We didn't manage to get our first win on the table but it sure feels like one after Shaun Whalley's late equaliser. Peter Till scored to put Tamworth ahead with a great long range strike before Bakare levelled for us with a good finish from a tight angle. Sloppy defending allowed Tamworth to go back in-front from a corner before the impressive Whalley equalised with a long range strike three minutes from time.

We were outclassed against a good Cambridge side. I fully expect them to be one of the sides near the top of the table and their a full-time side so are a lot fitter than us. Two goals in the first half killed us off so hoping we can improve and get our first win of the season in our next game.

Disappointing defeat against Alfreton who I believe will be one of our relegation rivals this season. After two early goals for the hosts, Scott Kay pulled a goal back but to be honest, we never looked like getting an equaliser. It's a shame as we did play quite well, just didn't seem prolific enough- hopefully the front players will start to gel soon.

First game of the season out the way with a well earned draw against Grimsby. Shaun Whalley put us ahead with a good strike before Brodie equalised late on. Whalley played really well, expecting big things from him in the role just behind the two strikers- he's predominantly a winger but I think he has good enough stats to play in the middle as an inside forward.

Sorry for the delay with sending on- been in hospital for a few days so been a bit of a hectic time but I'm on the mend now.

The season is about to start and I've made my signings for this transfer window, ones that I'm extremely happy with. I signed 4 strikers in Denton, Madjo, Pericard and Suarez and two wingers in Fairclough and Mackreth. I've now spent all my transfer budget of 5k and I'm 1k into the red of my wage budget.

Alex Denton


17-year old Alex Denton has joined on loan for the season from League Two side Rotherham. He's only a young lad but hopefully we can give him a bit of game time and he can bag a few goals along the way. He won't be my starting striker but will be a regular off the bench.

Guy Madjo


This is an absolute coup for a club as little as ours. He turned down League Two side Rochdale to join us and becomes our highest paid player on a three year contract. He's scored goals prolifically in the Football League so hopefully his experience will be valuable for us.

Mikel Suarez


Targetman Mikel Suarez joined us for 4.5k from non-league side Tonbridge. He works hard and is a strong player so will be a good impact player for us, on cheap wages as well.

Vincent Pericard


Another coup for a side like us, especially a semi-professional side like us as we signed former Juventus striker Vincent Pericard. His experience should be valuable and he'll be my starting striker alongside Madjo. With that front pair, we should have no trouble staying in the league.

Ben Fairclough


The pacy winger joins us from BSN side Boston United. He was on a non-contract deal there so joins us on a free transfer. Pace is definitely something that will hurt players at this league- will be a good player to bring off the bench.

Jack Mackreth


My final signing is that of Macclesfield winger Jack Mackreth. Extremely underrated on this game and only really has pace- got him on loan until the end of the season, will be another good impact player to bring off the bench.

So, I've started my first long term game on this years series. I've decided to go with Southport and after looking at their squad, it will be a struggle however I do believe I can be successful. They are predicted to finish 11th but that is very optimistic- I will be aiming to avoid relegation and then build on from there.



Looking at the squad, I'll be looking to strengthen the attacking third but will leave the defence as it is.

Good win against fourth placed Braintree. Oshodi got our first with a header from a corner, The Kluk scored a 30-yarder (really rate this player) and Fleetwood bagged to keep up his good form since his move from Luton.

Horrible return for Fleetwood and Lawless at Luton as we were battered by six goals to one. We were outclassed in every department and deserved a beating, now six points off the play offs.

I'll get this completed and sent on later on today.

Poor result to end our good run.

Brilliant win against 6th placed Wrexham. Ben Wright grabbed another goal for us and Klukowski scored from the penalty spot. 4 points off play offs now with 2 games in hand.

Very good win against a strong Newport side who are currently one point ahead of us. Ben Wright kept up his brilliant form and seems to be forming a great partnership with Fleetwood.

Knocked out of the FA Trophy in the quarter finals- it's a shame but now this can put our main focus on the league.

Well earned draw against fellow play off contenders Hereford. Could of snatched it at the end too but Fleetwood's 89th minute goal was ruled out. Luton up next in the FA Trophy 4th round.

Disappointing result. Went two up thanks to two goals from Fleetwood but completely fell apart after that.

Good win away against Woking to keep us in contention for the play-offs. Fleetwood bagged on his debut and also got man of the match, McGeouch and Lopez got the other goals to grab us a vital win.

Through to the 4th round of the FA Trophy after an under-strength side beat Bath. Dani Lopez scored on his debut and Ben Wright kept up his impressive goalscoring form.

Only 10 days into January but I've already made 5 new signing, no more are expected. Summer signing Alan O'Brien, Reece Styche and Chris Stokes have all left the club on free transfers.

Alex Lawless


Talented centre midfielder who can also play in defence joins us from table-topping side Luton. Lawless has previously played for the club a few seasons back so knows the club well so should have no trouble adapting.

David Grof


Frenchman Grof joins the club as our new first choice goalkeeper. Got good attributes so should be a good acquisition, especially on a free transfer.

Dani Lopez


Spanish striker Lopez joins the side from League One team Stevenage. Got good all round attributes for a striker, especially at this level. Hopeful this guy can be the answer to our goalscoring troubles.

Noel Makombo-Eboma


One for the future. At only 16 years of age he looks promising, will go straight into the under 18 squad.

Stuart Fleetwood


Finally got the man who I believe will truly fire us towards promotion. Fleetwood is a prolific goalscorer at this level and has been at the club previously before his big money move to Charlton a few seasons ago. Got extremely high hopes for this guy.

A convincing win against bottom placed side Nuneaton. The defence kept up their streak of three matches without conceding whilst two second-half goals from Ben Wright grabbed the win for us. We have Bath next in the 2nd round of the FA Trophy, should win convincingly.

Another bore draw, absolutely not good enough. Our defence is rock solid but nothing in attack, got a bid in for Stuart Fleetwood- just waiting for funds from player sales. This leaves us 9 points from the play off positions but we do have two games in hand.

Only played 4 matches and no goals. I placed him in the reserves, not a fan tbh- way too slow.

Bore draw against fellow play-off contenders Newport County. We got quite lucky as they had a goal disallowed in the final minute. Will be looking to improve the squad in January (which is in a few days time). We're really missing Bignall so a striker will be my main priority.

Got our first league match out of the way which fortunately ended up with a win. It all looked bleak after going 1-0 down and the sending off of Al Bangura, however substitute James Norwood stole the show with 2 late goals to grab us the win.

Right, started it again and first game done.



A convincing win against Woking puts us through to the 2nd round of the FA Trophy. Unfortunately our win came at a cost as our top scorer Nicholas Bignall was ruled out for 4 months through injury. Contemplating making a bid for Luton striker Stuart Fleetwood as his replacement.
