Bit of a strange one, this one so far.

Dunno about Lascelles and Gouffran, but Perez has been very shit.

What the fuck was Ciaran Clark doing?

Between no signings, own goals, lethargy and all the rest, we're doing our best to throw this shit away.

Gouffran nearly gave 2 goals away through either a poor touch or not bothering to track his man, then pressed claims for his upfront berth which he feels he deserves by missing an absolute sitter.

Perez was awful too. Everyone was really - except Ritchie.
Though Ritchie was the fucking worst of them
Alarmed with Benitez' post match comments about how he 'doesn't know' why we didnt sign anybody and that he's dissapointed.

Be the biggest mistake of all Ashley's huge monumental mistakes if he lets Benitez slip through his fingers
Ahead of the 6 toughest home games of the season (Brighton, Leeds, Manchester City, Reading, Newcastle, Villa), it's worth saying that even if from here on in it does go pear-shaped this team has given the fans a fantastic season, beyond our expectations. Top half would have been a fine finish, and a big part of me still doesn't expect us to stay the course after others strengthened significantly, so to be here at this stage is an achievement.

I'd love us to carry on and go all the way. And I hope we do. To fall short would be agonising. But considering how far we've come in the last 15 months we have so much to be proud of. Huddersfield has fallen back in love with its team, and there's a connection I've never seen before at the club between players and fans. It stands us in good stead for the future. I'm proud to be a Town fan this season. And that's all that matters.

Or Benitez is making excuses to cover his own bad decisions?

Impressive result for Huddersfield tonight. Maybe Brighton and Newcastle aren't nailed on for the automatic places after all?

Honeslty surprised at how cheaply goals are being given away in the Championship nowadays. First one for Huddersfield looked offside to me anyway, but keeper beaten at the near post shouldn't be happening. Brighton's goal was an actual meltdown in Huddersfield defence. Wells' goal was quite unlucky given the assist came from a deflection but the third goal again, Stockdale (who was sheet all night tbh) with an absoulte stinker. Taking nothing away from Huddersfield of course, they play some cracking football and fully deserved their win tonight, but deary me some of the defending on show (especially on Brighton's side) was quite dramatic.

Clearly January does seem to be a wedge between gaffer and owner. Which bodes well. While the consensus is that he's not quite prepared to walk away, its certainly an unwelcome and potentially destabilising thing.

I suppose the events of the last 48 hours do make it easier to look at the thing and wonder if it might be about to unravel. Again. The first emergence of "Rafa considering future" stories doesn't help. Granted we're in a more desirable position than others - most wins and goals of the division, similar points total and gap to third as in 2009/10 with what increasingly looks an arguably weaker squad, have points on the board, and doing better than the other 2 teams who came down with us - but it would be nice if, for once, things just went fucking plain sailing. Clearly I've learned nothing from the past 15 years plus other historical examples.

Worth pointing out that Brighton had conceded only 18 goals all season before tonight. If they were poor at the back, it was because we forced them into errors and capitalised on them. Stockdale ended up keeping the score down (how he saved VLP's drive from the edge of the box I have no idea), along with a friendly outside of the post. Granted, Brighton were awful, but that was because we were brilliant. Their midfield couldn't lay a glove on ours. Mooy, cock-up backpass aside, controlled the game. Hogg allowed him to do that (and was probably man of the match for his tireless work).

Now for Sunday and Leeds. Hopefully not a case of after the Lord Mayor's show. I expect we'll make some changes.

Not really, we've not been doing too bad in the league.

I'm more concerned about what happens at the end of the season if we don't back him properly.
Have to say i probably enjoy watching the Championship more than the Premier League, quality is good and anyone can beat anyone though i won't include Rotherham in that.

The raft of articles suggesting departure at the end of the season doesn't help.

For the last few seasons, yes. But I'm enjoying the Premier League more and the Championship less this season. Funny that.

We've been shite. Bar the odd 20 minutes here and there.
Performance wise we haven't been sweeping people away bar a few games, but results wise we're doing just fine.
I'm not happy with the results, lose tomorrow and we'll be right back in the mire. Our wage budget is probably bigger than Reading, Leeds and Huddersfield combined.

The performances have usually been dreadful, the tactics awful, and the players seem to be getting worse. He squandered £55m in the Summer - and seems to mismanage the playing staff awfully.(Leaving Sels in has probably done him a lot of harm), (Hate to be that guy but maybe if you didn't buy Hanley, Sels, Lazaar, Gamez and Murphy - you could have afforded someone in January)

And strange decisions, Ameobi is back in the team now? Why did he loan him out? Has he brought him back in an attempt to prove a point about how little he has been backed? Or did he want to get rid of a player he hadn't actually see play, because he wants his own signings?

We're doing better than the last two times we were down here where we pissed the league.

Results have been good.
I assumed that Ameobi's inclusion was down to Atsu being at ACON and the lack of a new winger requiring an alternative solution, and the expiry of his loan at Bolton making him provide that. Both a winger and a new CM were the ideal Jan signings (and maybe an upgrade on Mitrovic as back-up to Gayle, but that would've been more difficult to find) so it may well have been a placeholder. But I would disagree the point about extra signings - we made a £30million profit on players in the summer, and while incorrect thinking is that it would get 2 £10-15m players, the club was keen to say in the summer they didn't need to sell anyone. Makes one wonder about the renewed caution.

Either way, 3 points today was a must after this week's shenanigans. Thank mercy for a whopping deflection, Tom Ince missing an own goal and DeAndre Yedlin's positioning.

All the best to Connor Goldson. Hope he comes back stronger than ever
In the words of Jan Vertonghen on Twitter: Little update: We are s***!!!

Fekking lost at fekking Shrewsbury again. Thank god I'm not doing away games anymore I might have topped myself in Shropshire which is basically Wales to me anyway. Tragic stuff all around.

Football is a sport upheld to benefit capitalist elites anyway. Come on you Darts or Water Polo or Squash or something less frustrating!!!

Short take on today: YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Slightly longer take on today: What a win. Coming at this time, against that team, after the performance and result on Thursday, this is a fantastic result. And a deserved one. Justice in the end. We were more dangerous, played all the football and stood up to their rough stuff extremely well.

A word on the spat at the end: Fuck off, Monk. You know exactly what you did. Wagner over-celebrated a last-minute winner in a local derby - it's called passion. You then deliberately barged him and set off a mass brawl. To then come out in the press conference and say you have humility and respect is a downright lie.

unlucky with the deflection and goal at the end. Wagner has no class at all and as he said "its our biggest game of the season" sums huddersfield up to be honest

Ah, I see you've swallowed Pravda lock, stock and barrel.
Not a clue why but when I woke up this morning I genuinely thought 3 points might be likelier from Norwich on Tuesday than tonight. Maybe its something to do with Wolves' FA Cup run, but it sounds as though they didn't really do much.

Ho hum. Not a pretty game, but 11 away wins all season - 2 shy of the club's record - is still pretty cool.

Ahead after 24 seconds, behind after 19 minutes. Hmmmm... not good. And trust it to be the case to go from "defending won it on Saturday" to 2 errors making Jerome look good.

Huddersfield only 4 points off the automatic places now! Great effort.

I know I can't talk being a Rovers fan but how bad are Villa? Bruce got some good results at first but they've been dire lately.

Another one goal defeat tonight for us, Akpan's goal at the end should have stood then he got sent off for placing his hands on the referee - not pushing him. Still though you can't expect to have to score 3 goals to win every game and the league table doesn't lie, so it's another step closer to League 1....awful.
http://i45.tinypic.com/35jcvmr.png
Well, could've been worse for us and I suppose a draw against a Norwich side who have been in good form at home of late is not a terrible result. But the 18 chances missed isn't a great stat. Very weird night psychologically too, given all the topsy-turvy scorelines in our game and seemingly all of the challengers' ones.

And yeah - the likes of Huddersfield and also Reading, neither of whom I thought would be top 6 challengers this season, are showing a great effort. Decent comeback wins today as well. Props too for Leeds, although I did think this might be the campaign they might challenge for a play-off spot.

I don't really wanna jinx it on Villa given we play them next and at SJP our form could be a lot better, but for all the cash they've spent this year, they should be a lot higher.

Fek me that was shite. Hope MK Dons fans don't sue us for some sort of human right violation and want their money back. They'd have good arguments for that tbh.

Well, I mean, our players tried, like they really tried and put in a shift but you could see there was like no quality at all in our midfield (think the ball hab more time in the air than on the pitch). We looked pretty dire in the first half and when Vaughan came off we somehow looked even worse. Just pray to god that Vaughan is okay, otherwise we are in for a fekkin laugh.

I need a proper lie down
