I'm glad I have someone to actively root against now, anyway.

Started playing like Welbeck.

I meant with someone throwing a drink at him from the crowd.
Boring match.

Genuine question, do you find that surprising?
Even on paper England's defence looks frail and inexperienced.
Jason
Inexperienced on what basis? A world cup basis or top level football basis? If you mean overall they certainly aren't inexperienced.
Gary Cahill has played for Chelsea in the Premier League 66 times and Bolton 130 times.
Phil Jagielka has played for Everton in the Premier League 204 times, for a team that rarely finish outside the top 7
Leighton Baines has again played for Everton in the Premier League 231 times.
Glen Johnson has played for 4 different Premier League clubs, 130, 58, 41 and 15 times.
Clearly aren't inexperienced... unless you mean at a World Cup,but even then, the experience at the top level of football should ease the amount of experience you need.

I'm talking in terms of experience against high quality opposition, big game experience, top level, etc. Just because a player plays regular club football doesn't always result in having the level of quality experience needed, given the fact they don't face top level players on a consistent week-to-week basis.
Correct me if I'm wrong but either Jagielka or Baines have been reasonably tested beyond the EPL competition. Good players, but they both lack experience against the cream of the crop, which only Cahill and Johnson have. Even then, Johnson isn't overly defensively solid and is more comfortable getting forward himself, something that can expose a defence if the overall quality isn't there to cover.
When you look at England's defensive depth it does stand out as the weak point, given the options Hodgson has gone/been left with in terms of quality and high quality experience.
