Lamela will come in only if Bale goes to Real. As far as I know, Real do not have enough money to pay us the transfer fee for Bale and they haven't paid the bill for Modric yet.

Edit: Willian spotted at Heathrow.

Tottenham and Manchester City have obviously planned out their windows properly and have both done extremely well. Arsenal don't have a fucking clue.

If Tottenham do sign Willian, as annoying as it'll be, at least they stole him from under the noses of Liverpool.

Dempsey Mk. II, only he's much better.

Liverpool as well, IMO.

It's really terrifying now, I genuinely think that Liverpool can overtake us, and we'll end up in 6th.

I'm not too worried about Liverpool at this point. They're good and we're not looking too great but there was still a huge gap between ourselves and them last season. I'm far more concerned about Spurs right now.

If Arsenal don't sign anyone before the end of the window, it really is time for Wenger to go, his attitude about the "we have good youngsters" is pathetic, and could cost them millions if they don't finish in the top 4.

Forget Top 4,Tottenham actually look like title contenders now.Liverpool and Arsenal have absolutely no chance of qualifying for CL this season.

Arsenal are rumoured with Pjanic and have entered the race for Lamela.

I've been rating Pjanic during his days at Lyon, would love to see him in the Premier League.

His excuses are baffling. The whole argument about not being able to buy quality players is nonsense as our neighbours down the road - you know, the ones without Champions League football - have bought a number of players who would immediately improve us.

It breaks my heart to see it come to this but my head says it's the beginning of the end for Wenger.

I think intent is the more important factor.

Man City want the title back and have appointed a new manager and are willing to go and buy his targets. And Spurs are probably desperate to avoid a repeat of the last couple of years so are really going big this summer.

City and Spurs had DOF's last season and both had poor summers.

I don't know about Spurs but we didn't have a DoF last summer. Marwood was there to do the negotiations but he wasn't the one picking the players in the way Begiristain or Baldini have.

Rumours from Twitter - Willian has signed for Tottenham for a reported £30m fee

Spurs should know better be careful if Bale decide to stay! They already spend over £86m (if deal for Willian) some new players!

I don't think it's anything to do with planning the window out, they're just doing things quickly.

Willian only became available about a week or so ago and they've already agreed a fee and got him in the country about to sign.

They just go into the transfer with the thought that they're going to sign that player so they negotiate until it's done. If an offers rejected, they put a new one in. Utd are putting an offer in, waiting a couple weeks, putting another offer in and so on, until they eventually give up and move on to someone else.

Goal.com 'exclusive':

Manchester United have re-opened informal dialogue with Chelsea over the proposed sale of Wayne Rooney - and have also enquired as to the availability of Juan Mata as part of discussions.

Goal understands that despite continued public insistence from United manager David Moyes that Rooney is not for sale, officials from both clubs have held informal dialogue over a potential deal for the forward in the last 48 hours.

Central to those talks has been the disparity in the two clubs' valuation of the Rooney, with United are holding out for £40 million having instantly rejected Chelsea’s second bid for the 27-year-old, worth around £30m.

However, United have also used discussions to reiterate their interest in Mata, who was rumoured along with David Luiz to be offered to the Premier League champions as part of the Blues’ initial offer for Rooney.

If Mata is leaving Chelsea for Roone y I'd be pissed. Can't see it happening but it would be the most retarded thing to do. Mata > Rooney.

Didn't Chelsea come out and say that no players were offered in the initial deal? Why even mention that in the 'story'?
