Yea, but usually it goes down to who did better in the Clasico that season... Only know that Atletico came in to the picture that it has become a little more competitive.

It's just a different challenge. You might not be able to win the league in those games, but you can definitely lose it. I just think La Liga requires a level of consistency that you don't necessarily need in the PL because even if you drop points you know that the teams around you will drop points too.
Lol at these comments before he gets something ridiculous like 98 points with City next season

1. Chelsea
2. Arsenal
3. United
4. City

--------------

18. Bournemouth
19. Leicester
20. Watford

tbh

You're still in the prediction game?
Look, my predictions are top, top quality
You need, far, far more points to beat Real Madrid to the title in Spain than you do in England.

That said, I think Pep will struggle more with City too, but because their team is far shitter than anything he's worked with before rather than because he's a bad manager.

While yes, one would need more points to do that. That's more of a reflection on how lopsided La Liga is though. The only games that a side like Barca needs to really show up for over the course of the year are the games against Real Madrid and Atletico. Beyond that, they're more or less able to cruise through in second or third gear, relying simply on individual quality to get the points needed. Germany is a similar situation too while he's been there.

Pep is going to be in for quite a shock I think and England will really test him. There's more opportunity to drop points, the competition overall is much tougher, and more consistent. Factor that in with the expectations of winning the Champions League (more so if they fail to do it this year), which is really why Pep has been brought in more than anything, it's going to be his biggest challenge to date.

Its a bit of a moot point though because teams aren't better against Manchester City in isolation, they're also better against their rivals. Whilst the team thats better against the worse tams invariably wins the league in England thats equally true in La Liga where a failure to 'cruise through' games can cost you the league; the margin for failure is a damn sight lower in La Liga.

But either way, the bigger problem is not that the Premier League is 'better', its that Manchester City are comparatively not as good as Bayern or Barca are in their leagues and that the players they do have don't immediately scream a Guardiola side. It's hard to judge though, because obviously he'll have the money to overhaul the squad, but with this side as is I think thats the reason he'll struggle and nothing whatsoever to do with competitive leagues.
Huth and Fellaini both banned for three matches which seems a shockingly sensible decision by the FA.

Sad they couldn't follow that through for the Tottenham vs Chelsea match though.
Yeah I think that is the right call on Fellaini/Huth. Though as far as Chelsea v Spurs goes, sensible might well have seen Costa, Fabregas, & every Spurs player apart from Lloris and Kane banned.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have released Gabriel Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux from their contracts early. Good riddance.

What did Fabregas do?
There is 0 doubts in my mind that Cesc was a key instigator in it all

Plus there were rumours he was slapping Spurs players in the bollocks

Did he actually do anything to get sent off though?

I'd have had Walker for his kick, Dier for trying to kill Fabregas and Lamela for his stamp on retrospective bans. The others (notably Rose and Costa) get away with just about not doing enough to warrant going back to have a look at it.

Can't believe Lamela stepped on his hand. What was he thinking? Fabregas' face was right there and he missed it.

Probably not, was exactly the same at us. A snide little fucker.

If this happens I will be the first to proclaim Guardiola the best manager alive... but I seriously doubt it. I can actually see City struggling for top 4 next season

Yeah, because arguably the manager in the world is definitely going to struggle when given a decent squad and hundreds of millions of pounds to spend as he sees fit.
Part of me wants to see him fail
Sometimes you have to stand in the shadows; to see the light.

6 game ban for Dembele, seems abit much when you look at bans others have got for similar things this season.
Pretty special around here at the moment, most of the shops and houses adorned in blue and white leicester stuff and almost everyone walking home past my shop in kit. I'm going to the pub after work to watch the game, bound to be one he'll of a party when Wes Morgan lifts the trophy.

Focusing in my own team for a second I can actually see us being the ass hole team with no reason to show up who goes out of their way to spite another, I'm going for a 1-0 win over Newcastle today.
Fucking hell, Fellaini gets banned and we somehow put out a worse side than usual.

Resting players when we've still got a chance of top four. Criminal.
And Martial's injured himself in the warm up. Yay.

Van Gal just wants to ride off into the sunset with the FA cup, doesn't look like 4th or 5th matters much to him.

Martial injured in the warm up and Rojo starting.

Tempted not to watch tbh.

At least he's playing centre-back rather than left-back. He looked remotely competent at centre-back last season.

(obviously he's going to cost us the game now).

Good job we rested players today, hey? Otherwise we might have started to get some injuries...

Well at least Louis was able to get his standard full back substitution in early.

Bit weird but I wouldn't worry too much. You've got a game in hand on us and we've still got a match against Arsenal to lose.

Are you trying to outdo us in pessimism?
"Memphis had a reputation for scoring freekicks at PSV."

*hits the wall*

Every fucking time.
I love listening to United and City fans this season.

Its basically become:
"We're shit"
"We're even shitter"
"And we're worse than that"
"But, we're really, really shit"

Has he actually scored one this season?
