Does Pellegrini get praise for being a tactical genius or anything or is that just reserved for Mourinho?

Pretty much. Even this loss was part of his masterplan. He's just making sure that we have to divide our attention between different competitions whilst Chelsea can just have a clean run-in.

Rafael almost killed himself.

Almost - but not quite - as bad as Javier Manquillo's landing yesterday.

Moyes really should have taken him off though. He looked like he was out cold.

Is it raining or storming or snowing or what?

Absurd winds. They called it off just as I got there.

Correct decision to call it off but they left it way too late.

The alternative is United Road, an equally shit song.

Yeah that is also a crap song. You not got a United-equivalent of The Boys in Blue? Something old-timey but none shit.

That was hilarious. Put a smile on my face for the first time this weekend.

How can they honestly play Glory Glory Man United over the tannoy after that?

How can they play it over the tannoy at any time? It's a terrible song, United must have something better than that.

Not seen the City game, but maybe it was because of the Chelsea game? Got forward too much and didn't have the work rate to get back, leaving Demichelis far to exposed.

No, not for me, it was more about attitude than fatigue. The team as a whole seemed far too complacent.

Sounds like he was a little bit naughty towards the end too, although I haven't seen the incident yet myself, just going off the BBC live text.

Aye, he gave one of their players a little dig in the small of the back whilst they were on the floor. He was lucky to get away with it.

Disappointed with how little Yaya went forward today.

That annoyed me but I was more bothered by how little he positively impacted the game. His passing (amongst others) was awful, not particularly ambitious and when it was it was often wayward.

Today at least.

Today, yeah. Yaya was terrible.

City are playing terribly. Apart from Navas and Jovetic, we've been unbelievably casual.

Why didn't Pellegrini play Jack Rodwell or Javi Garcia in place of Fernandinho, given that it's their natural position, instead of moving Demichelis there? Does he really not rate them at all?

García's injured and Rodwell's shit (and unfit). He didn't play particularly well there yesterday but Demichelis has played in that role a few times so far this season and looked comfortable enough to try there. The real question is why Pellegrini didn't make a change when it became clear he was struggling - especially when Yaya was having such a god-awful game.

Think its unfair to pick on Demichelis, the whole team were terrible, even Yaya was awful. Never seen him lose possession so often and then he showed absolutely no interest in trying to win it back.

Bang on. I'm not sure it was just a mental thing either, he looked absolutely knackered.

I thought everyone loved Dzeko again after he scored a few?

Not really. I think that was just Slash, 'cos even when Dzeko's scoring he tends not to play that well.

Hideously bad performance on pretty much every level. I think Navas and Hart are probably the only ones to come out of it with any credit (and they weren't brilliant).

EDIT: Oh and Jovetic too. He was alright.

He's poor generally. I can't wait till we get rid of him.

Regarding the penalty, I just saw this on Twitter:

Looks like a penalty to me, with the contact on Dzeko's back leg.

Shame that Fernando has spurned the chance to join United for City, I doubt he'll get any first-team football at the Etihad.

He might not get as much as he would at United but given our lack of options in central-midfield, he should do alright for appearances.

It was never a penalty. Rose comes round the side and wins the ball as clear as day, Dzeko does down after the contact is made. It wasn't like he scissored him either.

I'm undecided because I've seen two angles, one in which it looks clean as a whistle and the other in which it looks like he takes him down after he wins the ball. I can see why the assistant flagged for it.

I guess that's Jack Rodwell's career at City over then.

I think his career at City is done anyway. His inability to stay fit and/or perform competently when is fit seems to have seen to that. It's a shame.

The offside goal was contentious but the red card/ penalty decision was awful. Spurs had no chance from then on in.

I'm not sure about the penalty itself but the red card was very harsh.

Yaya did foul him though, with his trailing leg. Soft but still a foul.

Nah.

It was. It's irrelevant, though, 'cos it shouldn't have been a free-kick. Yaya didn't even foul Rose.
