Man City home for an opener. Spiffing.

Given it contains Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Everton and a Tyne-Wear Derby, December could be a brutal month.

Roy Keane has been named the assistant manager at Aston Villa.

I reckon Lambert will be gone after 10-15 games and Keane will step in as manager.

Fucking hell I'd be more annoyed about Villa advertising it.

Burnley, WBA, Villa, Sunderland, Leicester, QPR, Palace, Hull - Going to be a big scrap there.

I think Palace and Sunderland will be alright.

I reckon Hull will be fine.

WBA and Villa could be in trouble though, agreed. Burnley and QPR are also givens, although I think Leicester have the capacity to pull off survival.

Joe Cole’s time at Liverpool wasn’t exactly the stuff of dreams.

The creative midfielder signed for the Reds from Chelsea in 2010, and after ominously getting sent off on his debut, failed to light the Kop up, making just 26 Premier League appearances before moving back to hometown club West Ham.

Now at Aston Villa, Cole has reflected on what went wrong at Liverpool, a move he’s previously said he regrets making.

The exact provenance of the interview below is unclear, but they are genuine quotes, in which Cole says Liverpool’s insistence that they’re still the biggest club in England, despite not winning the league title since 1990, in the pre-Premier League era, was a reason behind his discontent at Anfield.

He doesn't actually say that himself.

Not going by those quotes anyway.

Its an odd news article, how can you say they are genuine quotes yet not know where the interview came from?

He's right though. You hear Rodgers say "one of the biggest clubs in the country/ world" all the bloody time. The other big sides don't need to constantly say it in order to appease their fans.
