Too bad he'll probably never live up to his potential at Man City.

Yeah, sure.

Abdi Ibrahim, who's spent the two last seasons on loan at Strømsgodset from Man City, said in an interview recently that he felt sorry for young talents signing for City as 'they would never get a chance of playing'. He's now been linked with a move to a bunch of Premier League, Ligue 1 and Eredivisie sides for the past month or so.

The reason he's never made it at City is because he's not very good. NEC actually sent him back (after putting him in the reserves) because he was so average. Credit to his agent though, he's managed to get him in the paper consistently, linked to teams that he's nowhere near good enough for.

That said, he has a bit of a point. Bobby Manc and Mark Hughes were far too hesitant to give the kids a chance in the first team. I doubt it'll carry on like that under Pellegrini and the Soriano/Begiristain regime.

One of our youngsters - touted as the next Zlatan - scored this golazo today:

Not bad.

It could've been worse so its a fair relief for him. Looked extremely serious when he was taken off - a potential out-of-the-World-Cup one.

Chance for Jovetic, perhaps?

No chance. He's been injured for ages.

Mike Jones had a shocker today. He got pretty much every big decision wrong. I still can't understand how he managed to let Yanga-Mbiwa stay on the pitch.

Nahki Wells has signed for Town for a club record fee. We appear to have pissed off Bradford, Leeds and Peterborough at the same time. Good day!

It's never a bad day when you piss off Leeds.

Followed Giggs since his career started and i cannot remember him ever scoring an own goal?

Why do you think he's put off retirement for so long? He's finally managed to tick it off his bucket list.

Why does everybody think this forum has gone to the dogs? Hope this doesn't come across being rude, just curious because it used to be really popular but now, not so much.

Older members have left and haven't been properly replaced. As an example, in Off-Topic the core group of consistent posters have all been members for years, newer members aren't sticking around. They're downloading the megapacks and fecking off.

Terrible match, that.

Poor team selection, self-inflicted mistakes for the goal and the red-card and probably the laziest performance of the season.

Thought Blackburn were pretty good mind.

Nah decided against it, I'll be watching at home. I suspect we'll have a fair number in the home end too. Blackburn's always a popular away fixture. Might even get a few people on the hill for old times sake

Yeah not like theres thousands of fans in the stadium who have paid to watch the game.

And? Red cards are part of the game. If you start using that as an excuse not to make certain decisions then the whole game's fucked. If it's an offence worthy of a red card then a red card should be given, regardless of 'the spectacle of the game'.

I'm not saying it's right, just that I've heard thats how at least some of them think.

I know, I was aiming it more generally at people who believe that.

The first one is refs don't want to ruin the spectacle of the game by sending off players for something that only really effects them.

I've always hated this is as a reason not to send somebody off. It's total bollocks. The only people it 'ruins the spectacle' for is the team that's down to 10 men.

Now, I'm obviously a bit biased, because everyone is, but...
I feel like Hazard's been getting a reputation lately, and I honestly don't see him as a diver. But perhaps you fine gents have a different view on the matter?

He's no Ashley Young but he does go down easily.

I wasn't disputing the fact Liverpool are interested Salah, just the reliability of that account. He/they frequently make up/copy other people's tweets.

Saying that, he's dived twice all season and been caught both times as well as yesterdays imaginary decision. He's no where near as bad as people would like to think.

Well that's bollocks. He may not be the prolific diver that some suggest but he's dived far more often than that this season.

It's unlikely that anybody on here either has this laptop (or cares enough about it) to comment, especially so when the off-topic section is increasingly quiet.

Team: Manchester City
League Position: 2nd.

Star Man: Sergio Aguero - Quite simply the most complete striker in the league and, Suárez aside, the best player in the league.
Most Improved: Samir Nasri - Pellegrini has helped him rediscover the form for Arsenal that saw us sign him in the first place. He may even have surpassed it.
Best Youngster: Matija Nastasić - Hasn't really lived up to his first season but he's the only young player really making an impact at first-team level. Hopefully Marcos Lopes and some of the other talented youngsters can start to break through soon.
Most Disappointing: Edin Džeko - He's clearly a very good player but his attitude stinks, he's frustratingly inconsistent and his refusal to use his considerable size to win the ball has only been highlighed by Alvaro Negredo.

Best Game: The 4-1 derby win. Not our highest-scoring result but it was a commanding win (that could and should have been more) and in my opinion, it was the first result to really show what this team is capable of.
Best Goal: Hard to choose. There's been so many of them. Off the top of my head, Yaya's curled golazo against Plzen was pretty special.
Worst Game: The annual 1-0 loss at Sunderland was definitely the low point so far.

How's the manager doing? Starting fairly slowly but he seems to have got it figured out. We've seen a steady improvement since the Sunderland game and the tactics seem to have clicked. We do still need to improve our defence, though. We still look too shaky.
What player do you want in January? A left-back and a central midfielder. Ideally that'd be Luke Shaw and Blaise Matuidi but that's probably slightly unrealistic.
Where will you finish? 1st.

Overall Grade: B+

Not really no, the options are pretty poor, if he'd come back to England I'd love to see Roland Nilsson take over, but that might be more to do with him being a bit of legend then on managerial experiance, altho his record in Scandinavia is quite good.

Mandaric is hoping Stuart Gray keeps picking up points so he can appoint him on the cheap, if he doesn't I think it'll be Stuart Pearce taking over.

You poor bastard.

At least it reduces the chances of Man City 0-1 Sunderland in the final.

We only lose to them at the Stadium of Light, I reckon we'd be fine against them at Wembley.
