Even so, its hardly the greatest thing to put out when its clear that large numbers of Newcastle fans are not impressed with the conduct and behaviour of those presiding over the whole enterprise. Although those in the sports media linking it with the boycott are reporting erroneously given that the call for it pre-dates the bank announcement.

I think the net spend for this season overall was something like £10-15million at most (although this is factoring in Santon, which is yet to be paid for, and Pardew, which most people haven't counted), and even with agent fees, I doubt we have lost the majority of the £34million banked and the £18million registered profit. Plus as said its before prize/TV money, even if we're looking at a shortfall this year for not being good enough for a top 10.

It hasn't been 'put out' it's been filed with club accounts in accordance with company law. - They also included a note saying they spent £30m after that date.

And yeah it seems possible to estimate the amount of cash that should be available for new players and manager. They spent the majority of it but another £13m? for MYM/Santon/Pardew - Means there should be a lot available. And no excuse* for not spending quite big this summer.

*Apart from FFP. No one has a fucking club about that though.

Don't know. Carver, Moncur and Charnley have all said the'll spend money. Before last year the club physically had no cash and were in their overdraft - and spent the majority of the cash they had last summer.....badly.

Anyway 90% back the boycott - Going to be weird in a stadium of less than 5'000 on Sunday. Although Spurs made 4 times the amount of profit Newcastle did last year - Shouldn't they be the ones boycotting?

You seem to be assuming people in Britain want to change FPTP.

I genuinely have no clue of LibDem policies - they get less coverage than UKIP and the SNP right now.

Farage doing some real heel work right now - insulting the audience.

It's been worked out where that missing money went. Turns out in the full accounts, just over £38million was taken out of the club and put in its cash flow account - £4.5million of which got taken off as an overdraft fee. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32322555

You can probably guess that didn't go down so well.

So it literally has been spent mostly on strengthening the team? Newcastle as far as I'm aware still deal in cash - And Newcastle spent net roughly £18m last summer. Add in the Yanga + Santon sales and should be about £28m in the bank before the TV money arrives. So should be around £50m net available in the summer.

Not sure why they have done it though.

Don't think it's a coincidence that Newcastle haven't appointed a manager yet. Klopp apparently a massive Newcastle fan. Has a signed Paul Kitson shirt in his office.

EDIT - Looks in the Chronicle

That’s why it was sad to see the reaction of Newcastle fans as news broke from Germany today that Jurgen Klopp is set to leave Borussia Dortmund. It was instantly dismissed as a pipe dream for Toon fans.

Someone was actually paid money - to write an article on how Klopp won't be the next Newcastle manager.

Can't believe Joe 'lives in a yacht in the Bahamas' Lewis has got his shareholding registered offshore. That is shocking.

And yeah he does normally have a point, but he has a moan at everything that isn't fan ownership. Can imagine him having a go at a club for using losses brought forward to cheat the Great British Taxpayer. Aston Villa today switched from Digestive biscuits to Jaffa Cakes in their press room in a disgusting tax avoidance scheme.

Also pisses me off how he always goes after easy targets. He's wrote loads of articles about Wonga, but only once they sponsored Newcastle. Hearts and Blackpool get a pass for some reason and acts like Wonga is destroying the North East. Newcastle has a far bigger problem with gambling and alcohol.

Yeah I have sort of done the same. Bought a PS4 but trying to replay through all the 360 games I missed. Barely play on either tbh.

Helped by that there seems to be no 'essential' PS4 games that I'm interested in released yet. FIFA16 will probably be my next purchase.

David Conn now moaning about clubs being owned overseas as they could be used for tax avoidance reasons. FFS. He was having a moan about clubs making a profit last week. No evidence whatsoever that there is any wrong doing.

Really fucking hate David Conn.

I suppose the obvious writing is that he moves to his Island permanently and retires. Last season set it up so all of the Investors in the Valley would be interested in investing - so not too hard to write in a replacement character. Big shoes to fill mind.

Are they not some of your better players?

They never actually turn up though. Tiote has barely played for a couple of seasons. Sissoko looks uninterested, and Cisse has been good but only available for about 30%, Debuchy and Remy were also like this last year, Newcastle need a lot more from star players - Attitude and Commitment.

Last year at least Pardew showed some balls and dropped Ben Arfa and played Gosling ahead of him.

Probably voting Lib Dem en' all. Because I reckon my MP is a cunt. Made the regional front cover of the Sun though when his son made fun of Jordan's disabled son on twitter though.

Doesn't overly matter though when Labour romp home with 97.6% of the vote though.

  • I think they were interested in Di María and Sanchez, we certainly tried to sign Sanchez a few years ago.
  • They don't really need Ozil, given they already have David Silva who is both a better player and already settled in.
  • Chelsea wouldn't have sold Mata to City.
  • Bit weird they don't seem to have tried for Kroos or Thiago though.

More just they don't seem to compete for players. - Hazard and Isco are the only two they seem to have lost. Yet willing to pay massive for their own targets.

Was the perfect example of a ref not being strong enough to officiate at this level.

I think refs bottle subconsciously - why give Newcastle a penalty when they'll probably will get beat anyway? And Carver will take the blame. Mitigate the risk. Amazing how many stonewall penalties we haven't been given though.

Admittedly a little. But I think 35 will probably be enough. We're still 9 clear. But it seems hard to lose to WBA, West Ham, QPR and Leicester.

I never really thought Darlow looked particularly good and was surprised by the reaction when we signed him.

I'm not in charge of transfers - if it was up to me he would have been given more time. But he was here for 18 months and couldn't force a starting spot and looked unconvincing at best when he did play.

Everything I've saw about Lascellas/Darlow is Forest aren't too upset about losing them.

And yeah appears he hasn't played fullback.

Pardew wasn't defensive though. His inclination is normally to put on another striker rather than a defender.

Would have loved to see more of Ronaldo at his peak, unfortunately injuries in the late 90's/very early 00's while at Inter slowed him down massively. He was still quick afterwards and obviously the technical side of his game remained, but by all accounts he was absolutely electric before those knee injuries.

That's true.

Ronaldo, Batistuta, etc, absolute monsters. Players like Shearer, Christian Vieri too. Paddy Kluivert, Crespo, Salas. What an era, wish I could have seen more of them, the current game needs more proper strikers.

Remember striker partnerships?

Also regarding Ronaldo don't forget that Brazil placed two World Cup campaigns on his shoulders. C Ronaldo and Messi haven't exactly carried their nations to success.

Hasn't Castan been out all season with a brain injury? And Astori was injured, and that's how he got his place. And why he was playing so frequently. And he still plays full back quite a lot.

I've never seen the reports that he was one of the stars, more that he played in the Champions League and therefore was a world class player. Despite Roma flopping in Europe this year. I haven't seen him very much but he again looked really poor against Fiorentina in the Europa League.

And all I've read when I looked into it is that pretty much all of Roma's new signings have flopped, MYM included.

The reason Colo and Enrique got more time is because Newcastle got relegated - And couldn't get better deals elsewhere.

Can't comment on his form at Montpellier because I never saw one second of it. He got a good write up. But Koscielny, Zouma, Varanne, Sakho, all got moves to big clubs, MYM moved to Newcastle which is a bit of a hint he wasn't particularly highly rated.

Hard to compare imo. Brazil Ronaldo played in a different era when pure strikers were the zenith.

He would probably have to play more like Benzema does now. Less goals but a better team player.
