I'm currently in my first year at Chelsea and have never scored from a corner! I know some players have good heading ability and I need to know how to utilize that. Any tips on how to get your team scoring more from corners?

Thanks in advance,
Grimbo

Generally:

Your tallest player with good jumping and heading, set to challenge keeper (some people have this as your taller centre back).

Someone else good at jumping and heading to Near Post flick on.

People with good movement and heading to attacking either near or far post.

People with good anticipation, positioning and composure to stand at far post.

---

Someone else posted a tactic previously which goes something like this:

Set 2 players to challenge keeper and 2 players to attack near post. Then the player in your team with the best first touch and long shots to stand outside area. Then in your team tactics, set corners to 'outside area' or something along the lines (can't remember the exact words)

The idea is everyone in the opposition is caught up in the box with dealing with the players either disrupting the keeper or moving to the far post, so the man outside has a (relatively) easy shot on goal.

Naturally the players with the highest corner stats to take your corners, don't need to tell you that ;)

Corners to "penalty area".

The outside tactic is a huge bug... You can score from 20 to 40 goals from corners with this tactic. There is no need to use that bug because it really damages the taste of the game.

Challenge keeper is really good way to score.

Put you're tallest center back at the far post, he will usually bag at least 10-15 goals a season (Terry can do that)

Height has no impact on the match engine, look for players with good stats for Heading and Jumping, other stats come into play but they are the main two.

True.

I meant "the best in the air" by saying "tallest" but is was shorter

I have a CB who is only 1m79 and always king in the air

I have my tall striker on challenge GK, one CB to attack near post, the other CB to attack far post, and my next tallest player to attack from near. With delivery to 6 yard box. I also have someone, generally a winger as a short option, and another midfielder lurking outside the area.

This tends to get me 8-10 goals from corners per season, with the CB's generally being the scorers

AKA The corner cheat ;)

I usually have someone attacking the far post, but I found if I always delievered to him I'd get an unrealistic amount of goals. Another corner bug, so I set it to mixed and now I get a totally realistic amount of goals from corners.

Ehmo is such a cheating bastard. His description on Urban Dictionary is no longer applicable to him.

I did say it was a corner cheat. And that someone else posted it. I haven't used it.
