Mark my words, I'm pissed off. Not about being sacked, but at the lack of leadership shown by the directors of this club.
It's November, the club is operating at a loss of £200k a month. I've done my part, I restricted my signings to one involving money changing hands. Reduced the wage bill from over the budget to £15k below the budget.
What does the board do? They reduce the budget to "ease costs", putting ourselves at £3k over budget.
A sense of injustice still swarms around my body.
The club should take one of two actions. Either you seek new investment, allow a current board member to take over as Chairman or you take the club into administration, paying the debts at a fraction of their value and restructuring the debt into a manner that allows me, as manager, to take care of my managerial duties without the difficulty of lack of control dangling above me like sh*t covered Sword of Damacles.
What you don't do is continue to rack up debts, damaging the team and the future of the club in the process. I didn't take the job expecting a meteoric rise, those of you who follow this story know I came he because it has the resources to become a well balanced top level club. The administration of the club is holding them back.
I leave in 16th place, but I fear it will be a sudden drop as players are sold and the club does not go into administration, until it is too late.
