What is Dzeko meant to be good at?

I don't mean it in a negative way, he's clearly a good player and will stand out for a club a little bit down the global pecking order or who would integrate him a bit better (would be an unreal signing for a few clubs, and think he'd do well at Dortmund as Lewandowski's replacement) but I've never really looked at him and thought there was anything particularly special about him.

I was for a while, then it was Dzeko's fault being a lazy sod.

You seem to hate a lot of your own players.

Not sure I hate any of our players tbh. There's just a few (Dzeko, Kolarov, Garcia, and more recently, Hart) that really annoy me.

Our team for the Sunderland game: Pantilimon, Richards, Demichelis, Lescott, Kolarov, Milner, Toure (C), Garcia, Nasri, Aguero, Negredo.

Not altogether confident.

Bendtner looks like a tramp.

Lots of tramps smell like piss.

Ergo, probably him.

I believe he's 'ill' at the moment rather than injured. It's fucking dragging on, though.

One of our youngsters - touted as the next Zlatan - scored this golazo today:

Too bad he'll probably never live up to his potential at Man City.

Abdi Ibrahim, who's spent the two last seasons on loan at Strømsgodset from Man City, said in an interview recently that he felt sorry for young talents signing for City as 'they would never get a chance of playing'. He's now been linked with a move to a bunch of Premier League, Ligue 1 and Eredivisie sides for the past month or so.

Yeah, sure.

The reason he's never made it at City is because he's not very good. NEC actually sent him back (after putting him in the reserves) because he was so average. Credit to his agent though, he's managed to get him in the paper consistently, linked to teams that he's nowhere near good enough for.

That said, he has a bit of a point. Bobby Manc and Mark Hughes were far too hesitant to give the kids a chance in the first team. I doubt it'll carry on like that under Pellegrini and the Soriano/Begiristain regime.

Apparently changing the name to Melbourne City FC as well.

As an Aussie I am kind of confused to the greater point of this for city.

I'm thinking maybe a way around financial fair play.

Buy players using the Heart and then sell or loan them to City.

It's just marketing isn't it?

I'm sure if City wanted a club to farm players through they'd have picked a European one, I'm pretty sure they have/are going to have a similar deal to this with one of the MLS franchises.

No, it's nothing to do with FFP. The board and/or owners seem have the idea of a grand-plan to make 'City' a global brand, with Man City as the centre-piece and a series of lesser affiliated clubs. I suspect the only real benefits to City will be through marketing and an improved presence in Australia for scouting.

Indeed, we've already bought our own MLS franchise, New York City.

Surely they need to sell a club now to balance FFP books

Melbourne City sounds a lot better than Melbourne Heart, which sounds a tad gay.

They have a lot of work to do.

The club they bought is the 'second Melbourne' team, notoriously shit and has very very small fan base.

Youse wanted to buy Sydney FC first but the takeover was rejected last year.

Given the people we have running the club it probably won't be staying that way.
