Dumb question here, but I've never used Photoshop before & it's driving me nuts! I've got an image that I want to use, insead of the RVP & Bendtner one but, whenever I try to import it, the size is way out. Is there a way to select my new image & simply modify it, so that it fits correctly in the area allocated to the photo?

Every option I find seems to want to increase / decrease the size of the entire graphic, not just the picture.

Of course, if there's an easier tool to use (rather than Photoshop), then I might consider that instead!! :delighted:

If you copy and paste your image into a new canvas and then go to Image > Image Size. That will change the picture size but keep both height and width proportionate to each other, meaning the picture won't look distorted. This only works for reducing the size of a picture. If then you need to crop the picture go to Image > Canvas Size and edit the settings. This will crop the picture to the size you need, but be sure not to crop the wrong part of the picture.

Hope that helps.

Ctrl+T will free transform it. Hold shift down to resize it propotionaly, so it doesnt go two stretchy and stuff. Then just click apply transformation ;)
I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Thanks treva & redsfan. I managed to play around with the image, so that it fit the template I was using. However, that took a lot of work, so I’m glad to hear that there’s an easier way to do it. I might even go back & edit my copy, just to see if it looks better using your methods.

An easy way to take a part of a picture is to create a rectangular box the size of the image space and then drag that box onto your picture. Then you can select the area of that picture you want to fit into the box and copy and paste it. Saves re-sizing the whole image.

Arsenal go through in style

Gallas celebrates the third which endded the game

Two goals from Rafael van der Vaart just before half time, and a late third from William Gallas ensured Arsenal went through to the group stages of UEFA Champions Leauge, winning 8-1 on aggregate.

Despite the first leg thumping Arsenal went into the game with their strongest available squad, as van Basten opted for no surprises. After a slow start, the quality soon shown.

When saving the edited scorboard save it as a PNG and change the width to 600.

TARRA'S BITS AND BOBS - PART ONE - IPLAYER

I'll be uploading some random bits and bobs over the next few days to make your stories have extra graphics etc, things that make the complete match report or news item. First up is the BBC iPlayer, we've seen it before in stories, in the retirement area my Liverpool story, you'll see it used fairly often, so an example is there and I'm sure if you browse around some of the current stories you'll see it elsewhere so there are more examples.

It's simple to do. Add a picture to the PSD file make sure it fits etc to how you like and then make sure the layer in which the iPlayer bar is, is the top layer, above the picture. Save it as a .PNG file and upload through www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.us or any other picture upload site thing.
