I'm bored and lack the energy to go to sleep. I invite you join me in naming songs.
In order of me scrolling through media player.

Agent Orange - Mr. Moto
Akira Yamaoka - Theme of Laura
Bikini Kill - Demirep/For Tammy Rae/False Start
Bjork - Isobel
Black Flag - Armageddon Man
Blur - Battle
Bratmobile - Panik/Kiss & Ride/And I Live In A Town Where the Boys Amputate Their Hearts
The Chemical Brothers - Alive Alone
Comanechi - Rabbit Hole/My Pussy
Daft Punk - Digital Love/Too Long
Daisy Chainsaw - Natural Man
Dead Kennedys - Moon Over Marin/Let's Lynch the Landlord
Echo & the Bunnymen - Killing Moon
Elvis Costello - (I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea
Erase Errata - Dexterity is #2
Hole - Drag/Drown Soda
The Jam - Eton Rifles
Joy Division - Isolation/Digital
The Kinks - David Watts

Madness - One Step Beyond
Metallica - Seek and Destroy
Mika Miko - End of Time/See You There/Sex Jazz/Zombies Take One
The Misfits - Some Kinda Hate
Nirvana - All Apologies
Pink Floyd - Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Porcupine Tree - Voyage 34
The Prodigy - Poison
Queen Adreena - Soda Dreamer/My Silent Undoing
Rage Against the Machine - Down Rodeo
The Specials - Ghost Town
The Velvet Underground - Sister Ray

Ahh. That killed some time. I also discovered that I listen to a lot of bands that are just all around decent. They don't have any songs that make me want to do naughty things to any of the members, like . There's also quite a lot of bands where I only listen to a few songs and I love them. 45 songs there I think. I should make a playlist of that or something.

Blur - Coffee & TV/ Tender
Joy Division - Dead Souls/ Digital/ Disorder/ Love Will Tear Us Apart/ Transmission
Kasabian - Club Foot/ Underdog
The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now/ Don't Look Back Into The Sun
Manic Street Preachers - 4st 7lb/ Faster/ Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayit'swholeworldwouldfallapart/ If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next Jackie Collins Existential Question Time/ Kevin Carter/ Love's Sweet Exile/ Motorcycle Emptiness/ William's Last Words

Vampire Weekend - Campus/ Cousins/ Giving Up The Gun/ I Stand Corrected/ Taxi Cab/ Walcott
We Are Scientists - Impatience/ This Scene Is Dead
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army

Having gone through my entire iTunes library I've realised that there's tons of songs I really, really like, but only a few I truly love. It's also comfirmed that what I already knew - Bloc Party, Joy Division and the Manic Street Preachers are the three artists that stand above the rest. I'd guess around 60-70% of all music I listen to is made by those three.

I also highlighted Ion Square by Bloc Party. It's one of their lesser known songs but as far as I'm concerned it's one of their greatest ever tracks on what was probably their worst album. It just builds and builds and builds up into an amazing climax and lyrically is one of Bloc's best. Have a listen:

"Ion Square"

Ion square, perspex swings
I breathe out, you breathe in
Permanent midnight
Our love, our love
How we've come to depend
On each other to the end
The space between us has disappeared
You finish my, you finish my words for me

I remember how it began
So many great days in a row
Barefoot on Bishopsgate
Trying to find Blake's grave
If we could stay like this in a silver foil
Trapped in amber for a life
Permanent midnight
Our love, our love

I carry your heart here with me
I carry it in my heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart

Who said unbroken happiness
Is a bore, is a bore?
Who said it, my love? I don't mind it
Anymore, anymore
And I reach out a hand over your side of the bed
Pull that blanket over your shoulders exposed to the night
And the hunger of those early years will never return
But I don't mind, I don't mind
'Cause I love my mind when I'm f*cking you
Slowed down to a crawl
Years of crime and the bread line
Have not at all dimmed your shine
So let's stay in, let the sofa be our car
Let's stay in, let the TV be our stars
I found my dancing shoes but they don't fit
All the bright lights do is bore me
They bore me

I carry your heart here with me
I carry it in my heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart

Roy orbison - In dreams
best song ever

massive. probably my favourite spacemen track

a great example of what the 90s emo scene in the us was coming up with. ethereal culmination of so many influences. i guess if a band came out with this today itd be called post-rock or something. what really impresses (me, at least) though is how raw the sound is. bands like tortoise and slint around the same time were doing kind of similar things, but this is so much more urgent, love it. not my favourite of theirs, that'd be balance. but so good. so many bands from that time and that scene were doing such wonderful things, and so different at the same time too. take policy of 3, tintoretto, honeywell. f*ckin a. still maintain that all these and the others besides that could be lumped under the '90s emo' banner are/were the greatest of modern times

Yeh man, Warks reprezennnnnnt. Such a great band. Sucks that J and Sonic Boom still apparently don't get on as a reunion would be great, and I don't like Spiritualized that much
