Don't think anyone would have had him before :D Regens are automatically generated, so everyone's game is unique in the different regens they have.

I have had quite a few bargains like that though, quite satisfying.

Would be good to see his progress over the coming seasons, have you got him on a set training schedule?

I don't see why a striker should have high positioning. Positioning is vital for defensive players, while the attacking ones should have high off the ball.

Positioning is a nice stat to have for Strikers, but as you say Off The Ball is the stat you'd rather have for your STs.

To be fair Thierry Henry only has a positioning rating of 8 and we all know he scores goals

You'd probably be better off manually setting the Coaching Assignments, as sometimes doing it Automatically means you get less stars for each category.

Its very important to have your own custom training schedule to get the best out of your wonderkids, they won't quite develop as well if you just leave it alone. I don't know anything about coaching assignments tho lol.

Their development depends on your training, you can get away with using the default training if you're players are getting games. Customised training schedules help player development, they aren't essential to it.

Go to any player on your books, go to their profile, then their Training tab and click on Attributes(next to Overview) To the right there is a Training Category button, press this and change the category. Each category tells you what training categories train what stats. So from this you can make training schedules based on what stats you want to try and improve.

He has done really well for you so far, great goal return. Some of his stats have also gone up so that is promising.

Try and keep the "show recent attribute changes" field ticked (in the top right corner of the players attributes). I always do, it shows how and when the players are improving (or failing). Quite nice to see a young player rocketing in his attributes over the seasons as well.

I can't handle that being ticked, I panic when players stats go down and I start to look for reasons for the stats declining. So in the past I'd blame it on age, the schedule, form, etc Now I just don't worry about it, its a load off my mind \o/

I do however pay attention to the Ast Man's training reports, I like to see where players have improved and declined over the past month. If a player's stats decline for three months in a row, and he isn't 32+ or injured, then I start to look for reasons, and often the reason is either a lack of form, lack of games, the training really just not suiting the player or a combination of these things.
