On last year’s Football Manager series I had an epic career with Scottish giants Rangers (no career on here though), rising them from the bottom playable tier in Scottish Football to winning ten consecutive Scottish Premier League titles on the spin, something I had never achieved before.

Yes, I'm already starting a new career but in my Manchester City career I got the dreaded “save game cannot be loaded” and lost any motivation to restart with them, so I've decided to start up another career with auto-save on with my beloved Rangers.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/osu5nEwBTKLVHYXvNnO1RQV6b0sFjmHleZB6imtn.jpg

So they're predicted to win the League 1 title (as expected) and even the most inept manager could manage to achieve that while Rangers have the largest stadium by far in the league with a 50,987 all-seater stadium. The club currently posses superb training facilities and great youth facilities, something I'd like to use this season. Glasgow Rangers is currently valued at £39 million, something I'll be looking at each season.

One last thing, they're one of only three professional clubs in League 1 - Dunfermline and East Fife are the others.

Just to make it slightly more difficult, I will be playing as Shedender once again and with a reputation of a Sunday League footballer so I doubt the players will be "respecting" me any time soon but seven pre season friendly fixtures have been arranged including games against Hamburg and Sampdoria as I look to get the players use to my tactics a.s.a.p.

2013/14: Pre season round-up

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lAF6ZIT9npRugOqXzWk6VnkbDZGABhMMUvCpbYvb.jpg

With not being able to field any real life summer signings, our pre season program didn't go as bad as expected with just two defeats - perhaps both expected - against Hamburg away and Sampdoria at Ibrox but the good thing is, we weren't disgraced in those games. We did beat our reserve team along with Hyeres, Pau, Cambuslang Rangers and Clyde.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/aKjUzCmH0SqTIxjWbRnFa9NE0zuIyb31wwNh444X.jpg

Eight youngsters departed the club as I didn't deem them "good enough" to make the cut while it also freed up some wages. Jamie Wilson, David Brownlie, Ryan Sinnamon, Dylan Dykes, Scot Whiteside, Sam Lidington, Michael Mossie and Steven Chatterton all departed on frees and I hope they're able to find clubs somewhere.

Starting the campaign with six wins out of seven!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/QJHVaUMhmI3JPTjdYoY74krTXcs3HqjYWwyUxR5o.jpg

Perhaps I couldn't have asked for a better start as Rangers manager as I won seven out of my first eight games, losing in the League Cup second round at home to Dundee United. Lee McCulloch was the star man as he scored five goals in the seven competitive games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/UZ5m7fTek0Pw2QzGg3GQAxiYHmWS03qiKZTwlwLH.jpg

So after three league games we find ourselves top of the table but only on goal difference as we're the only team in the league yet to concede a goal. We are level on points with Stenhousemuir and Dunfermline while Brechin and Stranraer are both currently pointless.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Zf9L0QBDgcz5oia9ai4TDNR7c76fD2ait3xiw9it.jpg

August saw me win my first and I expect of many Manager of the Month awards as I guided my charges to an unbeaten start in the league without conceding a goal with victories over East Fife, Ayr United and Brechin City.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1sO4NBF5EFS51XiFErkZUSvhkHkQHskQBaTEbpx9.jpg

September proved to be a straight forward month as we won all four matches in League One and didn't concede a goal in the final three. The side defeated Stenhousemuir five two, Forfar four nil, Stranraer one nil and Dunfermline two nil while we also advanced to the next round of the Challenge Cup but needed a penalty shoot-out to get past Annan.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/79gj4BJXUbYhlypMvcU07F1QarslKlEGmjIYYLzN.jpg

Our one hundred percent league run has continued as my new charges made it seven wins from as many games, scoring eighteen goals in the process and conceding just the twice so far. We're currently six points clear ahead of Dunfermline while Brechin are propping up the league with a solitary point to their name.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ivPETAvQeMnDv725yvWy0qGU5YrBHgre3DBzlPyo.jpg

Who else could have won the award to be fair? Since being eligible to play for Rangers Football Club after our transfer embargo was lifted, attacking midfielder Nicky Law has been a star performer as he has scored four times in as many appearances.
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HWTT4HSpnZYXvAhZV2uNG8JEYnYpSecjt9B9wWcF.jpg

For the second straight month I have won the League One Manager of the Month award as I managed to guide the side to four consecutive victories in September, including a two nil win against Dunfermline Athletic.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hUvHQyDxWt9na6IpQ6Mxig9si4bShmCj5NYVRr1b.jpg

...and now we're talking.

I made a cheeky request to the board about raising the transfer budget as we didn't have one just to see what they'd say, I didn't think they would actually come back and increase the budget to just over £4 million although at least half that will be going into wages as I can now strengthen the squad in January if I choose too.

I've no intention to go the Rangers way in real life SR67, not at the moment anyway as it would be incredibly unrealistic. I will be looking at making bargain signings, whether they're young or experienced - if they're deemed good enough by me then I'd consider signing them.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/yf1TmQUkFmnZ8ERrWBJeEuQn2xkQfIX5Tl29dxXf.jpg

We have gone eight points clear at the top of the table following an excellent October that has seen us maintain our unbeaten start after picking up maximum points against Arbroath, Airdrie United and East Fife. Brechin City were defeated four one in the Challenge Cup semi final.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HyTWxxsiN1ghao7pc0obLmLS0GTI7jkKI6rHyEMU.jpg

It was to be expected but League 1 is proving to be a stroll so far as we're sitting eight points clear at the summit, ahead of second place Stenhousemuir and we have by far the best goal difference in the division (+25) as we have won every one of our opening ten league fixtures.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/tzzWYTKdOovw4D09phI2gKTqVMs3TXcd3ZJ15IgQ.jpg

For the second straight month the Player of the Month award went to Nicky Law as he found the net twice in three appearances - second and third place couldn't be separated as David Templeton and Lewis MacLeod, both of Rangers came second and third.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/sbTj6S25TRtpiOi5SIvuxPxlHH8glIIPGYfNxcDX.jpg

The Young Player of the Month award went to Lewis MacLeod after his excellent month while star winger Barrie McKay came second this month and some chap from Stenhousemuir came third.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/e3Jx2AHQiLTqFzKqnabs0tLck1Nzvtj3DYtN7dNs.jpg

The first piece of silverware under my reign was won this month after our three nil win over Championship side Morton and that was just part of an excellent month that not only see us progress in the Scottish Cup but also win another four league games to maintain our excellent start.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9vdBmcb36tnTCJNZxnCkhofdqe0m4YttgtuU8pWO.jpg

Fourteen wins from our opening fourteen games has seen us go, ironically enough, fourteen points clear at the top of the table and looking increasing well for promotion to the Scottish Championship and one step away from a return to the top flight of Scottish football, were this great and massive club deserve to be.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/5OGuj97HuHLhs9kKG7ZiLMbKkjlMIWCQthMq8T7W.jpg

Once again Nicky Law has been named PotM after another stunning month for the summer signing as he struck four goals in as many appearances while fellow team mate Barrie McKay came third in the monthly awards.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/l3vOhFmNH9Wz5shrxZQvf0jefbnasEjlgXSZKs33.jpg

Barrie McKay did win an award as he was proudly named November's Young Player of the Month as he had been in excellent form and scored twice in four games, Lewis MacLeod came runner-up this month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kc6OXzXjpK9LRSUdki2HUh7hiaXPppivTaNKsheg.jpg

Yet again I have been proudly named Manager of the Month after picking up four wins from four games as we defeated Brechin City, Ayr United, Stenhousemuir and Forfar Athletic while we only conceded three goals in those four games, scoring sixteen.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kNmgwuHkPJQy9eEc8nqPDJJKxKKCs852r3BLXijS.jpg

We will end the calendar year twenty three points clear at the summit after winning nineteen games out of nineteen so far with second placed Dunfermline Athletic well behind currently as they're level on points with East Fife and Stenhousemuir, in fourth, are two points behind the third and second placed teams.

As the New Year kicked off our excellent domestic form continued with six more victories coming in the Scottish League One. I would manage the side this month to wins over Ayr, Forfar, Brechin, Stenhousemuir, Stranraer and Airdrie as we moved twenty eight points clear.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PiuVS0epf2xAxCMjRk11L07GMBM9uuHoXEsHjlJs.jpg

So with a twenty eight point gap at the top of the League 1 table, we have secured a play-off spot but it's surely just a matter of time before the league title has been won and now it's really all about who secures the play-off spots and survives the drop.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/nYlgcsU9RRdXbtcbKGLOVIZeILWPEcfOS2m9rNUy.jpg

January's Player of the Month award was dominated by players from Rangers - Luca Gasparotto was announced the Player of the Month after some eye-catching performances while David Templeton and Lee Wallace also of Rangers came second and third respectively.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Fjsyvprn1yeinjNF0ZtnzXhwR215MoOMVb5IEN0X.jpg

I'm pleased that full-back Kyle McAusland has been named Young Player of the Month as he's been solid following the injury to Richard Foster, so much that I'm planning on letting Foster depart the club in the summer - either to a new club or released, I haven't decided yet.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hbdp2ldmwN3qj50vxSbeVwaOpPmhIgsSPSbxnTsr.jpg

Surprised? No, neither am I. Once again I have been named the League One Manager of the Month award after guiding the side to six consecutive league victories this month and twenty five out of twenty five over the course of the season, we have been unstoppable in the league so far.

February was a month of celebration as victory over Dunfermline Athletic wrapped up the League One title and then we progressed in the Scottish Cup, beating Inverness 1-0 before keeping two clean sheets against Arbroath and Ayr United.

Well this league title win has been quite easy, hasn't it? So far we have won every one of our twenty eight games while we've scored seventy eight times and conceded just the sixteen so it's good to see the defence has been extremely solid and long may it continue as we'll be entering the Championship next season. Stranraer look doomed at the bottom.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/QEoEehGAKamntTXBVDEO6VN4vpQBa9lSXXG5rnrb.jpg

Yet again I've been named Manager of the Month after winning all three league games this month but it's the only award the team would be given to us this month as no Rangers player was named Player of the Month or Young Player of the Month and that's a little disappointing but I'm sure the players will console themselves with a league winners medal.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/4vGYrVE1Aml82vHGnLItw0p1v6D3dY9CZJoiEKPo.jpg

I'd drop my first points as Rangers manager in March following a nil nil home draw against Stenhousemuir but with the league title already won, I couldn't care less. We remained in the Scottish Cup after a replay victory away to Aberdeen to set up a semi final against rivals Celtic.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/em1Icu1mGyMychL2rq6oMct90QYtjNrRAYNpqDBx.jpg

That disappointing draw at home to Stenhousemuir didn't bother me too much as we're still on course for an unbeaten league season, oh and the fact the league has already been won too. I'm still on course to guide the side to over one hundred points but reaching one hundred goals is going to be difficult as we'd need to score fifteen goals in four games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/PuxOjfgf8mwnSf92iNpyucNOh2NeMzqNRcmPNULw.jpg

Lewis MacLeod was named March's Young Player of the Month after he demonstrated to everyone what he's capable off and why I want him to remain at the club until the day he retires so he can become an Ibrox legend. Barrie McKay came in a close, and apparently it was a close second place.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/1eqKXW7qa8hwhes7Y4fmEgT0Srn7v5vgyhyxidAw.jpg

And as per the norm this season, I've been named Manager of the Month after guiding the side to three league victories from four games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9TDTMoeSWcx7JOvpspIMZZOTr3YFYSIT0WXEVEaw.jpg

I'm pleased to announce that I've finally signed a new five year contract extension that will keep me at Ibrox (unless I get the stinky boot) until May twenty nineteen. It was important I signed the deal as I only had seven weeks remaining on my existing deal. I will early two and a half grand per week, slightly less than what I was previously on.

Haha, unfortunately results like that happen in football all the time alec6247 but we had a good and long unbeaten run and the chance of concluding the league campaign without defeat is still on.

Or maybe I shouldn't Dan?

Harsh K3VO, harsh.

Our chances of winning the Scottish Cup came to an end after a one nil defeat against Celtic while the league campaign ended with a win against Stranraer, a draw against Dunfermline and back to back wins (and clean sheets) against Airdrie and Arbroath.

One hundred and four points, ninety six goals scored, nineteen conceded and thirty four wins from thirty six games - it was a tremendously straight forward campaign for my Rangers side as we eased to the League One title, finishing forty one points ahead of Dunfermline Athletic.

Joining us in the Championship will be Ayr United who won the play-off final while Hearts were relegated from the Premiership along with St. Johnstone so life in the Championship is going to be difficult.

I've been praised by star left back Lee Wallace after guiding the club to an unbeaten season as he encouraged the level of consistency and togetherness in the squad that hardly anyone could equal and no doubt we'll need that togetherness for life in the Championship as that's going to be very difficult indeed.

Well done on the unbeaten season, still trying to do this myself! I thought you would have made it with maximum points but still a great achievement.

Cheers SR67, it was an impressive feat to accomplish but now it's time to concentrate on playing in the Championship, which is going to be difficult.

It was indeed an amazing season Dan, would have been better though if we'd beat Celtic.

Nicky Law was named the Scottish League One Player of the Year after the attacking midfielder found the net twenty three times in thirty three appearances this season, producing a string of stunning performances and really saving our bacon at times, example being away to Dunfermline the day we won the title.

Eight players were named in the Team of the Year - goalkeeper Cammy Bell, central defence duo Luca Gasparotto and Ross Perry, left back Lee Wallace, right winger Barrie McKay, central midfielder Lewis MacLeod, attacking midfielder Nicky Law and striker Jon Daly who could be departing the club this summer.
