Well I'm trying to lose a bit of weight and like I said not much time for meal prep, so is that going to cause me to put on weight instead..

Nah.

The equation is simple. Calories in - calories out. If your calories out is higher than your calories in then it doesn't matter what you eat you will lose weight. For example: http://www.niashanks.com/teacher-lost-weight-eating-mcdonalds/

If your only goal is weight loss and you're counting calories then you can simply trust the scales. If you're losing weight now it's proof that its working. You may need to jiggle with the numbers a bit later because your BMR will change as you lose weight, but we're talking a few calories here and there and its easily worked out.

You could probably eat more healthily (by which I mean more veg, less processed foods etc...) but it won't cause you to lose weight more quickly and, if you eat too much of it, it will cause you to put weight on just the same as unhealthy food, and if you're trying to his macros then you're already eating more healthily than a huge number of people.

Just find something you can stick too. There's no point beating yourself up for eating 'unhealthy' foods if it stops you from binge eating much worse stuff and blowing our your calorie goals.

Alright gym buddies.. Need some advice re nutrition. Have limited time to meal prep etc, so have a very similar diet each day.
Porridge with soy milk, beans with a sandwich, then one of the Tesco healthy living meals. Example
Are they actually healthy? I know microwavable shit isn't really good for you, but they seem to be fairly lenient on the macros side..
Also fruit and yogurts for snacks. Staying under my calories and macros usually, but mainly wondering if those tesco meals are doing me more harm than good?

Dropped about 3-4kg since Christmas, as my diet before was awful, so just cutting out the sugars has made a massive difference. Currently 81kg, trying to get to 79ish by March, and 75 by summer.

Also only drink these, again are they bad? No added sugars, I know they have the two sweeteners, but quick google seems to be positive.

When you say 'healthy' what do you mean?

People mean so many different things when they use the word I'm not sure what you're actually asking.

If you're using out performances as a yard stick then you really have fallen from grace

Well just think how infuriating it is that you haven't won in ages and we're still fucking 6th.

I knew we were going to drop points after yesterdays results. Should have done something more fun. Seppuku or something.

Absolutely nothing about this team whatsoever; crumble under the slightest pressure.

This match is a perfect summary of our season.

Even more annoying in that everybody above us bar City dropped points and we fail to take advantage once again.

I think the perfect summary of our season is a game where we have a bajillion chances.

This is just crap. Feels like an LVG game.

If that fat fuck has actually seen that and thinks that is a penalty then I'd like to hear the explanation for why he doesn't give 10 penalties a game.

Aye, what did happen to that young Norwegian kid who went to Real Madrid?

He only recently turned 18, has made his debut for Real Madrid already (their youngest ever player), and is on an 18 month loan right now.

He might have played more already for another team, but its definitely not gone badly for him so far.

No matter who plays, or what combination we put out, we're going to struggle as long as we're so fucking profligate.

As with the Liverpool game I think we probably shaded it, and possibly deserved more than a draw on the balance of play (not sure Stoke actually had a shot on target), but if you can't put the ball in the net you deserve everything you get, or don't get in this instance.

Fellaini's started every game we've lost this season.

Fellaini starts today and we're losing.

Weird game. Liverpool created fuck all until about the 90th minute. We played absolutely shit, but had chances we should have taken before the penalty.

Important we didn't get beat, but if we played anything like we could have we should have won today.

Jones goes in hard with one foot and his other tucked behind him and Feghouli jumps in late with his two feet in front of him.

Neither are great tackles and worse than Feghouli's have gone unpunished recently (Hi Rojo) but its a red card. I'm not really sure why its controversial.

Are you finally willing to admit he's good?

If he keeps up the form and can produce in the big games then sure.

I'm more than a bit worried about what went on at the start of the season, and what has been said about it by both him and Mourinho, but he's been a revelation since coming in so fair play.

It's a nice change to have low expectations of a player and be pleasantly surprised than expecting a lot and being let down.

Another game and another ref missing an obvious horrific tackle.

I don't know what s going on but it not an exaggeration to say that player safety is under threat.

Frankly its refreshing to go to West Brom and have them whinge about our physicality.

Probably the first time in ages we've had a team thats hard as fuck and doesn't get bullied by everyone and their dog.

Fans of other teams, have you ever finished a game this season and thought 'the ref was alright today'?

They're normally bad, but christ it feels like they've got worse again this year. You could have replaced Pawson last night with a random number generator and it would have got more decisions right than he did.

^ FWIW - Darmain isn't shite, JM just doesn't utilise his strengths in his best position aka wingback. Just as he fails to utilise Pogba effectively and Rashford. Anyone who's seen Pogba clearly knows his best position is at LCM in a three man midfield. Anywhere else and he's simply not as effective. That's what you get with Mourinho though these days. He doesn't want to shift from his seemingly beloved 4231 system and continues to try to play square pegs in round holes.

Thought he'd struggle at United when he joined, so far that's been the case. He'd shown signs of his from the second half of Chelsea's title winning season where we allowed City back into it. Then last season speaks for itself. Throw in the whole negative environment he creates and it's not hard to see why he's only won 9 of his last 30 EPL games (iirc). He looks a shadow of the once bold and innovative manger that first made his mark at Chelsea.

No he's shite.

Dress it up all you want, but he just is not at the standard required to play in the premier league for Manchester United. He can't defend against anyone that has a modicum of strength or pace and he's even worse going forward, its difficult to remember a worse player going forward for us at full back over the years and the likes of Smalling and Rojo have played there. The idea that he'd somehow improve if given more attacking responsibility is somewhat laughable.

But then again, I'd say its fairly clear from the rest of your post like - as normal - you're criticising a team you've barely seen play, so its probably no surprise you don't have that good an idea of what Darmain's been like for us. The fact you criticise Mourinho for not shifting from 'his seemingly beloved 4-2-3-1' despite us playing a 4-3-3 in almost all our games at the minute pretty much says it all.

Sense geezer. The man simply isn't anywhere near the level he was at his pomp. Anything less than a title challenge with this United side and the money they've spent is a colossal failure, and Mourinho is well on his way to doing it.

Unsurprising though as this is what happens when you give a man a job who got sacked for putting one of the best sides in the League in a relegation scrap

If we'd actually spent that money well it would be a fair point.

Instead he inherited a tiny squad with a bunch of rubbish in key positions which has forced him to rely on players we all know are shite. Its disappointing to see him bring on Fellaini, but what other choices does he have? Schneiderlin is such a complete non-entity that Fellaini's bumbling incompetence actually makes him a better player because he at least has some impact from time to time.

If you judge Mourinho on the money United have spent then, sure, he looks shit, but if you judge him on the quality of the squad he inherited and the money he's spent I think the story is different.

We play better stuff, we create more chances, all the signings he made have addressed key issues and looked good (to varying degrees) and we just look a better side. A massively flawed side, true, but thats always been the case and heres more than enough indications in how we're playing, albeit not in the results, to suggest things are moving the right way.

Should he be moving them in the right way faster? Possibly. But the standards at the club both in terms of playing personal and accepted performances have fallen so low its no surprise it couldn't be fixed in a few months. Either way, has what he's done actually suggest a manager thats finished? Far from it and rather than cycle through another manager I'm more than happy to see him deal with the prevailing issues of club culture and to sort out the problems in the squad first.

The Man Utd team is too weird.

Like Blind, Rojo, Darmian etc, are all weird and seem to never play in there actual positions. No actual wingers, aside from really limited Lingard? A lot of slow players.

Man Utd's squad looks like what you'd expect if you left Rodgers in charge, with a blank chequebook, and no oversight.

Much love for Conte mind, that's how you do it - play to your strengths and actually find solutions.

Well Darmian's shite, so it doesn't really matter where he plays. Rojo is a decent centre-back (although quite probably not a United quality one) and horrific left back and fuck knows where Blind's best position is. He was signed as a midfielder but hasn't played there for close to two years. Blind's a thoroughly decent player and a good guy to have around the squad, but he's a bit of a jack of all trades.

Its a fair assessment, I think Van Gaal's biggest issues is that he had no idea how to build a squad (and I'd be interested to know if he was ever in charge of transfers before, I suspect not). Which left us with a hodge podge of ill fitting parts and players who aren't good enough. For all the money he spent only Martial and Herrera actually look like they're good enough to be starters for title winners.

Oh and Lingard's not a traditional winger by any stretch of the imagination. He spent his career playing centrally before he broke into the side. Like Blind I like him as a squad player but thats it.
