He scored, that's all that matters. Nearly missing an open goal is better than any of your lot can do though.

By standing offside...... It was awful play, he should of cost his side the chance of a goal.

You're complaining about Demichellis not being sent off, surely because he wasn't it was therefore great defensive play?

I don't have online yet, I assume I need to buy a subscription? (PS4)

I also haven't really played FIFA in a couple of years, so would like to get used to it again, before playing a bunch of thundercunts.

Also £8m it's sometimes shit how small time British politics is, can't even buy a good full back for that money.

Just played my first game. Shocked how bad it was.

The AI seems stupid, the passing is awful, yet to find out about the shooting, as Hellas Verona made incoherent yet successful passes.

The fact George Osborne has pretty much gotten away with scrapping school dinners for kids is the more serious issue tbh, the whole pig dick thing has gotten him off the hook

Erm, did we ever have this? Apparently brought in under Cameron.

I remember paying for mine under Blair and Brown.

This is true, However Pardew has the distinction of actually achieving a top ten finish in a full season, unlike every other manager since Bobby Robson. And I personally feel 3/4 is a good ratio. Not as good as Robson's 3/3 or Keegan's 4/4 but still good. Before Keegan it was Willie McFaul who finished 8th in 87/89, relegated the next year, Before than it was 76/77 with a 5th place finish. (Relegated the next season)

So yeah, Pardew achieved more top finishes than Newcastle did over a twenty year period.

And aye Pardew will get fund out the first 9 months are notoriously easy, just ask McClaren.

Would it help if we gave you Debuchy back?

We're not that bad ffs.

Out of interest, what do Newcastle fans on here want from your club? It's clear that you think you should be substantially better than this current team is, but under Pardew when you were a mid-table club with the occasional finish too most complained bitterly about that too. So presumably you expect what? Regular European football? Top half finishes and the odd cup run?

Basically what we don't have. In Pardew's last full season, we went out the cups early but spent most of the season in the top 8, before a late collapse. People became obsessed with the cups, and how Newcastle were killing football, and how football should be about trophies and not cash etc. It ignored that Newcastle were knocked out the cups by two PL sides, Man City (the eventual winners) who we took to extra time in the League Cup. And Cardiff in the FA Cup, we were shite that day, but Pardew went to win, no doubt about it.

Where as the season we finished 16th, the very enjoyable run to the QF of the Europa gets completely whitewashed from history. As does the run to the QF of the Carling Cup last year. Because cup runs are shite when you're getting beat every week.

Ultimately the reason Pardew was so hated. Was merely he stuck around. Allardyce, Hughton, Souness, Roeder, Robson, Keegan, Gullit and Dalglish all went pretty much as soon as things have went wrong. I think Pardew is the only manager who I've ever seen allowed to steady the ship after a bad run.

A large number of fans just started blindly slating him, insisting his football was defensive or hoofball regardless of what was happening, always lucky when he won, always at fault for defeat. Insisting he doesn't have the balls to drop players, or that he's got favourites for when the 'star' players do get dropped.

Roeder finished top 10 with newcastle every season too except the one where he didn't too?

What a strange thing to say

Because basically 3.5 seasons is a better indicator than 1. A 75% success ratio is better than 0%

And Pardew at least had the mitigating factors of Cisse off form, Ba leaving, Cabaye going in a sulk, Taylor breaking himself, HBA missing most of the season. Most of which was out of his control.

Yeah its very weirdly phrased. And not least given Pardew finished 12th in his first half-season as well as the 16th in 2012/13, and we were lucky to get top 10 in 2013/14 - were it not for Cabaye and Remy we would have been significantly lower.

I don't think Pardew is as good as he thinks he is, but long before the end at NUFC, he looked like he wanted to move. That's fine - sometimes, its time for things to reach a point of ending. But we waited six months to replace him with a Derby County reject on Carr's personal argument, and everything has fallen to shit in the meantime. Early days, yeah, but not promising so far.

I'm also getting it in the neck from a Watford fan I know after Lee Ryder called Watford "pygmies in a land of giants" in an op-ed piece earlier this week. I mean, Christ on a bike.

Why was he lucky? Over the course of the season Newcastle were the tenth best side, no luck whatsoever.

Pretty sure Jesus himself couldn't transform Newcastle into a top half club

Pards is more tactically astute than Jesus, got Palace there in half a season.

He finished top ten in every season as Newcastle manager, aside from that one where all of our players simultaneously went off form/got injured.

Apparently since Pardew left, Newcastle have acquired 15 points, Alan has achieved 40 points.

Btw remember when shola said we'd finish in the top half

No I said we should be in the top half. Which we would be easily if we would allow someone like Alan Pardew to run the club.

Unfortunately we are stuck with Carr and Charnley. Who have absolutely ruined the club and will continue to do so.

Thought Anita was alright, but Colback was poor again. I think they're bot hamstring by being too similar without any clear role.

Reckon it's just a problem of our midfield just looking weird, totally unorganised and spread out, without any sort of organisation or strategy.

Would be tempted to put Mbemba in at DM, Colback & Wijnaldum at CM. Try something different.

McClaren seems hopeless as well.

Starts every game in 4-2-3-1. Newcastle are then overrun in the first twenty. West Ham have no width on the right and a CB at full back. It's not hard, keep Wijnaldum, Anita and Colback tight, and push a winger right up against Tomkins.

The two goals were awful and self inflicted. Darryl Janmaat being shite followed by Mbemba taking a chance rather than clearing his lines. Followed by a stupid, stupid counter attack goal.

Also fucking love reading tweets about how it's everyone else's fault that the new signing is shit. Every fucking season, get a grip.

This is the bit where Pardew drops the fancy new signigns, chucks in Ameobi and Obertan and we win a few. Using the cunning tactic of width and pace. Rather than the progressive tactic of having three narrow number 10's turning inside and passing back.

Also fair fucks to Janmaat he may he hopeless but at least he ran around a bit.

Also whats the Bundesliga pace like? Dont watch it enough to call but Fermino looks so slow at times and so little creativity. Expected more from him. Also Cans very frustrating.

Bundesliga is just as quick as PL. But there is loads more space. Counter attacking 3 vs 3's and such are a lot more common.

I was amazed Brendan paid £28m for him. Must have a really good youtube video.

Holland: Cillessen, Van der Wiel, De Vrij, Bruma, Riedewald, Klaassen, Sneijder, Blind, Narsingh, Van Persie, Depay

Is it a shock that team is getting beat?

Not a shock, it's just incredible how quickly they've fallen.

They look a bit of the international equivalent of Spurs. From a distance they look good, but when you state at them up close you wonder where the good players are.

But then who replace Michu? Gomis is still considerably inferior to Bony anyway, and left Swansea with one senior forward on the books + loanee Nelson Oliviera.

And that presumably means Newcastle replaced Cabaye with Sissoko, and Ba with Cisse?

10 points clear of the drop by the end of January. Carver would need to get about 6 points to be totally sure of safety.

If you're nervous then you're either a football God with 20/20 foresight, Or are an extremely nervous person. Who quite frankly would be inconsolable after the start Newcastle have made this year. Newcastle were closer to Spurs in fifth than Hull in 18th.

Newcastle were level on points with a Swansea side who had just sold their best player. They must have been dead certs then.
