June 29th 2009:
Flahavan takes charge of Stirling
Stirling Albion have appointed American Jason Flahavan as manager following the sacking of Allan Moore.
33 year old Flahavan has never coached outside of America and was last seen managing in the regional league of his home state of Virginia.
It is thought that Flahavan will have very little room in terms of money for players given the club's financial plight - having only recently been saVed from a winding up order over unpaid taxes

Stirling had off the fields problem towards the end of last season
Albion begin their pre-season campaign with a home tie against Dunfermline on July the 5th and the manager will meet the player and take his first training session tomorrow.

One in one re-signing:
Today Stirling Albion completed the first signing of the new manager Jason Flahavan’s tenure at Forthbank, striker Marc Wallace joining on a free transfer.
Wallace, 19 was previously on trial in America in March bidding to win a scholarship when he broke down with an injury and the former Amateur star was delighted to sign up at Albion telling the official website:
Marc Wallace said:
,“I‘m delighted to be a part of Stirling Albion Football Club.” the 19 year old beamed “I actually was aware of Mr. Flahavan before he took over here because he was in charge of trial I was on in America, and he was there when I broke down with my hip injury. He’s a great man and I’m happy he has given me the opportunity to play football again and will give 110% on the pitch all game, every game”
Wallace has an exceptional career strike rate at amateur level for his local side Bishopbriggs and is thought to be one of the shrewdest players in the Scottish lower leagues.
In other Albion related news, Martin Grehan has agreed a one year extension to his current deal. Grehan told SAFC.co.uk
Martin Grehan said:
'“Once the new manager came in I spoke to him on the phone and we got to talking and I was delighted to hear I was part of his ambitions for the club and I verbally agreed to stay on for a year and then today I officially signed”
The players will have the day off tomorrow before preparations begin for the first home match against Dunfermline.
