Over the holidays I didn't play FM much so fell away from my saves. I did mange to relight the old flame with my Celtic career so that is safe and will still be a long term thing.

..but I need something new that I've never done before. A journeyman career. As enjoyable as my Celtic game is I need a real challenge.

I'm not sure where I'll start. It might be club, international or even unemployed. I'll start looking after I've completed my two months of the succession game.

I've decided to start in the Faroe Islands as it gives me a foothold in Europe. The reason for choosing them is they are just north of Scotland and are said to be of Scottish/Irish/Scandinavian decent. It will also be a massive task getting them up the world rankings

I hope to get them in the top 140 before even thinking about moving.

My first choice was the British Virgin Islands but I was unable to make them playable.

First thing to was was to bring in a half decent assistant manager. I choose John Kennedy of Celtic and the plan is to take him with me wherever I go.

With over a month to go until the first fixture I was messing around with the squad and tactics and came up with a counter attacking set-up.

This is the group. Talk about in at the deep end. If I can get one point out of the remaining fixtures I'll be happy as long Kazakhstan don't overtake us.

Up next is San Marino, a game we should win.

It wasn't a glorious win, but it was a win. We had good control of the game and greater a fair amount of chances so overall I was happy.

I'm now going to analyse the match and individual positions as I have about three weeks before the Ireland game.

It was an inevitable loss against such a strong team and tbh I expect more of the same for the next fixtures. I'd settle for a goal in the next three fixtures.

We did have two of our best players missing but not that it would have changed much.

It went from bad to worse. From 5-0 to 8-0. To be fair with 50 shots on goal it could have been a lot worse. Well I did look for a challenge.

I'm just looking forward to getting the qualifiers over with and a few friendlies to climb up the rankings.

We took the lead. We actually took the lead against Sweden. The greatest 12 minutes in Foroe Island's footballing history. We didn't lose too bad either, a great result.

Kazakhstan lost again and face Germany in the final round of fixtures. It looks like we have 2nd last wrapped up.

We couldn't hit a single shot on target yet managed to put the ball in our own net twice. I was aiming to concede less than 4 goals so at least that is a positive to take out of of it.

With the World Cup dream over its time to focus on some friendlies and climb up those FIFA rankings.

We should have won this. Can't believe we threw away a 2-0 lead with only half an hour left to lose.

Next up is Haiti, hopefully we can at least win that.

We done it again. Another two goal collapse, at least we managed to hang on to the draw this time. Hopefully the next round of friendlies provides a win.

I think a change of tactics might be in order. We remain 168th in the FIFA rankings at the moment.

The draw for the upcoming 2016 European Championship. Obviously we are the whipping boys of the group but it would be nice to take a point against Israel or Cyprus.

For once it wasn't us throwing away the lead. We came back from a goal down twice to claim a draw with the Philippines ranked 143rd by FIFA.

The draw moved us up a single place to 167th. Next up we face Palestine before the Euro qualifier against Russia.

I'll tell you one thing I've learnt so far. The breaks between games is very frustrating. Not got another for about 6 months so holiday mode it is.

They're coming along slowly! Another 30 or so places and I can think about moving on haha. I've just been putting it on holiday in-between, I've got Boardwalk Empire to keep me occupied.

Finally a a win. It was a scrappy win. But a win none-the-less. One of the countries most promising players netting the brace against 116th ranked Palestine.

I'd like to note that going into the game we had slipped to 189th in the rankings after the World Cup. In which Spain beat Switzerland with a double in injury time. Ouch.

We have now scored 5 games in a row. I'm very happy with that despite the result. With young Edmunsson netting again to take his tally to four goals and gunning for the record of 10.

The results leave us 173rd in the FIFA rankings. Things are looking up (after the rest of the qualifiers). HA.

Another goal for us. Every time we score in the Euros/World Cup it feels like a win for me. Not the worst result anyway, could have been more.

Next up is Cyprus in another qualifier, hopefully we can pull of a draw.
