I looked on the FK Košice website and found a tip to get larger images for their players, so that they can have better quality/less blurry cutouts 😉

Open the player's profile image in a new tab, and change the bit of the URL below in red:

@muserock2a Also, it would help to be more selective in the sources you choose when making cutouts. If the person has already had a cutout made in the last year that is very high quality, like this person, and his appearance hasn't changed much at all, it doesn't make much sense to make a new cutout that's a lot blurrier or lower quality.

There are a few other cutouts in this pack (e.g. Jan Papaj, David Filinsky, Dominik Sváček, Tomas Gerat) that are also quite blurry - in these cases, it would either be better to make those 180px cutouts, or try and look for other sources that are higher resolution/quality. (fyi @mons)

Maybe one of the sources on this page might be a bit better - his hair is slightly shorter but worth giving it a go 👍

@muserock2a Was this source pre-cut? Unfortunately there's a lot of red background left in the beard.

@dazzybeat Although the source image is of a good size/quality, it's an old source from 2019 that has had the Udinese kit photoshopped on

@JoeMoon1506 Firstly, the EXIF data from the source image shows that the photo was taken on 3 September 2019, so it's not any more recent than the cutout currently in the megapack.

Secondly, your cutout is a bit blurry - particularly evident in the edges of the hair which contain some snow, too. If you used this smaller image to put through remove.bg, you can use these steps to get the full-size image which would be less blurry.

The image I found was from the roster/plantilla page.

In the dropdown that says “Tracciato”, select “Forma” instead.

What setting are you using for the pen tool? I use it set to “Shape” in the upper-left menu, with settings like this for example for a solid colour fill (and use Stroke for a line border if needed):

This creates a vector path that you should be able to edit afterwards. By the sound of your post, you're using the pen tool set to “Path” and then trying to create a selection from the path instead of making a shape from it. Keeping it as a vector shape means you can move the path nodes around, change the shape size without losing image quality and can easily change the fill colour by double clicking the icon in the Layers panel.

@diogoamaral Where did you find the source image for this cutout? He looks younger than in photos from his recent twitter posts (and with a different hairstyle) so I suspect it's a few years old.

edit: it's from summer 2019 so it won't be an improvement over a more recent cutout.

Just a matter of removing this part from the image URL - when you've seen enough similar URLs you'll know when to spot ones that can be edited to get higher resolution images 😉

@TiagoSeattle The source image doesn't need to be resized down to 250px, only the game ready cutouts – you just need to crop the source image to the area around the face so the remove.bg cutout is as close to the original size as possible. Making the source image smaller will just mean it's more difficult to get a good cutout of the hair details.

If you're using trhe Chrome browser, you can right-click the image on the team roster or player page and click “Inspect” in the right-click menu. This will open up the DevTools panel, and the image link shows here on the right-hand side:

Alternatively, if you use Firefox, you can open the image on the player page directly from the right-click menu. Not sure why Chrome doesn't have that feature though.

Another method is to use an image downloader browser extension (there are two linked in the source links thread).

Windows 10/Chrome 96.0.4664.45. I tried in Firefox just now to see if it's browser-specific, and the left sidebar still has the horizontal and vertical sidebar (despite using a 1440p monitor!), but refreshing the page works properly in Firefox and returns to where I was scrolled to before.

Recreated the logo as best I could. They use a two-colour version on their white away kit

Shoulder patch is the coat of arms of the city of Shkodër, where the club is based.

The kit manufacturer is Suzmar - seems to be a one-person design company, they have an instagram and a facebook page but I can't find any images of the logo used on the kit.

@mons @P-Jo FYI, this cutout is of Nico Rieble (and vice versa), it seems the photographer mislabelled the photos.

The edges are a bit rough and there's snow around the hair - and part of the left ear is transparent. The image quality of the source looks decent though, it could be an improvement if the source was cut from scratch to fix those issues.
