The Adboard Mega Patch V3.0

I don't know if theres much intrest for this here but over at FMG live I have been working on this and though it would be worthwhile letting everyone here know about it

As you may be aware by now thanks to the addition of the 3D match engine we now have adboards in FM. This seems to be a like it/hate it addition to the game. The default ad's are bland are boring but thankfully we can assign custom adboards to FM for specific teams and competitions.

As you can the see simple addition of the Ads can improve the whole match experience and adds some charcter to home games

So far at FMG live we have created a mega patch and an Add on Patch. Thanks to the Add on Patch this is currently the only adboard patch with adboards for teams outside of Europe (Argentina and Brazil so far) and contains a massive 521 adboards!

Due to the way the xml coding works if you want to use both patches you need to ensure that the Adboard Mega Patch V3.0 Must is installed before the Add on Patch, otherwise the adds from the add on patch will not show up in the game

Well, if I played FM09 I'm sure that'd be quite a decent addition to the game. Good work on that.

You should know, however, that there is no 'a' in the word 'completed'.

I really don't understand how to add adboards to my game :S I guess it's to My document/sport interactive/football manager 2009/graphics/pictures... but then what? I don't need any config files?

I appreciate a answer

You just put the two folders (ads and graphics) into your My document/sport interactive/football manager 2009 and thats it, the config file is in the ads folder

Thx for the answer =) thou it's not working for me =P :cry: I don't know what I have done wrong? I did like u wrote... but still no adboards :| tried over and over again, hehe. Everything else is working besides the adboards! Enoying I say! I'm playing in the Spanish league with R. Madrid. If it's helping u to help me =P :daydream:

Funnenly enough the other 3,500 people to download both packs have never complained of a problem

Help!

I'm desperate to get this working, no joy yet.

I've put the first download "FM ads v3" in my FM09 folder. Nothing happened in game. I then put the second download "ads" and "graphics" in the same place (I had to rename then so as they didn't overwrite my current "graphics" folder). Nothing happened after that. I then stuck the renamed "ads" and "graphics" INSIDE the "FM ads v3" which is in my main FM09 folder. Reloaded the page but still no ads! I'm using 2d but it wasn't happening in the 3d either. I've got everything else working that I've downloaded. Any ideas?

The actual ads have to be in the My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\pictures\ads folder. Overwriting the graphics folder will not effect any off your other files!

The config.xml file has to be in the My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\ads folder


If you do not have them in the Graphics folder then there's your problem. The new ads can't replace what's currently the default SI ads if the folder structure from the system files isn't replicated exactly. So if the the above files are in fifferent folder than listed above then they will not work. Hope that clears everything up
