Hi, I have noticed that the captain for each club is not assigned at the start of a new save, in the latest Classic FM data, resulting in “random” captain e.g. Zinchenko being Arsenal captain instead of Odegaard.

Is there a way to fix that?

Captains haven't been touched I don't think. I will look into it why it might be happening.

When I go to download from the site its £10 a year however I can go to https://classicfootballmanager.com/ and its £5 a year, should I sign up from classic and it'll still work?

Those are two different things, sorry I know it's a bit confusing. There's the £10 a year for downloading things like megapacks from our servers rather than free mirrors, this has been around more than 10 years and is how we keep the site running instead of adverts and pays for the storage and bandwidth costs for massive files that are multiple GB's in size.

The £5 is for the Data Update and is a new thing where we're trying to fundkeeping FM24 alive forever. This covers a completely different and new set of costs, primarily a whole army of bots that search the internet and scrape data from websites in order to update player histories and injuries and then AI to try and semi-automate modifications to player abilities and club finances.

Hi, i just bought the Classic FM database. I wanted to start a new game to test it out but it's loading very slow and i also don't know which boxes i need to tick before stating my save. Do y'all have an idea of what's happening?

@redwolf98  You should just be able to visit the FM24 Data Update page and download. Are you seeing green text making it clear you have the updated version?

It will be slower than normal.

Not sure what you mean by not knowing what boxes tick. If you have other editor files then they might interfere so best to leave them unchecked unless you're sure they don't.

The UI in FM is a bit messy so you might find it easier to just move any other files into a different folder then move them back when you want to use them.

For the avoidance of doubt the real name fix definitely works and doesn't need to be unchecked or moved.

My question was if you had to download all the dynamic data's 1-2-3-4-.. and all the dynamic new players, or just the latest one. i didn't really understand that when starting my save

Just use one at a time, they are there so you can have 10 completely unique saves, rather than having the same wonderkids every single save.

Has this update been made for all leagues or only for the big leagues, which we call the top 6? For example, are there any teams in the Turkish Super League among the updates?

Yes nearly all teams and players from all countries have been updated.

An update for Turkish league rules (foreigners etc) is proving difficult, but I assume you are asking about player abilities and club budgets.

Hello, I think there is a problem with the update released today. All transfers in the Turkish league have returned to last season's January transfers. I don't know how the situation is in other countries, but there was no such problem in the update released yesterday.

Yep, English transfers are also back to last year, Martials back at United and I’m having flashbacks

Sorry this was a human error, mods have to manually open the editor and create the fmf version each day (since SI removed the ability to use XML) and it seems like one of the mods uploaded the wrong file. It's being fixed right now.
