@krissmed, I saw this after my earlier post, but the cut is very jagged around the edges. With a background as clear (and easy) as that, it shouldn't really be the case.

What program and which technique are you using? Also, remember to save the final cut as a png - you saved your attachment as jpg, which does not allow the transparency necessary for a cut
@mons, I am using gimp but i am having problem with smoothing out the edges, the link in the post is no longer working, at least for me. I am using gimp, and the technique i am using is to zoom in and delete the pixels the is from the background. I see now that some of the cuts i did earlier was pretty shit. Thanks anyway, I will keep posting my work in here until I get good enough.

Not sure if this YouTube video helps, as I've never used Gimp.

Ideally, you would use Photoshop as it's got lots more options and capabilities and it's much easier to cut with it...
@mons The only reason i am using gimp instead of photoshop is because it's free, if you have a way i can get it free, i would love to use photoshop instead.

I obviously can't recommend that you download a pirated copy of a more recent version, but I believe there's a link in the opening post in which you can download Photoshop CS2 legally for free. It may not have the full functionality of the later versions, but I believe it'd still be much better for cutting than Gimp...
Ok, thanks,I will try it out. @mons

Hope you manage to get it downloaded and you manage to work it
It seems like it's no longer for free, at least not for me. @mons

Can you follow these steps?
I cant remember how to get rid of the backgrounds on photos. Can anybody help me make it transparent please.

If this is your first cut,I can't wait to see more, since this is really good, only try to put head on the center,to have same free\blank\empty space between both sides.

Thanks, mate. Do you think this would make it in the megapack?

Not bad at all.

The edges are slightly jagged, especially the hair and the right-side of the head (as we look at it). So keep an eye out for that in the future.

And ideally, before you start on the cut, you rotate the face so that the eyes and ears are on the same line, as the face is slightly slanted at the moment.

But that's being finicky and that's a very solid start There are much worse cuts in the megapack, I'll tell you that
I'm getting a white glow around my cuts in a dark background how do I stop this please.

There's a video in the OP on how to remove snow, it'd be very useful for cases such as this...
@krissmed mate, try to cut them as much closer to the chin as you can. Also, when you have longer neck as you had with this one,use this "trick" to have shirt visiable,as I said before all cuts should have at least small part of the shirt You're getting better from cut to cut, just little more practice and those cuts will be perfect

Thanks @BajaHater, is this better?

As you see he needs to be cleaned more than this.

Also as I said before,as much closer to the chin, but with shit visiable. That should look kind like this, but I didn't cut him either, this is just an example.

Strange request from me seeing as I'm a Celtic fan! But is there any way to save and obtain these images of the Rangers squad from the website?

Open the page in Firefox, right click on the page and select 'view page info'. Go to the Media tab and find the correct background image and click the save as. That's about it.

Hello,

Is this an aceptable cut-out?

Thanks.

It seems that part of his hair is missing from the top right and the collar needed a tiny bit of cleaning on from left, but that took me two seconds to fix so it wasn't a big deal in this case. I would personally clean up the collar too, but that's not something you should worry about and the overall quality seems quite good and it's definitely acceptable with the hair fixed.
