Premium Membership Downloading Speed

I find the download speed is way too slow, im running on fiber connection and the max speed i can get is only 150 kb/ secs.

The speed is not acceptable. Im downloading the mega facepack and the metallic logo.

I'm getting 1.3mb/sec, and I'm from Malta and my download speed is generally as shit as can be. Do you have anything else downloading in the background perhaps?

Yep it seems to be quite slow.. I'm getting around 400 kB/s.. It's doable but I expected more to be honest. And no I am not downloading anything else and I have 200M connection so it's not limiting it. Oh well at least I am supporting a great community <3

It's slow today as we've been having some issues, the downloads server crashed and it needs to resync all the files, really sorry about that.

I can confirm this. Trying to download the face megapack with 50Mb broadband and I couldn't get more than 50Kb/s. The download failed on all 4 occasions that I tried getting it. I'll try again tomorrow though.

Essentially what's been happening recently is that our downloads server crashed (we host downloads separately from the mainsite to try and get the fastest possible speed) and i've been trying to rebuild it, in the meantime you've all been downloading from the same server as the forums run on, but with some restrictions so that it doesn't effect the speed of general browsing.

I've just put the downloads server back live again now and I think it should be working, so hopefully it should mean you'll be getting faster downloads again

Sorry to bump this up, but I didnt want to start a new thread. I purchased the premium upgrade on Thursday and the max speed I have seen is 300kb/s. I was getting faster speeds on the free mirrors.

Is this as fast as it goes or is there problems with the server?

Can you tell me what file it is your downloading and what the the url is, it should be viewable in your browser but I can't tell you specifically unless I know what browser you're using. The domain should either be getfiles.co.uk or us62977184620748879.dynamiccloudserver.info

I too purchased the premium membership and only getting downloads at about 150 kb/s and none of the downloads have made it all the way without the download stopping for some reason. I usually get about 1.5 -2.0 mb/s download speeds here in the U.S. Do you know if there is anything else I can do or itmay be easier for me to download the files in pieces rather than the full one.

Thanks alot for donating, as you may have noticed we've had some problems with our server since the weekend with intermittent crashing, i've been working on it for the past few days and hopefully it will be better soon

Still working on it, made some changes at 5.30pm Dec 27th so hopefully improved, any feedback on speeds would be much appreciated. It's especially useful if you do a test on http://www.speedtest.net/ at the same time to compare.

Once you've run the speedtest you should have the option to copy a link which you can post in this topic, if your speeds are really different between the download and the speedtest then we know there's a problem

I got 11 mbps on my speed test but only getting 300 kb/s on my download. Which is a little better than before but not nearly what I should be getting...

I'm now getting a download speed of around 2.1 MB/s which is great (I was getting around 150 KB/s yesterday), but I still can't get the facepack to download all the way - it's still terminating after around 1GB.

I've also tried to download the logo pack. The download speed is the same as the facepack, but is also terminating at around 1GB.

For info, my speedtest is around 31.99 Mb/s.

I added premium membership on Christmas Day, since a friend gifted me with FM 2014 (couldn't afford to get it otherwise with bills). I have been able to download most things (even though the logos took a bit), but no matter what, I can't get the facepack to download past the 1 gig mark now. Before the speed was improved, it would still not get very far and would be corrupted.

My speedtest is: 35.63 Mbps download.

Hi i have added premium membership last night mainly for the reason of getting a stable download of the mega face pack and the badge packs. Both of these downloads struggle to get past 1gb before closing down with an unexpected error message. I have a good broadband package and have done speed checks and anything else works fine. I am using 7zip for extracting and i understand the procedure for installing these packs as have had them for past editions of FM.
I am getting frustrated as i have tried both packs about half a dozen times and still the error message after approx 10 mins of d/loading.
Could you be so kind as to let me know when there is a fix as i have better things to do with the time than d/loading these files if there is a constant fault.
I will just be patient. Have a good day and look forward to hearing from somebody

Latest- Still no fix or communication, i will be honest and say that i paid to "Donate" to sortitoutsi so that i could get a quick,stable and working download of the packs,which was promised.
The speed issue is fixed,stablity is as mentioned stops with error message after just over 1 gb, and if it works remains to be seen as unable to try.
I do feel a little bit like im not getting my moneys worth yet.

@22.49 29/12 Got to 5.2gb first time it has got much over 1gb have deleted all other d/load traces and trying again,will keep informed,if it works for me it will work for everyone.

@23.50 29/12 Nope 5.2 again,guess i will have to wait until a dozen other people have this issue before there is another fix.

Same here. Speed isn't the problem - that's been fixed - the problem is that it times out after 1GB.

Exactly the same issue as above.
Paid for premium membership, tried to download the mega pack file and it cuts out just after 1GB.
Tried several browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and it's the exact same.
Hope this issue gets resolved ASAP. Kind of feel a little bad about spending my money.

Please note that 300 KB/s = 2.34 Mb/s, Chrome and Firefox show speeds in KB/s and the speed test in Mb/s. So no you're not using the full amount of your bandwidth but you are you getting around 20% which is not unusual for a single file to not use all of the bandwidth at once.

Hey guys I am looking into this, just made a change and am testing it now, anyone reading this who has had a SUCCESSFUL download please post, as far as i'm concerned it's not working for anyone right now and it would be useful to know if it is infact working for some people.

Mine is constantly around 450 kb/s my problem is the download keeps stopping then I have to start again.

It stopped again around half the download done and its saying unexpected end to archive. I'm only trying to download the metalic megapack of logos. No problem downloading from other websites only here.

Wish I didn't bother with premium membership now.

i just downloaded it ok, it took a while though

Sorry the problem has only been around for a few days and I have been working around the clock to fix it. I think it should be fixed now if you were to try again
