Tips for Using the Laser Tape Measure

The laser tape measure is a simple but revolutionary aid compared to conventional measuring devices. It is accurate to 1/8 of an inch up to 300 feet and can measure distances up to 650 feet.

The laser must be appropriately aligned and kept clean

This makes laser measuring tools great for various industries like construction, but it is also a useful item for homeowners. This article covers some tips for using laser tape measures.

Use goals

You usually don't need a target when measuring distances less than 30 meters, provided the laser optics can touch an object. In such cases, even a simple note like Post-It works perfectly as a target.

A reflex target should be used when working at distances greater than 30 meters. Newer laser measures can do the job up to 300 feet in sunlight with no mark. Beyond this distance, however, a reflective target must be measured.

Measure up

Using the handheld laser measuring device for measurement is quite simple. Place it with the object and aim the laser to the distance you want to measure. Press the Meter button for instant distance measurement results. Some of these devices even offer you customs and reading options.

Measure longer distances

When measuring much greater distances under sunlight, it can be not easy to spot laser spots on distant targets. This makes it difficult to know if you count the ideal length. When doing this type of work, use the magnifying viewfinder standard on some laser tape meters. Some top laser distance meters have optical viewfinders for greater magnification.

Additional keys of Laser Measure

The plus and minus buttons are an ideal laser tape measure. Most people will indeed not find these in need and will stick to the basics. However, these buttons can be handy in situations like triangulation when there is no clear goal.

For example, if you measure your house's front, you can walk from the corner to the light and then press the plus button for the other. This measures the same point. If you do this for all sides, you will have one dimension for the entire house. The minus buttons can be used similarly. You can find out more about the digital laser tape measure in the operating instructions for the device.

Clean

Since the device is laser-based, the laser must be appropriately aligned and kept clean. Only then can you get consistently accurate measurements. Get an ideal lens cleaner and use it regularly. Also, you should store these top-rated laser distance meters properly when you are not using them.

This will reduce the risk of potential scratches from other objects in your toolbox. Check the laser alignment regularly, especially if the device is moved frequently. Refer to the model manual for orientation instructions.

FIFA 98 on the PlayStation.

I doubt I would get much enjoyment out of it now but back then I loved it. Great soundtrack too.

Me and my mate Andy used to spend every Saturday morning down at Beatties (anyone remember them?) spending our pocket money on a new team each for our regular Subbuteo sessions at his house. Ahhhh, the memories.

lol yes we used to have home and away games at various houses who ever hosted provided the biscuits๐Ÿ˜
remember playing at a mate's and his Labrador burst into the front room and onto the pitch.....carnage
Bryan Robson suffered almost career ending injuries(not unlike real life)

also remember a mate who thought he had cracked it he adapted his goalkeeper- he removed the body of another keeper and stuck it on top of his keeper...so it was a frankenstein 2 bodied super keeper...however under pressure and crap glue it exploded on trying to save a shot

Happy days mate๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Gives a new impression to a dog pitch invasion.

Was recently looking at ebay on Subbuteo mate, did think of starting again but my all nephews aren't interested in it. One said, it's not proper football compared to FIFA 21. I still digress...

In Leeds in the mid 80s there was a shop that sold loads of subbuteo stuff, even had a hooligan pack to recreate pitch invasions / riots-not uncommon at elland road in the day

Indeed. I was at school mid 80s we played subbuteo loads, even the cricket and rugby versions

My kids think it’s boring, if it doesn’t cost £50 a game with 3D motion capture on PS4 they aren’t interested.

I still play cm 01/02 every now and again, in my opinion the best, simplest, most immersive game ever

Indeed. They have never washed up by hand, had to walk to the tv to change channel or anything.

They have no concept of the physical exertion of Daley Thompson’s Decathlon

My eldest took me to the Cambridge computer museum, a real throwback to happy times, they have original machines and games. SWOS on the Amiga etc

I'm in the process of trying to develop my own multi-format emulator so I can relive playing games such as Kevin Toms' Football Manager, Match Day (1&2), Microprose Soccer, SWOS etc again.

This in addition to continuing my FM19 career which is in season 9 at the moment.

Lee Dixon: the guy who was released by Burnley as a YTS....then won loads of honours at Arsenal.

At the time of Sterland's debut, which also saw the debut of a certain David Seaman as well, the first choice right back was Gary Stevens (as in the former Everton and Rangers right back not the Tottenham player)

Correct on all counts mate.

Mel was sold by Wednesday to Rangers for £800K on deadline day in 1989, Owls fans I recall think Rangers got him on the cheap. He promptly won a SPL title that season but was back in Yorkshire with Leeds that summer, reuniting him with Howard Wilkinson.
