Hmmm in fairness - after watching MOTD and the analysis - it does look like all of the goals just come from Norwich having a lot more bodies in the box than usual.

Norwich were maybe the worst team I've ever seen defensively. They couldn't cope with any sort of direct ball

Going forward I actually thought they played well, Mbokani, Redmond, Olsson and Brady in particular. - Newcastle definitely rode their luck at times.

Can't see Norwich doing very well as they look totally unorganised and unable to keep clean sheets. Reckon them and Bournemouth are in for a very long season.

Sissoko and Wijnaldum were simultaneously excellent and also got turned over by Howson and Dorrans for a lot of the game. Can't really work that one out.

Surprised no one has thought of doing it before.

I wonder how many managers/club officials have ever made reference to a player being 'too old' as a reason for selling / not offering a new deal.

Amazing - How we're down to our 3rd choice 'keeper so often. It's seems nearly impossible.

In other news it seems Shane Ferguson is the player most likely to be representing Newcastle at the Euros. Amazing.

Bad news for Liverpool fans. As Allardyce and Pulis guarentee survival via never being relegated, ergo Liverpool will get relegated this year.

Klopp, Pardew and Martinez only current managers to get relegated?

Wouldn't mind him, tbh.

Imagine Brendan's love of shite number 10s mixed with Carr's love of shite number 10's.

Sunderland have appointed Sam Allardyce.

Great. As if he wasn't smug enough when he beat us with Blackburn.

Literally the only manager who Newcastle have triumphed over in the past 19 games

That's Sunderland safe then.

Hmmm, Allardyce looked liked he didn't have the fight in him at West Ham. Wait and see I guess.

(Hummels isn't actually that good)

I can't see Klopp bringing across anyone tbh. Kuba and Grosskreutz and Kehl may have been useful, but they've all gone now.

Either way it's absolutely amazing he's willing to go to Liverpool. He'll almost certainly reenergize Liverpool in the short term.

I've just read a Liverpool Echo article on the 'transfer committee' - a bit weird that the club are blocking moves for Ashley Williams and Ryan Bertrand to buy much, much more expensive equivalents. I mean what's the fucking point?

Also explains why the likes of Aspas seemed to get a bit shafted.

Klopp is arguably just an exaggerated Rodgers. - ie he rejuvenated a massive club, (more successfully and longer than Rodgers did) before it came crashing down and he couldn't fix it.

Albeit it's very hard when you lose Lewandowski and Gotze and can't replace them properly. Reus and Gundogan got badly injured as well.

We've got most of the hard games out of the way - West Ham and Watford maybe the only two I would be expecting to win. Everton and Sours maybe the only two 'hard' games remaining. So Newcastle need to be aiming to get something like 25/33 points - from the 'easier' games

It wasn't that bad tbh - Newcastle should have been two up if it wasn't for another bad decision - and Man City looked like they may have fallen apart.

But after the equalizer, Man City were incredible, Aguero was absolutely clinical, he was proper world class. And yes their was three individual errors for the first three goals - But absolutely incredible exploitation by Man City. After that their tails were up and suddenly their team looked excellent again.

It was a million miles better than the horror shows of Sheffield Wednesday, Watford, West Ham and Swansea. And I'd say better than Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal as Newcastle actually looked dangerous, even if their defence was pretty ropey.

The team should hopefully be completely different by January. As in McClaren has functioned them into some semblance of organisation or purpose. And if McClaren hasn't, a new manager will hopefully be able to do so.

If Mitrovic can begin to add a goal threat and Wijnaldum stop playing shite, then Newcastle should look a lot better. A DM and a winger with pace would definitely be my priorities.

I reckon buying a LB at this stage would be 'shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic'. What's the urge to buy one anyway? Haidara has had a better season than Janmaat.

I can win easily on professional, but so many times they cut through me before their striker belts it out for a throw in from 2 yards.

Are you'r not finding the AI is a bit knackered, like you'll try and play an easy pass to the LB and the AI will make you attempt to pass to the marked winger? That sort of thing.

so much better at literally everything.

holds his position too which colback NEVER does

I like my players to play with freedom and expression. m8. But if you prefer players who track back, good for you , I like entertainment.

But nah seriously, I don't know, I like Anita but he often seems a bit limited? He's possibly been our player of the season mind.

Mad how he couldnt get a game for Rangers yet back pockets pedro and hazard with relative ease.

If Mitrovic stops dishing RKO's out he could be fantastic too.

Anita a million times the player colback is, btw.

Really? I've got nothing against Anita, but, really?

I blame McClaren for throwing the lead away, Mitrovic should have been taken off 15 mins earlier as was fucked. Made no sense to carry on with two up front especially when Chelsea scored their first. Being on another midfielder and try to keep hold of the ball whilst also offering some protection for the defence.

Newcastle were only playing with 1 up front. Mitrovic was buying cheap free kicks and getting us further up the field. And it's hard to bring on another midfielder when you don't have one on the bench.

Tbf it was at least an improvement on the hideous double against Watford and Sheffield Wednesday reserves. Although I've only seen MOTD highlights.

It was much improved, although Chelsea were really bad.

Seemed to have a lot more purpose and strategy when we play a much better team. Perez had his first good game in ages, Mitrovic was excellent and Mbabu is quite possibly the worlds greatest player.
