one hundred thousand pound.

The twenty-two year old was allowed to move on from manager Arsene Wenger decided he couldn’t hold the young defender on long enough as he was placed on the transfer list from the North London club.

The giant six foot two defender, which is tall for a centre half probably won’t take any part of the pre-season game with Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday but will be in the squad for the trip to Hillsborough

Garry has made only one league appearance for the London based outfit, which was back in the two thousand and two-two thousand and three season but I just can’t remember who that was against now.

The defender can play at left back or centre back but more than likely at Nottingham Forest, Heggem might be using him at left back as he thinks the current one isn’t good enough but he’ll see against Sheffield Wednesday before deciding if he’ll be good enough.

The Upminster born defender only has a Regional reputation so Heggem is hoping a move to the Midlands will help up his reputation.

Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Nottingham Forest
Sunday, July 9 2006

Posted ImageVPosted Image

An even Stevens game at Hillsborough saw Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest drew one-one in Vegard Heggem’s first pre-season friendly in charge of Nottingham Forest against their Coca-Cola Championship opponents.

A short ball from O’Brien to Small saw him have the first chance of the game at Hillsborough but Sammy Clingan got the ball cleared off the line and Forest could start the counter attack.

From the counter attack a great ball from Grant Holt found Grant Holt and the striker’s cross-found Nicky Southall and he went mightily close for the visitors on four minutes as the ball skimmed the top of the bar.

It took five minutes for the visitors to break through from basically the same attack when a goal kick from Brad Jones was knocked forward from Ian Breckin let in Grant Holt and he slotted the ball beyond the reach of Jones in the Wednesday goal and Forest led, 1-0.

Sheffield Wednesday had a chance to get level on twelve minutes when a ball was failed to be cleared properly and it fell to Coughlan but he couldn’t get the ball on the target and it was wasteful.

The equaliser did come however on thirteen minutes when a Chris Brunt corner could only be punched to the edge of the box from Paul Smith and Yohann Folly’s shot towards goal was touched home from Steven MacLean and it was all levelled up.

The Forest from Nottingham should have gone two-one ahead when the ball had fallen perfectly to Kris Commons and Brad Jones could only punch it clear as it looked like he was beaten all ends up from Commons’ shot with twenty-one minutes gone.

Just two minutes later, Kris Commons had laid the ball to Padula and his shot was tipped over the bar from the on-loan Middlesbrough goalkeeper and Forest had a corner, Coughlan cleared the ball from a Fadiga corner as Nottingham Forest where probably going to score again.

A Chris Brunt through ball found Steven MacLean and he had turned the ball into the back of the net past Paul Smith but the referee had disallowed the goal because MacLean was offside with thirty-one minutes gone.

A good ball past to Gary Holt saw him drive the ball over the top of the crossbar as it was another off target chance for the League One outfit and Wednesday had a goal kick at Hillsborough.

A great through ball on fifty-nine minutes found Steven MacLean and he brought a good save from Smith in goals but the referee’s assistant manager had risen his flag for offside.

Kris Commons’ on sixty-three saw him hit the ball over the top of the net, which maybe he should have done better with the effort as it was well off target and it remained all square at one apiece.

A ball played into the penalty area found Kyle Jordan but his turn and shot went just over the crossbar as it feels like both sides do not want to lose this game even know it’s only in-preseason.

A cross on seventy-eight minutes from Chris Brunt found Folly but his quick turn and shot was saved by Paul Smith and the referee had given Forest a free kick after Folly tripped John Curtis.

A poor goal kick from Smith found McClements who played in Bowman and his shot brought a great save out of Paul Smith who had to read the danger caused by him in the first place.

An accidental knockdown from Gary Holt and Kris Commons smashed the ball over the top of the crossbar as he was facing lack of inconsistency in front of goals with seven minutes remaining in Yorkshire.

Fadiga had a great chance to put Nottingham Forest ahead late on when he drove the shot towards goal but Brad Jones could only parry the drive and Southall smacked the ball wide.

The full time whistle went in Sheffield this afternoon and both sides drew one-one in what was a great pre-season encounter between those sides, ten both off target and four both on target, maybe both sides could have won the game, Newcastle United are next at home for the Toon Army in a couple of days.

Forest go Krul for ten months
Monday, July 10 2006

Nottingham Forest have again decided to look for more squad depth with the capture of highly-rated Newcastle United goalkeeper, Tim Krul on loan for ten months and he has arrived at the City Ground with immediate effect.

Krul who signed for one hundred and forty thousand pounds from Dutch league side Ado Den Haag where he was also highly rated there too before his switch to Tyneside in the summer of two thousand and five.

He is yet to make any appearances in the Magpies first team at the moment because of Shay Given who is usually unable to get injured and also with the more experience of Steve Harper as back up.

The eighteen year old will not be allowed to play on Thursday night when Newcastle United visit the City Ground in their second pre-season encounter, which they’ll hope to win.

The six foot two goalkeeper will indeed be a regular in the Forest line-up unless they play Newcastle in any other cup competitions like Carling Cup or FA Cup then indeed he wouldn’t be able to play as part of his loan deal.

Tim Krul will go back to Newcastle on the tenth of May two thousand and seven but maybe he’ll like a return to the Midlands and spent another season with Nottingham Forest but only time will tell, Krul will make his debut against Huddersfield unless something goes wrong.

Nottingham Forest 0-3 Newcastle United
Thursday, July 13 2006

Posted ImageVPosted Image

Nottingham Forest where completely outclassed by a Newcastle United side, which started with Obafemi Martins, Damien Duff, Shay Given, James Milner, Emre amongst their talents and Forest couldn’t cope.

It took the Premiership outfit only thirty-four seconds to have a first chance when Albert Luque twisted through and he somehow blazed his shot over the top of the crossbar when with more composure it could have went in.

Another chance for the Toon came with one minute and twelve seconds goal when the ball fell to Emre and Paul Smith parried his drive and it looked like Newcastle where going to destroy their League one opponents.

Forest just couldn’t get out of the blokes here and Newcastle had another good chance from an Emre free kick, which was curled just past the post and it was a goal kick but how long could they hold on?

Obafemi Martins caused the Forest defence problems when he dribbled before his cross from Albert Luque whose header was agonizingly close from giving the visitors the lead on eighteen minutes.

A sharp through ball let in Albert Luque who couldn’t be stopped and he tapped the ball past Paul Smith and Newcastle had finally broken through on twenty-one minutes.

A sixth chance all together fell for the Toon Army in this game when Damien Duff was causing them problems and his cross found Luque who couldn’t get the shot on target and the Tricky Trees could blow a sigh of relief.

They just would not let Forest relax and they had another off target chance when Scott Parker blasted over a free kick from about twenty-five yards out in the Midlands and no one knows how this is only one-nil Newcastle.

Still the pressure came from Newcastle and this time a Scottie Parker free kick did cause the home side problems but it was hit right down the chest of Smith in the home goal.

However, minutes later when Obafemi Martins intercepted a pass he was away and he went straight into the penalty area and he easily put the ball past the home goalkeeper and it was two-nil.

With the first half coming to a close at the City Ground a cross from Duff found James Milner who saw his header go just past the post and it was never in danger in finding the net.

The first serious chance of the second half fell with about sixteen minutes remaining when Olivier Bernard’s drive was touched into the net from Kieron Dyer and the Barclays Premiership side where leading the Coca-Cola League One side by three goals to nil.

The Magpies where now on the trial to humiliate their opponents and Shola Ameobi came close to adding a fourth when a vicious effort towards the top corner went over.

Going into the last five minutes, Giuseppe Rossi decided to fire a shot towards the top far corner fortunately for the home side it went wide with Paul Smith probably beaten.

Really, it should be four-nil when Shola Ameobi saw his header brilliantly parried by the Forest goalkeeper with a minute gone in added time at the end of the game.

The full time whistle was blown at the City Ground and Forest deservedly got a a** kicking by three goals to nil as Newcastle had dominated from the beginning to the end.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Glasgow Rangers
Sunday, July 16 2006

Posted ImageVPosted Image

Thomas Buffel scored the only goal as Rangers defeated Nottingham Forest in the League one’s latest pre-season encounter, which saw the referee disallow three goals, two for Forest and one for Rangers.

On twelve minutes, Rangers had the first chance of the game when Barry Ferguson stepped up but he curled his free kick past the up right and it went down as an off target chance, seconds later Lee Martin played in Kris Boyd but his turn and shot was easy for Tim Krul.

Exactly on fourteen minutes a cross from Greyed out player Knox found Sionko but his header went high and wide past the post and it was in never trouble of beating Krul.

A good through ball on twenty-one minutes found striker Grant Holt and he slotted the ball into the back of the net but unfortunally for the home support the referee disallowed the goal for offside.

A cross from Kris Boyd found on-loan Lee Martin and he found Thomas Buffel who was in the right place at the right time to beat debutant Tim Krul and the Scottish side where leading just three minutes later.

The next chance fell when Barry Ferguson was found out and his shot was tipped over the crossbar and the visitors had a corner kick with them still leading by the single goal.

A great ball found Grant Holt but his shot could only find the side netting with just over half an hour gone in Nottingham.

The home side could blow a huge sigh of relief in added time at the end of the first half when Lee Martin played in Boyd who tapped the ball to Buffel but his shot beat the post and it got cleared, almost a carbon copy of the opener.

The equaliser was scored, well that’s what Forest thought when Gary Holt had played in Grant Holt in the forty-eighth minute and he beat the Gers goalkeeper but again the referee disallowed the goal.

In the sixty-forth minute a corner from Andrew MacLaren found Kris Boyd who was their to put Rangers two-nil ahead in the Midlands, but it wasn’t too be as the referee had disallowed his third goal of the afternoon, this time for a foul on Nicky Southall.

Another great chance fell to the Scottish side when the ball fell brilliantly for Kris Boyd but he saw his shot stopped from the on-loan Newcastle shot stopped, Krul.
That there was the last chance worth noting and Rangers had help Nottingham Forest to their second straight pre-season defeat as they are yet to win, they drew the first at Sheffield Wednesday.

Great story so far, and don't worry about the pre-season results, I never do (remember Roma calling)

Nottingham Forest 0-4 Bayern Munich
Thursday, July 20 2006

Posted ImageVPosted Image

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Radio Nottingham where we are to have live audio feed of the huge pre-season encounter between Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich at the City Ground.

The Nottingham Forest supporters will get to see the likes of Oliver Kahn, Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Owen Hargreaves, Lucio, Philipp Lahm amongst others of their wonderful talent. Now it’s time to kick off so here is the audio feed of tonight’s encounter.

Bayern Munich got off to a great start when with just over thirty seconds gone on the clock a bad defensive mistake let in Lukas Podolski and he squared the ball to Makaay who tapped the German’s into the lead.

On five minutes, Nottingham Forest could have scored against the top, topside when Nathan Tyson found himself in space but he overran the ball and Kahn the German international goalkeeper easily blocked it.

On sixteen minutes a corner kick from Scholl found Roy Makaay again who was allowed to put the ball into the back of the net and Forest where already falling apart with just over a quarter of the match gone.

A cross from Lahm on twenty-six minutes was headed into the back of the net from Mehmet Scholl and Bayern where leading by three goals to nil against there league one opponent, Nottingham Forest.

A great chance for a fourth first half goal happened when a good ball found Lukas Podolski but his turn and shot was brilliantly beaten away from Tim Krul in the home goal, brilliant save.

Hasan Salihamidzic had another great chance for the visitors when he saw his shot beat the crossbar from about twenty yards out and Forest supporters didn’t really expect anything and they weren’t getting anything.

With the first half coming to an end, Roy Makaay was left in space but Tim Krul had to bring a fantastic save from the striker from Holland or it should have been five-nil with the game still not at half time with Salihamidzic’s shot as well.

A cross-found Nicky Southall who saw his header go over the top of the crossbar with Olivier Kahn beaten all ends up with probably the last chance of the first period in Nottingham with Forest three-nil down.

A flick through from Philipp Lahm found Roy Makaay who saw his shot tipped over the crossbar from Krul with the first chance of the second half with forty-eight minutes on the clock.

With just under twenty-one minutes remaining, Bayern Munich added a fourth goal when Bastian Schweinsteiger cut inside the Forest defence before unleashing a brilliant shot, which has beaten Krul all ends up and it was four.

Nottingham Forest had a great chance to pull a consolation goal at home when Gary Holt stepped up to take a free kick but he saw his go over the bar, a whisker from going into the back of the goal with Rensing beaten.

The full time whistle had gone and Bayern Munich obviously deserved the win that they got as they dominated Nottingham Forest from the beginning to the end and scoring four times without reply.

Gainsborough 0-6 Nottingham Forest
Sunday, July 23 2006

Posted ImageVPosted Image

This afternoon, Nottingham Forest picked up their first pre-season victory of the summer in brilliant circumstances as they ran riot against Conference North side Gainsborough at The Northolme as the visitors where completely dominates from start to finish.

It took the visitors in this game only twenty nine seconds to break the deadlock when Nicky Southall thought he had played in Grant Holt but the football went straight into the back of the net past Sollitt, Southall is certainly taking the credit but what we do know is that Forest lead.

Grant Holt should have scored however on three minutes when a Nicky Southall cross found the striker whose header went only into the side netting and it was a goal kick to the home side as Forest have made a statement early on.

A Padula free kick found Nicky Southall whose header rebounded off the crossbar with fourteen minutes gone, as the visitors want to score more goals than the one they currently have.

The second goal did come however when Fadiga decided to play in Grant Holt but he was blocked off as the ball fell perfectly for Nathan Tyson and the former Wycombe man put the ball home and Forest where two-nil ahead.

Kris Commons’ brilliantly picked out Grant Holt who flicked the ball on to Nathan Tyson and he was able to slot Nottingham Forest further ahead and they led by three goals to nil with only thirty-seven minutes gone.

With the first chance of the second half, Nathan Tyson should have added a fourth goal but he saw his shot tipped over the top when it looked like it was going to the top corner.

A corner from Fadiga with forty-eight minutes on the clock was headed into the back of the net from Ryan Garry as the eighty five thousand pound defender scored his first ever goal for the Nottingham club.

A free kick found Grant Holt again but this time he was heading the ball wide of the mark and it had gone down as an off target shot unfortunally but you can do that when you lead four-nil away from home.

This time with sixty-one minutes gone it was a corner from Nicky Southall and Gary Holt was their to put the ball into the net and it became five for the away side and this was too easy.

A bad mistake from Pell was Grant Holt finally get on the score sheet as he took the ball past the goalkeeper and their was no way he was going to miss it and he didn’t as Nottingham Forest led Gainsborough by six goals to nil with still twenty-minutes remaining.

Nathan Tyson came inches from scoring a hatrick with fifteen minutes remaining when he was picked out but unlucky for him, Sollitt was able to stop him from getting a seventh Nottingham Forest goal.

Another great Forest chance came when Nathan Tyson who was dying to score a hatrick today managed to hit the post from just inside the eighteen yard box and surely they where going to score more than six.

A foul from Paul Alexander gave Forest a chance to score a seventh this afternoon with three minutes remaining, Tyson stepped up and it was saved from the goalkeeper and it stayed six.

The full time whistle was blown and Nottingham Forest snapped to pick up their first pre-season win of the season, now they look in great shape to play Darlington in a couple of days.

Nathan Tyson was immense today but he just couldn't get the hatrick, as he hit the post and missed a penalty

Rovers sign Gardner on-loan
Tuesday, July 25 2006

Nottingham Forest’s central midfielder Ross Gardner has today joined League two outfit, Bristol Rovers on-loan for six months so he can hopefully get first team football with the side whose expected to be in the play-offs.

The twenty-one year old has made twenty eight appearances in the first team in the last three seasons had decided to get first team experience else where as he said he’d find it hard to break into the first team at Forest this season.

The five-foot-eight midfielder hopes to become a regular at the Memorial ground while he’s on-loan at his new club for six months where he hopes to play, where he’ll get paid one thousand pounds per week.

He’ll return to Nottingham Forest on the twenty third of January two thousand and seven but might be sent back out on-loan, this news came just two days before they travel to Darlington for their last pre-season game ahead of Huddersfield.

Darlington 2-2 Nottingham Forest
Thursday, July 27 2006

A draw was probably the best outcome in Nottingham Forest’s last pre-season game at the Darlington Arena as Darlo and Forest drew two-two in what was a pretty even game.

A ball played in found Junior Agogo but he couldn’t get his chance on target with the first chance coming in the tenth minute, which was Commons’ last activity in the match as he picked up a knock and was subbed.

The visitors where in the lead with sixteen minutes on the clock when a free kick from Nicky Southall curled a brilliantly free kick into the back of net, which left David Knight no chance.

A very boring first half saw Darlington equalise in the thirty-fifth when Joachim knocked the ball down to Keitie who was there to smash the ball past Tim Krul and it was all level.

Just two minutes later Smith cross for Joachim and he squeezed the ball into the back of the net and the home side had totally turned it around at the Darlington Arena as they led by two goals to one.

Wainwright had Darlington’s first chance of the second half just a minute in when his drive was tipped over the top from Krul in the Forest goals.

A bad defensive mistake found Junior Agogo who slotted past Knight but the chance shouldn’t of came about, as Darlington should have cleared the ball in the first place, the goal came in the sixty-seventh minute.

Forest should have had the lead when Fadiga unleashed a long-range drive, which was brilliantly tipped over the top from the home goalkeeper, as it remained two all.

Rawson should have done better with his header when he was picked out from Wainwright’s free kick with eight minutes remaining in the North East of England.

Gary Holt was picked out and he should have done better but unfortunally he rushed the shot and it went just past the post in the side netting with the goal coming to an end.

The full time whistle went at the Darlington Arena as both sides drew two-two in there last pre-season encounter.

Coca-Cola league one – match day one

Posted ImageVPosted Image

Nottingham Forest opening day trip to Yorkshire was a game to forget as Huddersfield Town smacked four in the first half without reply to anger manager Vegerd Heggem who couldn’t believe it.

A great ball from Schofield found Liam Beckett who got cleared and his shot was tapped home from almost an inch out and Huddersfield had gotten off to a fantastic start.

A minute later on six minutes Huddersfield doubled the advantage after a great ball from Worthington found Pavel Abbott and he passed the ball to Liam Beckett and he tapped home and it was not a happy opening day for Forest.

With eleven minutes gone Abbott just put a shot over the top of the crossbar as Nottingham Forest where basically playing sh*t in Huddersfield this afternoon as it looked like they where going to get a hammering.

Fifteen minutes gone and it was three for the home side when Smith crossed for Schofield to put Huddersfield three-nil up after very bad defending from the promotion contenders.

It should have been four when Worthington put the ball over the crossbar as they where dominating the hell out of the visitors, Heggem does not look happy at the moment on the touchline.

Kilkenny found Danny Schofield whose shot was tipped over the bar from Tim Krul and this should be more than three with only twenty-eight minutes gone and Town leading three-nil.

Again Huddersfield where having pressure on the Forest defences and when Schofield found Abbott and should have been four but Krul tipped it away for a corner kick and Forest need to sort this out.

Liam Beckett came close to again adding a fourth goal in Yorkshire when Beckett was denied from close range by Tim Krul and Heggem looked even more angry than he has ever been, from the resulting corner the ball was headed home from David Mirfin and Huddersfield finally scored a fourth with eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Another chance in the first half fell to the home side when a Smith corner found Clarke who headed just over the bar as Nottingham Forest wanted the first half just to be over.

It took just two minutes for Huddersfield to have the first chance of the second period when Schofield drove the ball just past the far post and this can not get any worse surely for the visitors.

Kilkenny should have had a fifth goal if he had more composure when he got cleaned through but he blazed over the bar when more composure would have punished the defence more.

The second half wasn’t as exciting as the first and with seventy-four minutes gone, Neil Kilkenny again caused problems when his shot skimmed the top of the crossbar and again it should have been five.

Mirfin had a great chance, as again it should have been five when his free kick was easily handled from Tim Krul in the Forest goal.

Another chance came with five minutes remaining when Smith blazed over the bar after being picked out but it wasn’t really going to cause the goalkeeper problems.

The full time whistle was blown and Huddersfield won by four goals to nil but to be honest it should have been more as Huddersfield Town had nine chances on target and twenty six all together to Forest’s none on target and one overall, that proves how crap they played.

Jonathan Worthington caused Nottingham Forest all sorts of trouble this afternoon as Huddersfield picked up an easy victory.
