Addickted To Winning (A Charlton story) IIIIIIIIIII

I'm bored and I fancy talking FM with all my pals, this is my first FM15 game and by jove we're onto a winner.

Loaded these leagues;



Went unemployed. Sunday rep. English.

Landed at Goyang.

First season; Arrived midway through, finished 6th in the 2nd division
Second season; Finished top of the 2nd division and miraculously won the Korean FA Cup therefore qualifying me for the Asian Champions League
Third season; On going.

Come Monday I'll probably not update this anymore and if I get relegated tonight I'll probably quit and go back to CM 01/02. SO enjoy it while it lasts.

Only six league games to go and she's tight, doesn't help when I've just been beaten 1-0 by Daejeon and my newly signed Canadian CB decided to tear his hamstring on international duty.



Also, as you can see we took the ACL by storm, my team of rice pickers, PE teachers and former Chess child prodigies almost managed to gain one whole point. Almost.

They are my favourite three players, got the Canadian on a free and the two Aussies for about 2k each thanks to Ben Hunt my Australian scout. Only signed them two as I needed two U23 players in my line up due to league rules.

Only realised that on the eve of my first league game too, good old panic buys.

Much like everyone I find players constantly bitching about a lack of playing time to be very tedious, I've also found no work around it bar promising to sell a player, no bids coming in and then the player backing down.

I built a larger squad this year to cope with the cup competitions but all I've done is given myself extra moaning to listen to, next years backups will be comprised of loanees.

For whatever reason I could only offer two year contracts to players this summer and I've only just had my first youth intake at the club (one player worth signing). Are these things bugs or is this truly the way in Korea in FM15?

This is the type of shit that you look back on as you sit by yourself in that little Korean bar knocking back a few guksu's and Hite's as you reflect on your season and the fact you managed to stay up.

Last game of the season and I'm fixing to break Daejeon hearts. In four of my last five games I've taken the lead and thrown it away. But not today. Busan will feel my wrath.

Daejeon with quite an impressive little run there, 7 points from 3 games.

Match fixing Daniel, she's rife in these parts.

Busan certainly felt my mighty wrath.

Into the relegation playoffs we languidly stumble, I blame all of this on Miles and his backup players constantly complaining ways.

Now to make lunch and contemplate Cristaldo's lost form.

Wow blast from the past Hope you beat Busan.

This is what we're up against ladies, I wouldn't begrudge relegation, want a squad reset. I'm rather unhappy with all these moaning bastards.

On the flipside I do fear being unable to shift players at this level as we all know the SI testers don't venture outside the club realms of London.

Right here we go, last game of the wee playoffs, we've clawed this shit back, lets not cock it up.

I've thrown the Canadian straight back into the starting XI, 85% fitness but God damn it this is more important than some silly torn hamstring recovery program.

Cristaldo starts upfront too, mini resurgence during these playoffs, our hopes rest on his shoulders. Crocodile Dundee has been on repeat in the dressing room to serve as motivation.

Shit game, first leg down, second leg to go.

Having no luck talking to players like, yet to get my own way with anything, Cristaldo wanted a new deal, I said no, shit escalated and I've had to offer him an improved contract.

I'm spending too much time fannying on with trivial requests, I need to employ a full time negotiator to handle these situations. Next scouting trip; Paris. Target; Seasoned negotiator.

Too good to go down baby, first season up so all I wanted to do was stay up. Now to build.

I'm going to add an extra squad and put some real thought into my acquisitions, I want to shift some of the moaning sods and fully utilise the loan system. Going to try for a small, young core squad of players.




That right there is a 27 man squad. I want to get that figure down to 23/24 with maybe some 16 year olds in the youth team to provide further backup.

I'm second favourite for the Jeju job, could be an interesting proposition if they come a-knocking. I'm not going to go out my way and apply for it, I do fancy another crack at the top flight with Goyang. Just in the process of trying to shift 8 players, managed to get 1 bid in so far. Bodes well.

Letting a few contracts run will chop about £3k off my £24k a week wage bill, the cap is £24k so that is what we are playing with this season.

Yet to appoint a new scout as none of them are really up to scratch, going to give it a few more weeks and then just take the hit as I desperately need a third man for this operation.

Making moves in the market, got all of my targets at the first time of asking so far, no settling for second best this season (or 11th best for that matter).

Also arranged 11 away friendlies to raise some cash, a tactic I employed many FMs ago in Egypt and also during my Pohang/Jeonbuk days on FM13 or whatever it was. Always a winner.

On the outs I released a few no hopers, Yoo Man-Kee is probably the only player of note who went, was on 1k a week and wasn't what I wanted heading into this season. Glad I managed to shift Oh Ki-Jae, I wasn't looking to shift him as he was my captain and I didn't want to disrupt the squad, he was a decent player once upon a time but age and injuries killed him.



The clubs first ever youth product, promoted straight from the youth team and will provide a good from bench option.



Straight in as my starting AML, good pace, good talent, 10 goals.



Another pacey option, except this time at MC. Debating changing one of my CMs from BBM to something a bit more technical for this boy.



Backup FB on loan. Loans > short term FT players.



As above. Training them both to be DLs too.



Good ST option as Cristaldo and Sung-Hwan (who I've re-signed on loan) did go through some blips last year.



Great loan capture, think he will be my starting RCB alongside the Canadian.



Potentially my starting DMC, that position is up in the air, if you average 7.0 over 3 games you can have it.

A classic 433, rarely deviate from it ever in FM. May move to a 352/343 if the mood strikes me at some point though.

3 games into the season and we have two defeats and one draw, solid performances but just not enough quality uptop. I'm just hoping we find our feet quickly as I don't want to be waiting until the sixth or seventh game of the season for my first win. Want us rolling soon before morale dips.

Have you managed to bring in any scouts?

Team of 3, two are up to scratch and I had to bring in a subpar one just so I could speed up the reporting process. The two that are decent only have JCA/JPA stats around 12 so its not like we have world beaters. Just got them out doing Australia, South Korea and East Asia. Australia has always been a gold mine in FM for solid youth players on the cheap, not EPL standard players but certainly players who are more than good enough to cause some damage in the K-League.

I'm seven league games into the season and I only just got my first win, the 433 was delivering good performances but we weren't finishing our chances. Wanted to move to a 352 or 343 but I lack the wingbacks or MR/MLs for that so I opted for a 532. The change produced a 3-1 win so she will be getting a wee run out in the next few weeks.

The past few weeks it seems every game goes as follows;
- Start well
- Concede
- Play well
- Concede again after the 75th minute
- Collapse
- GK leaves early for his post match bath and we concede every shot from that point on
- The youth lad I promoted comes off the bench, scores a goal, it gets ruled out for offside.
