Nigel Clough sacked by Derby.

Harsh decision. Only nine games have been played in the Championship this season and they're seven points below the final play-off spot. They haven't won in their last four in all competitions losing to Nottingham Forest and Leicester City back to back but it's still a strange decision to make this early in the season.

Seems to be impatience that's got him. He was the 4th longest serving manager or something and I suppose no home win so far did for him. But its still a fairly dumb decision this early.

On the face of it, it's a bit harsh but if they go and get Pulis in then they'd be much more likely to make the play-offs than just hang around mid-table like they have been doing. Sometimes ruthless decisions have to be made.

Weren't Derby trying to build a young passing team?

If so, Pulis is the wrong move for that system. He always favoured experienced hoofballers for Stoke City, which Mark Hughes is currently attempting to work into a passing game.

Surely Middlesbrough are one of those to prove ruthless decisions have potential to go hideously wrong at this level. They sacked Southgate when they were 4th in 2009-10 and have rarely looked anything like a team that could finish that high, not least given their 'form' in 2013.

It's hard to criticise teams for going for managers like Pulis and Allardyce who you know will give you shit football when it's been proven time and time again to be at least good enough to get you up and more often than not good enough to keep you there a bit as well.

That's why its nice to see Swansea (and to a lesser extent Southampton) doing so well, because they certainly haven't taken the easy option and they're getting rewarded for a bit of long term planning and thinking.

Aye, top result. It's about time we had a good win away from home, feels like ages! Rhodes is a machine, good to see Best scoring too. With Dunn and Rochina both injured it makes more sense to go with them two upfront, I think Cairney's a good player but he's not really suited to playing just behind Rhodes. Watford will be tougher on Tuesday but hopefully we can get a good result.

Few other Championship observations - dunno what's happened to Bolton after Freedman did a good job last season, Dyche is doing an annoyingly good job at Burnley (although they still can't beat us), and Millwall are on fire all of a sudden after being beyond awful first few games.

Yeah was great. Rhodes is amazing will be tough on

Bolton are doing really poor did you see Yeovil goal yesterday ? Awful keeping. Dyche is doing very well this season not sure about the ginger Mourinho tag though ha ha .

Really rate him, i'll be suprised if he doesn't move onto the Premiership very soon, he really lifted the crowd too.

Wouldn't go that far - he has 60 minutes of first team football under his belt. I also have high hopes, but the kid's only 18 and I've seen too many Town youngsters start promisingly and tail off (albeit because they were thrown in for week-in, week-out football much too soon). Handle him well, and we have a complete gem. Ask me how I rate him in a year.

Although he was appointed their manager yesterday, Steve McClaren is not in charge of Derby tonight.

Given they're currently 4-1 down, that's probably a good thing for him.

Great win for Rovers tonight ! We were excellent finally getting a settled side together now. Josh King was again fantastic down the left and that man again Jordan Rhodes gets another goal we defended really well too against a very good Watford side who other than going down pretending to be injured all the time were very good !

9 in 7 now for Rhodes, what a hero! Quality result tonight against a promotion contender. Glad to hear the performance was excellent too! Hopefully we'll get a good result at Wigan on Sunday, they haven't been great this season so far so we should go for the win.

Where the hell did that come from? Derby looked dead and buried at half time.

Really disappointing to lose today. Two individual errors eclipsed a very positive performance. Just never dropped for us in the box - on another day it could have been Town coming away with the win.

Forestieri still a very talented diving wanker. Referee complicit and sodding hopeless - if there's a foul and the lad then runs 30 yards before running into traffic, you don't then award a free-kick where he lost the ball when there's no question of a foul; the advantage has been played and it has been wasted. It isn't your job to ensure they get another chance to get a shot away.

It was a stunning comeback from Bournemouth, especially being two down inside the opening ten minutes.

Just got back from Wigan am gutted Hanley was stupid to get sent off pointless when we are 1-0 up and then they scored a scrappy goal and a another off a very debatable free kick which could have gone either way !

If anyone wants a good laugh tomorrow we're live on Sky vs. Pompey at 12, kick off at quarter past. See what I have to put up with week in week out.

His interview on Tuesday night was painful - I really felt for the guy, no matter that his results just weren't good enough. Maybe management was just beyond him (although it's not particularly fair to judge on 13 games at the start of his managerial career).

Sheffield United's squad is good enough for the play-offs, just something obviously hasn't clicked. Confidence is low, and they can't score goals. Whoever takes over, though, has a great job. I reckon Nigel Clough will be in the running.

Played 15 Won 1, i think the decision was taken sooner rather than later as the board were really really worried that it could be a relegation season for us, im glad the they've removed him so someone can come in and still get us into the PO's.

If Gary McKenzie hasn't ended another professional's career at some point with his consistent cowardly, thuggish attacks on other players then it's a minor miracle. And he gets away with it all the time. Just got away with a stamp on James McLean which actually saw McLean sent off (completely wrongly). Utter, utter disgrace of a footballer.

And now we're fucked. Vaughan sent off in an incident that should have been a yellow either way. Their lad comes across to block and catches Vaughan. Vaughan gives him a shove in the back. Ref has a moment where his brain forgets to function. Vaughan off. Fucking fantastic. As ever, we're playing those bastards without a key man because of shit reffing.
