Transfer Budget: £0
Wage Budget: -£99,524

Loan Debts Total: £83.2 million

Can you rescue this sinking ship? Start a new game on patch 10.3 as Portsmouth and try and keep them from dissapearing down the leagues.

Not an exact official challenge but one that I think should be pretty fun for members of the site to try and then compare with other members.

I've also started with Portsmouth as well  Lost to Chelsea 2-0, Beat Birmingham 3-1 and lost 3-0 to Aston Villa. Currently playing against Barnsley in Carling Cup 2nd Round. Good challenge so far :) Sent Ukata on loan to Lyon, Hughes to Wigan on loan. Hopefully that's will get rid couples of thousands from the wages bill ;)

Nope. Nothing so far /o\ Atm he's enjoying life at the club. Thrashed Barnsley 2-0 away. Got drawn against Man City away in 3rd round in Carling Cup :(

The problem with challenges where the club is in debt is the contingent nature of FM. Some people may get points docked and fall into administration, whereas some people may be bought out by Saudi billionaires by January and finish in the top half with ease.

As I say though it's not an exact "official" challenge more like just a place where people can discuss on how they do with Pompey with the new restrictions. Could have possibly just been kept in the off topic thread but I think this forum kind of needs to get away from everything being in that thread FM wise.

Anyway back to the Pompey game here is my transfers:

All the players that I loaned out are all 100% wages being paid

Now to the actual football we have started the league terribly although that is mainly due to Pompeys first games:

Pompey 0-2 Man City
Liverpool 5-0 Pompey
Pompey 0-3 Aston Villa
Pompey 2-0 Barnsley (League Cup)
Arsenal 2-1 Pompey

Good to get through in the League Cup I guess, we now have Wigan at home where I hope to get some points so I guess there is a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Bank balance is also -£228 now :D

Edit: Get in there won for the first time this season 2-1 at home to Wigan Zeman and Harewood with the goals :D

Hey nice thread and good challenge. I have started afresh with 10.3 large size database.

my transfers:
OUT:
Kanu 1.3M (to spurs)
Utaka 8.0M (to Lyon, was really lucky here I guess.. though had to pay his part wages)
Rocha loan (0, 100% wages Ipswich)

IN:
Tomas Horava - 21 yr old AM/MC - 375K - Hot prospect
Otamendi - 21 yr old DC - 3.5M - Hot prospect
Lucina Traore- 18 yr old SC - 850K - Tallest player in FM10, decent prospect

Had an execellent start to season as well, undefeated so for (fingers crossed):

Pompey 3-1 Blackburn
Birmingham 0-4 Pompey
Pompey 1-1 Arsenal
Pompey 6-0 Port Vale (League Cup)
Hull 1-2 Pompey
Pompey 3-0 Stoke
West Ham 1-3 Pompey
Bristol 2-4 Pompey (League Cup)
Pompey 2-2 Liverpool

Chelsea is up next..(wish me luck)
but looking at loans gives me a worry-some feeling
have to buy another 4-5 young talented players if I need to sustain... and nobody is ready to buy my txr listed players :(
