Michael Owen remains a massive cunt. Coming out with all sorts of shit in the City-Spurs game.

So Susie

Aguero or Suarez?

Aguero. There's not much between them as players but he's not a cunt.

City getting away with more decisions \o/

Not really.

We got lucky with Spurs' goal but the free-kick it came from wasn't a free-kick. Demichelis has been booked despite the fact he was the one who got stamped on and Zabaleta had a clear foul ignored.

But, yeah, City are getting away with it.

Don't you start.

For one thing, there's no real indication he wants to leave. He's been involved in a legal dispute over who represents him (Raiola or his old agent) which has caused the delay over a new contract.

On top of that, there's the fact that City (amongst others) really want him, PSG want to keep him and the fact that Arsenal have one of the most well-stocked central midfields in Europe. Looks like a fairly unlikely transfer to happen.

True, but if my memory serves me the owner of PSG basically told Manchester City to do one when they made an approach for him. I think he even threatened to bid for City players if they want after Matuidi.

He was talking out of his arse there, Matuidi has 6 months left on his contract. If City or Arsenal want to talk to him, they can.

So we're selling Fabio to Cardiff and keeping Buttner.

What the fuck.

It's not that ridiculous. Is anybody actually daft enough to pay money for Buttner?

In every possible way.

I don't know what you're complaining about, you have Mohamed Salah now.

That first-half performance was truly appalling. Rodwell and Richards were particularly terrible.

Jovetic, Aguero and Navas were good, though.

I hope he did anyway.

I'm guessing he did the same for David Villa and Fabregas. Seemed really odd at the time Barca bought Villa and paid £33M while he was probably a top 4-5 best striker in the world, and surely I thought he'd go for much more... Fabregas cost £28M and I thought he'd cost at least £35M. Alex Song too I thought they'd pay Arsenal more than what they paid because he was great for them in his last season there.

Do you mind expanding on that? It might just be me but that doesn't really make sense in relation to the Neymar deal.

They have a lot of work to do.

The club they bought is the 'second Melbourne' team, notoriously shit and has very very small fan base.

Given the people we have running the club it probably won't be staying that way.

Apparently changing the name to Melbourne City FC as well.

As an Aussie I am kind of confused to the greater point of this for city.

I'm thinking maybe a way around financial fair play.

Buy players using the Heart and then sell or loan them to City.

No, it's nothing to do with FFP. The board and/or owners seem have the idea of a grand-plan to make 'City' a global brand, with Man City as the centre-piece and a series of lesser affiliated clubs. I suspect the only real benefits to City will be through marketing and an improved presence in Australia for scouting.

It's just marketing isn't it?

I'm sure if City wanted a club to farm players through they'd have picked a European one, I'm pretty sure they have/are going to have a similar deal to this with one of the MLS franchises.

Indeed, we've already bought our own MLS franchise, New York City.

It's not it's a fan account. The guy running it used to do a Basque football account but switched to just covering Athletic.

Could see Rooney off to Athletico or AC Milan

It's Atlético and they can't afford him. His wages are way, way too high.

Probably,

As long as we are smart enough to ship him abroad no one will mourn his passing.

Nah, Rooney's too much of a mercenary. He's a certainty to be off. The Glazers won't give him a contract big enough to keep him (and rightly so he's already on 250k).

I agree on the second bit too, with all the baggage he brings he's not really worth the hassle.

If Mata is going to Utd then Rooney has to be leaving in the summer. Can't see either happening

Rooney's leaving anyway, this summer or the next, regardless of what happens with Mata.

Aguero could/should have quite easily just been sent off.

Aye, to say that he's got away with it would be an understatement. (Assuming you're talking about the attempted stamp).

The City team for tonight: Pantilimon; Clichy, Nastasic, Lescott, Boyata; Lopes, Fernandindo, Garcia, Navas; Negredo, Aguero.

Taking no chances obviously.

Great signing, obviously not getting the limelight because of Negredo. Especially after the worries about homesickness.

It took him a few months to get going but since the game against Spurs he's been consistently excellent.

Not sure why the ref didn't give it either. The defender was nowhere near the ball and tripped him pretty clearly.

Fernandinho must have picked up a knock against Blackburn. Was wondering why he went off at half time (Couldn't hear commentary so not sure if they mentioned it).

To be honest, given the amount of games he's played this season he's probably (also hopefully) just being given an extended rest.
