Wait time between contract offer?

I've had a few players reject my contract offers because I couldn't afford to offer what they were asking for. Now I cannot offer them a contract as it's red, how long do I have to wait before they are willing to speak to the club again?

You may need to wait a few weeks/months and just hope no one has snapped them up.

Sometimes it's instant though but I think it depends on the league(s).
