BURLEY SACKED FROM SCOTLAND JOB
14th of July 2008

Reports are coming from the Scottish Football Association, that current Scotland boss George Burley has been sacked as national manager.
Various newspapers in Holland have been reporting all week that Burley has been seen rooming the streets of Amsterdam at late hour. Despite Burley being a married man, a certain newspaper printed pictures of Burley with various 'club' girls.
Scottish Football Association chief executive Gordon Smith had this to say "Despite various stories coming from Holland of George acting strangely shall we say while in Amsterdam, I would like to dismiss this as the reason we have came to the decision to sack him. We have been talking to Burley a lot recently and unfortunately we felt Burley did not share the same ambitions as us and therefore we see it pointless to carry on with George"
Although Smith did not tell us who was on the shortlist to be the next national boss, Sky Sports believe possibilities to be the next Scotland Manager are: Sir Alex Ferguson, Gordon Strachen, Walter Smith, Darren Ferguson, Craig Levein and Kenny Dalglish
Sky Sports News will update viewers as soon as possibile any news that we hear about. We are live 24/7 on Sky Channel 405 and FreeView channel 83.
Using his experience of working with utter fannies for his own good then...
Quite interesting. Gonna follow this one.
Partick Thistle 2010-11
Last Game: Cowdenbeath 2-1 Thistle
Next Game: Thistle v Ayr United
Top scorer: Six players (1)

Sky Sports News runs through the profiles of the next possible Scottish national manager.
Sir Alex Ferguson
The best manager in the world some say. Has he won everything he wants at club level after securing his second Champions League title with Man United? Many have always expected him to eventually be national manager once again so is his time now? Sky Sports rates his chance of being the next national boss high.
Gordon Strachan
After leaving Celtic at the end of the season and currently unemployed, many see Strachan as an ideal replacement for Burley. Strachan won 50 caps for Scotland and is a member of the Scottish Hall Of Fame. Sky Sports rate his chance of getting the job as very high.
Walter Smith
Walter was the national manager a couple of years ago but left to join Rangers. However after winning the Scottish Premier League with Rangers for the first time in three years people have expected Smith to resign and allow assistant manager Ally McCoist to become the new Rangers boss. Sky Sports rate his chances as unlikely.
Darren Ferguson
The Peterborough manager and son of Sir Alex Ferguson, Darren is said to be interested in taking over as national boss. Darren is said to want to do something his father never did and win an international trophy. Sky Sports rate his chances as possible.
Craig Levein
The current manager of Dundee United and ex Hearts boss is said to be one of Scotland's highly rated up and coming managers. Levein is said to be pondering the chance to be the manager as he is unsure whether it would be a possible career killer. Sky Sports rate his chances as high.
Kenny Dalglish
The former Scotland and Liverpool ace striker has been continuously linked to the Scotland job. Many believe Dalglish has the required ambitions to take on the Scotland job. Sky Sports rate his chances as high.

Sky Sports have been told that an announcement will soon be made regarding the vacant National Manager job.

SCOTLAND ANNOUNCE NEW MANAGER
23rd of July 2008

Sky Sports News can reveal that the new manager of Scotland will be now formerly Dundee United boss Craig Levein. Levein takes over from Burley who was sacked earlier this month and has joined on a 2 year deal. The Scottish Football Association have paid Dundee United £500k in compensation for Levein and is said to looking forward to a new challenge.
"Well to manage ones country is an honour I dont think anyone could refuse. I really enjoyed my time at Dundee United and I thank the club for the opportunity of letting me get back on my feet. I had hit hard times after leaving Hearts for Leceister where things didn't work out, I then returned to Scotland with Raith Rovers where things again didn't exactly work well. Dundee United gave me the opportunity of high level Scottish football and it was brilliant there I really liked it, but when ur country comes calling you sort of think to yourself will I ever get this chance again? It's a big risk for me but I'm hoping to thrive on it. Gordon Smith asked me where I would picture Scotland in two years time I replied, that I saw us getting ready for the World Cup 2010 where we would hope to reach the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time in our history. I look forward to helping bring through quality young players onto the national stage and bringing joy back to our tremendous tartan army"
Levein will start his job as Scotland boss in his first game on the 20th of August where Scotland take on Northern Ireland in a friendly. His fixture list is then as follows:
Macedona Away 6th of September World Cup Qualifier
Iceland Away 10th of September World Cup Qualifier
Norway Home 11th of October World Cup Qualifier
Argentina Home 19th of November Friendly
So there we have it folks the new manager of Scotland is Craig Levein, how will the players react to the appointment? Will the side stay similar? Will Barry Ferguson remain captain? You can find all this out by watching Sky Sports News Sky Channel 405 and Freeview channel 83 where we are on 24/7 reporting every daily football news.

BUTCHER SACKED
27th of July 2008
As expected new Scotland manager Craig Levein has decided to ring changes in the backroom staff department at Scotland. Former Motherwell Manager Terry Butcher who was the assistant manager for George Burley has been sacked, Levein was said to be unhappy that a person as strongly English as Butcher is was appointed in the first place "personally I still love the old Scotland vs England rivalry, I know it has died down in recent years but still I don't think it was right Butcher remained as Scotland's assistant manager to myself, in his place I have decided to bring my assistant manager from my time at Dundee United and Hearts Peter Houston in, I have known Peter for many years now and he also shares my ambitions for Scotland"
Well the fall out of this wasn't a happy one with now ex assistant manager Terry Butcher extremely unhappy
"It is racist plain and simple, to sack someone because of there nationality in any job would lead to a court case happening luckily I wont be going that far because with my good friend Burley no longer the national boss I saw no need for carrying on any type of relationship with Scotland"
Butcher will now carry on managing Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Scotland rise from scandal to see off Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland started the match the better team. In the opening 5 minutes they had 2 good chances. The first fell to striker Kyle Lafferty, after a corner was only cleared as far as McCartney he played it Lafferty on the edge of the box and his shot curled narrowely wide. There second chance a minute after Laffertys shot fell to Steven Davis, after a good run by David Healy he played it to Davis who he really should have done better with his shot.
Scotland started to get into the game slowly and Steven Fletcher had 3 chances to score but Maik Taylor did brilliantly to deny him each time.
After starting to dominate slowly, Scotland were rewarded. A Michael McIndoe free kick from just outside the box was met by Kris Boyd who powered the ball in via his head.
1-0 Scotland
Scotland ended the half superbly, McIndoe beat Northern Ireland defender Chris Baird superbly on the wing before passing it to Scott Robertson on the edge who placed it in the bottom right corner of Maik Taylors goal.
2-0 Scotland
Scotland started the second half the way they ended the first, a Michael McIndoe corner was met by Kris Boyd who powered a header in once more.
3-0 Scotland
Despite being 3-0 down Northern Ireland did not give up and had several chances to get itleast 1 back. There best chance fell to Steven Davis on the 84th minute after a great run by Lafferty down the wing his cross was met by Davis and he should have done better.
Scotland 3-0 Northern Ireland
Kris Boyd 2
Scott Robertson
Scotland Line Up: Gordon, Hutton (Whittaker 71), Dixon (Hammel 71), Caldwell, McManus, Brown (Maloney 71), McIndoe, Robertson (Hughes 71), Fletcher (Robson 71), Boyd, Fletcher (Kyle 71)
Man Of The Match: Scotland's Kris Boyd

A Dundee Utd fan making Levein the manager didn't see that coming
Seriously though good story so far, noticed a small mistake though, you said Walter Smith was the manager before Burley but it was McLeish.
Also Sir Alex has already managed Scotland (just in case you didn't know)
Don't want to seem like I am slating it though mate as I think it is brilliant so far and I will defianlty be reading, keep it up

Levein being manager had to happen
My bad about the mistakes, kind of forget about McLeish not sure why tbh, also kind of had a suspicion Sir Alex was manager but didnt know if just made it up in my mind or not.
All feedback is good feedback so I appreciate it

Thanks.

RANGERS PLAYERS TO NOT PLAY FOR SCOTLAND AGAIN
22nd of August 2008
Reports are coming through today from the Scottish Football Association that Scotland manager and the board of directors at the FA have came to an agreement to ban shamed Rangers trio Barry Ferguson, Allan McGregor and Kenny Miller from playing for Scotland ever again. This comes on the back of the trio being allegedly seen at a pub the night before the match vs Northern Ireland singing segregational songs.
What does this mean for Scotland and Rangers? Well firstly Barry Ferguson has been stripped off his captaincy from Scotland and they will now be set to appoint a new captain. With the World Cup Qualifiers just away to start will Scotland be able to survive without these three players thought of being main players in the Scotland squad?. For Rangers, well how will they react? will they stick by their players? You can find all the latest news on this saga right here on Sky Sports News on 24/7 on Sky channel 405 and Freeview channel 83.

Players banned for singing sectarian songs. LOVE IT. My money's on Gordon for the Captaincy, I always like having the keeper in charge, but that's just me. Or you could go with Kris Boyd, but I guess that might cause some friction in the Ranger's dressing room between him and Barry Ferguson.
