With the new fixtures announced today I think the time has come to open a Season 10/11 thread for Scottish Football.
I'm quite happy with Aberdeen's opening games. We get most of the "diddy" teams so should make a good start hopefully and make a good title challenge this season.

More than likely we will slip up against them all.
How do you find your clubs opening fixtures?

Kilmarnock on the first game of the season, should be a good one to raise the flag to.
Also very happy that the Ne'er'day derby has been kept.

Watching Rangers week in, week out, the absolute cheating guys like Naismith and McCulloch get away with is disgraceful, and would never happen in established leagues like La Liga.

Quite a tough start, I still come out in a cold sweat when I think about the last time we played Motherwell at Fir Park, then we've got Rangers at Easter Road. I think we're away to St Mirren after that, who I can see going down this season. Everything about them reminds me of Falkirk at this time last year, new manager, best players leaving and very little coming in.

You would have to say its a good start for us unfortunately our form against "diddy" teams is shocking.

I'm feeling quietly optimistic about the new season. We need a fresh start and I have no worries Neil Lennon will hold back no punches when it comes to making the big decisions. His inexperience is a worry but with enough experience around him I feel he can really turn this team around.
I felt good about Mowbray this time last year, however.

Celtic need a lot of change in personnel. Mowbray brought in a lot of average players (Fortune, Ki etc) but a lot of change could end up bringing the same problem it did in January so Lennons got some big decisions to make.
Also, if someone wants to pay £8m for McGeady I'd bite their hand off.

Surely it's about time we won a cup, non?
Also, if Lennon signs Mulgrew for Celtic, squad player or not, then I'm predicting another sh*te season for Celtic.

David Healy sayin he would love a move to Rangers.
I would take him on a year long loan tbh, he would score goals in the SPL.

My predictions for the season ahead:
SPL: Celtic - I think Lennon has the right idea with Celtic and they looked a much better, organised side under him towards the end of the season cup result excepted. Getting someone in to replace Keane will be his modus opperanda and a regular goalscorer in the Keane mould alongside Fortune could see Celtic to the title IMO, especially with Rangers losing key players like Boyd.
First Division: Falkirk - If they get off to a good start against the bigger sides down here like us, Dundee and Dunfermline then the Bairns will easily win this division. Pressley comes in like Butcher did last year with a lot of the fans on his back and demanding his departure. They have a core group of players who can propel them forward in the First such as Marc Twaddle who they signed from us last summer and pacy Carl Finnigan and Ryan Flynn. As for Thistle if we can get off to a strong start I can see us coming top half, with potential SPL expansion in the works a strong season is a must for all of those who have Premier League aspirations. Cowden and Stirling to go down.
Second Division: Livingston - They are a full time side with an excellent youth setup that rivals the best in the country and they keep churning out excellent prospects, after Leigh Griffiths 125k move to Dundee in 2009, Andy Halliday moved to Middlesbrough for 250k this year. Guys like young Keaghan Jacobs and veteran Robbie Winters will be key to the Lions hopes of a 2nd consecutive promotion, look out for Ayr United to win the playoffs ahead of Brechin and Alloa. Forfar to go back down along with Stenhousemuir.
Third Division: Clyde - The Bully Wee have strengthened their options and their chances of promotion well in the summer, signing promising right back Graham Girvan, Celtic youngster Haydn Cochrane and Camelon goalkeeper JC Hutchison alongside the established names of Ally Park, John Stewart, Willie Sawyers and the impressive one time Thistle wonderboy Adam Strachan. keeping Strachan was a masterstroke by Neil Watt and he will do major damage to opposition defences with his trickery and skill.

I don't think last season can be much of a thing to go by tbh. Celtic played under Lennon knowing they had lost the title so they were never really under any pressure apart from trying to keep 2nd place. They played two games that mattered and that was Ross County which they lost and Rangers which they won. I think it's going to be a season of ups and downs for both Old Firm teams.

Healy would be a great replacement for Boyd.
He's proved that when he's got confidence he can score for fun. He supports the club too so he knows what it's all about.
He's only got a year left on his contract so we wouldn't be able to get him on loan, but hopefully he would be cheap since he seems to be out of favour.

I'm dreading the thought of Weir signing on again. I wouldn't mind him as a back-up but if he signs I know he will be first team again and everyone saying he was quality last season needs to remember we only think this because of his age. If he was a younger player that got beat so much because of his pace we wouldn't be praising him so much. It always starts with Weir has been class........considering his age.
I like the guy and think he has really helped us out in tough financial times but we need a new centre back partnership now. I would love Wilson and Webster but Wilson doesn't seem all that loyal tbh.

Celtic after Mohamed Gedo Nagy of Egypt.
Any Rangers fans who know the youth system know much about a kid we've pimnched from you called Chris Ketterer?

Ki was actually one of the better players he brought in. I'd be disappointed to see him leave as he seems to have some good passing ability and some creative flair.

If Ki's good enough to start for South Korea at the World Cup I'm pretty certain he'll be able to hold his own against the might of Inverness Caley and St Mirren, the only issue is how quickly he adapts to the pace and pysicality of the SPL. He's the kind of player we need in this county.

My uncle came round before, his best mate is Kyle Lafferty's cousin and he invited them both up to go to the end of season fancy dress party at Rangers and to stay over for the weekend.
When they went to the party, my uncle only knew 1 or 2 of the players and had been drinking for a while, so he was going up to all the players and saying, "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" "ARE YOU IN THE RESERVES?"
They must have been thinking wtf?
