The Germans winning ugly again - not particularly convincing in their last few games, but they're showing that ability to grind out a result, which could be what's needed to win a World Cup.

Not really, he was being introduced into the team gradually and definitely would have been somewhat regular in the first team next season. You could make the case that he should have been fast tracked but tbh he didn't do anything particularly special when he was given games to demand it.

All that became irrelevant when Raioli stuck his claws in anyway, and there's rumours flying around that his departure may have been for somewhat more legal reasons than footballing one.s

I can only really go by what Ferdinand said on TV the other day and that was that Ferguson decided to drop Pogba and instead chose others to play there who would have been out of position, think that made sense. Obviously Pogba overreacted but Ferdinand did say that Ferguson made a big mistake letting him leave and for so cheap too.

He ran his contract down and didn't accept our offer of a renewal, not so much a case of letting him go as him leaving.

That game was against Blackburn, if memory serves Park and Rafael played ahead of him, I can understand why that pissed Pogba off but I can also understand why Ferguson picked two more experienced players in an important game (our failure to win that basically lost us the league), especially given that Pogba had yet to make any sort of promise on his obvious potential for the first team.

I think for Fergie it eventually became a point of principle, he wasn't willing to suck Pogba's cock to get him to stay, regardless of how talented he obviously was because it became a precedent for other young talent to demand stuff of the club. It happens, its a shame because he'd be our best midfielder, but I can understand it from both sides.
