I have a pretty powerful PC, i have selected 20 leagues with large database and 100,000 players, the game says i will only get 1 star performance, what the hell would it take to have every league then?

My PC is

i7-3770k @ 4ghz
16gb of 2400mhz DDR3
2TB Solid State Hybrid Drive
Nvidia GTX 970 4gb

I'm shocked that i can only run the game with only 20 leagues!

You don't need 20 leagues, and 100,000 players.

FM is a 32-bit game and can't make use of more than 4 GB of memory, that puts a ceiling on how many leagues you can run even on ungodly powerful systems. It simply isn't programmed for it.

You don't need 20 leagues and 100,000 players to have a "great" experience.

It won;t make your experience that much greater than me, who runs 41,000 players and 11 leagues, that's overkill for me, and my system is only slightly better than yours.

You have to remember your gonna be managing a team so you only need around 20-30 players at any one time, I'm sure you'd be able to find them with only 30,000 players loaded.

Or are you going to tell me your going to sit and look through 100,000 player profiles?

Maybe you do, i just made my point that you don't really need that many players.

I certainly wouldn't sacrifice game speed for more players/leagues.

Well i have been playing it and its lightning quick on my cpu even with 20 nations and 100,000 players so that star rating is a load of bollocks.

Give it a few years in game, when regens come into your game it will slow down quite a bit.

Its worth mentioning that the more leagues/players loaded the more susceptible the game is to save game errors/loading errors/crash dumps.

After a few google searchs the majority of people especially with i7 cpus have almost all of the nations selected.

I highly doubt that, very much. Unless they're idiots.

A quick google search came up with this thread on the official si website, and at the time im posting this, nobody has stated they load every league up.

Loading many leagues and players adds realism and creates a greater sense of immersion, it's much more fun to meet a team with real players than one filled with greyed-out names and it's fun to look at what goes on elsewhere in the simulated football world as time passes. The new scouting system doesn't really work properly with clubs from leagues that aren't loaded either.

I usually end up with somewhere between 70 and 100k players and ~30 leagues loaded in my saves. It's not quick, but I usually do other stuff while playing FM anyway so I don't mind.

To get back to the point, like I said in my previous post, FM is limited by the fact that it is a 32-bit game and can't make full use of more than 4 GB of memory. Having lots of leagues and players loaded is much more a drain on memory than it is on processing power, which makes the limitations pretty obvious.

I know my club gets about 25 new youth players in each season, so imagine the amount of teams that have been loaded in game, say 200, then you must times that by the 25 (5,000) each season this is the amount of new players generated in game im sure less than that have retired each season.

This only happens mostly with teams that are playable/view only. its a lot less for those clubs not in the playable/viewed leagues

I usually select about 20 leagues, but only the one im playing in is a playable nation. The rest are all view only and I alter the database size settings so that all the players from top divisions in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal & Holland are loaded.

The overall number of players remains fairly constant. The game only keeps the newgens that are good enough to be signed and a lot of players retire.
