To be fair I think you should walk this division as well as the next.

You're confident!

We should walk the second division but I've no doubt the first will be difficult.

Should've had December 2013 posted up but I ballsed up and need to write it all out again. Probably do that later on.

Six clean sheets on the bounce, very good not bad work there buddy, congratz on retaining the cup to, this is the nicest comment I will ever leave

You can leave nicer comments than that, surely? Still though, it was nice to get quite a few clean sheets once the bounce and long may it continue. I would love to get the ten clean sheets on the bounce achievement, but it's hard.

Three second division games. Two Scottish Cup ties and a Challenge Cup final as we looked to retain our trophy against Stenhousemuir. It would have been a sensational November as we didn't concede a single goal but it wasn't as we slipped up to a scoreless draw away to Cowdenbeath and to be honest, the performances haven't been that great.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zObxjs20wauO3cUQYHP0BDKtn1pLcjqKt6WOjWsy.jpg

Lothian Thistle away in the Scottish Cup started November as a crowd of 718 spectators saw the second division side run out comfortable three goal winners as Sandaza got the ball rolling in the 12th minute and then Shiels levelled from the spot late in the first half before the Spaniard Sandaza added his second early in the second half.

Our next game was away to Cowdenbeath and we stuttered to a 0-0 draw. Cowdenbeath were poor. We were brutal. Fair result.

We did manage to retain the Challenge Cup as we swept a side Stenhousemuir in the second half. Winger Ephraim opened the scoring in the fifty third minute and that was doubled thanks to Sandaza's 64th minute strike - Ephraim, on-loan from QPR until the end of this season netted his second in stoppage time to keep the trophy at Ibrox.

Arbroath came to Ibrox with a new manager and Rangers gave him a horrible debut as the Ibrox side ran out 5-0 winners, two early Sandaza goals set the tone and that's how it remained until Templeton scored in the sixty fourth minute before two own goals in two minutes from Bullock and Travis sealed the rout.

Next was a trip to Peterhead as Rangers continued their 100% record against "The Blue Toon" as Templeton and Sandaza were both on target in each half at Balmoor.

And the month concluded with a Scottish Cup fourth round tie with East Fife as we eased to victory. The opening goal came in the eleventh minute whenever Templeton smashed the ball in off the post and then Sandaza doubled before the half hour. An own goal near the hour mark sealed the passage.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zAGewpn0SxPn7XlXDL3sXM1X1yoIMXdgf6YYHwPZ.jpg

We're 8 points clear at the top with a game in hand against East Fife, win that and we move 11 points clear of Ayr who are in second and a point in front of Stenhousemuir. Cowdenbeath who are fourth are nine points behind Stenhousemuir.

Stranraer, who could only pick up a single point remain bottom, five points adrift of Arbroath who have lost two out of two since Peacock became manager. There is then a seven point gap between the Gayfield Park side and Peterhead who are third bottom. Brechin, Dumbarton and East Fife make up the rest of the league.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/HGAfBX3zVlImGDgEfFUfmMcvYAOg6RpivuemZ4O0.jpg

And proof of our Challenge Cup success over Stenhousemuir at Hampden Park.

I received a gem of a regen so replaced sutherland with him at age 15 and also shipped out templeton before he even kicked a ball for me. Argyiou went when embargo was over and I brought in a released right back from real madrid I bought shaw for i think 200k and just rejected a 6mil bid for him. Little and McKay bang the goals in for me with close to goal a game for little straight to SPL.

Bah! You're lucky. I'm yet to recieve any good regens yet.

Gaining some momentum here mate. Cracking wins Against Livi and especially Dundee United!

Running away wit the league as well now a bit .

Yet again cheers mate. With Celtic out of the League Cup we’ve a real chance of winning it but I need to make sure I get past Hearts – who remember beat us in the semi final of the Scottish Cup at the end of last season.

The league has been pretty easy thus far. Can it get harder? Possibly.

In my second division campaign, kept Bocanegra, sold Goian and watched in awe as Kane Hemmings and Kal Naismith ran roughshod over all before us, seriously, Hemmings was 38 (7) games and 31 goal return. Who needs transfers when that goldmine was sitting in reserves? Naismith chipped in with 13 and David Templeton and Neil Alexander got Scotland call ups (but no caps). Another revelation was Luca Gasparotto, defensive rock and scored 7 goals from corner set pieces.

Once the embargo opened up I set Andrew Dixon as the one who hires/fires a director of football and he got John Collins, he then was set to find players to sign and in January signed Ryan Jack to replace Argyriou who wanted an obscene pay raise so he was let go when contract was up. Argyriou had a great season though, but not worth 8 grand/week. Central defense rotated between Ross Perry, Sébastien Faure and Luca Gasparotta after Emílson Cribari suffered knee ligament injury and missed most of the year, he was released on a free at end of season too. Bocanegra was ever present at left back.

Midfield was Templeton on the left, McCulloch or Kyle Hutton and Ian Black or Chris Herd in the middle and Hogan Ephraim on the right

Naismith and Hemmings upfront.

Won the treble, league by end of February, almost went 100%, silly draws towards the end scuppered that.

Now in the first division and Collins is snapping up young (and cheap) talent like no ones business, Danny Gierke, Milos Veljkovic, Barry Douglas, James Tevernier, Ryan Dow and Ashlet Smith-Brown. Bocanegra is now a player coach after retiring from international football after 2014 World Cup.

Exciting times ahead as finances seem to be on a even keel.

Interesting. I decided to sell them both as they’re “old” and I was over my wage budget so selling them both has helped me drastically, I didn’t need them last season since they were out on loan and I sure don’t need them now. As for Hemmings and Naismith, I’m sure I released one of them whenever their contracts expired, I think.

Definitely thinking of shipping out Argyriou once I can find a suitable offer because you’re right, he’s not worth the cash he’s on and I doubt he’d accept a lower offer to remain at the club. I use Faure/Cribari as my central defenders with Gasparotta as back up and he’s not been too shabby. Templeton has been amazing for me, scoring a bag full from the left wing position. Castelen/Ephraim have also chipped in from the other side while Shiels and Black love scoring world-class long-range efforts.

In the middle of midfield I use Black and Herd although that will need to change as Herd will be leaving the club in the summer when his loan spell comes to an end – I’m not confident he will return but will try. I would love to win the treble this season and it’s possible.

Could have November posted today, will play that month later today.

Six matches happened in October as we looked to retain our Challenge Cup trophy, which was won last season vs. East Fife as we entertained Livi in the semi final this season. We also shocked Dundee United in the quarter final of the League Cup. In between both cup games we played four league games as Rangers remained undefeated.

http://i50.tinypic.com/2ppwzfl.jpg

Dumbarton travelled to Ibrox to start October and a 38,385 strong crowd saw the hosts run out 4-0 victors as both Ephraim and Sandaza hit doubles in both halves.

We then hosted the bottom club Stranraer and a similar sized crowd saw a three goals to nil win as central defender Cribari opened the scoring on eighteen minutes before a second half double from Shiels and Sandaza sealed the points.

A much changed side (against my will) took on Livingston in the Challenge Cup semi final and Rangers came out on top of a five goal thriller as Hutton opened the scoring on fourteen minutes before the First Division side levelled, defender Perry regained the lead late in extra time but again Livingston made it 2-2 before a penalty, from Sandaza in second half stoppage time at the end of extra time put Rangers into the final.

Next up was a trip to Somerset Park to face Ayr as we were forced to comeback from 2-0 down to pick up three points. The hosts went two goals up after half an hour and that's how it remained until on-loan Ephraim pulled a goal back on fifty five minutes and nine minutes later the same man made it 2-2 - Shiels' penalty, in stoppage time won it.

An early goal from Ephraim sent us on the road to victory at home to Brechin - Sandaza doubled the lead on 50 minutes, Shiels added a third before Templeton sealed the points with a lovely finish.

Dundee United in the League Cup quarter final completed October and we progressed to the semi finals with a 3-0 win - Ephraim scored twice in the space of seven minutes in the first half and then Shiels added a third in the second half. It was a deserved victory as we'll face (I think) Hearts in the semis.

http://i49.tinypic.com/25srbf4.jpg

Rangers regained top spot following victory over Dumbarton and the "Teddy Bears" didn't look back as we've opened an eight point gap at the top ahead of Stenhousemuir who are in second place and level on points with Ayr.

Despite picking up their first win last month Stranraer remain bottom of the second division six points behind Arbroath. Peterhead have slipped to third bottom. East Fife are in the last play-off spot with Brechin, Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath making up the rest of the league.

Cheers bud, appreciate all the comments I receive. If I remember correctly Motherwell nearly won the SPL last season, only lost it on goal difference to Celtic due to both teams losing on the final day. They were no mugs and I’m pleased we beat them.

September saw us play just three more league matches and two cup games as we shocked Motherwell at Fir Park, securing a penalties victory.

http://i47.tinypic.com/pmvq8.jpg

And the month started with a deserved victory over Peterhead who joined us from the third division last season - second half goals from Argyriou, Black and a penalty from Shiels sealed the points.

For the second game running we had to rely on second half goals as we progressed in the Challenge Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory at home to Stirling as Castelen and Sandaza netted.

We made quick work of Cowdenbeath in our third consecutive game at Ibrox as Ephraim opened the scoring after just fifteen seconds before Sandaza doubled the lead on twenty two minutes.

Our final league game of the month saw us stutter to victory at Stenhousemuir as we came out on top of a five goal thriller. We fell behind before Shiels levelled the scores and then Faure had put us in front early in the second half before the hosts made it 2-2 but another header, this time from Black sealed the points.

The final game saw us travel to Fir Park to face Motherwell in the League Cup third round and we looked on course for an upset whenever Faure headed us into the lead on seventy four minutes but Law put the scores level late on. We eventually secured a penalty victory.

http://i49.tinypic.com/2cxxqv4.jpg

Ayr United lead the second division a point clear of Rangers who have a game in hand as they have a six point gap in front of Stenhousemuir who are third and nine point gap ahead of fourth place Dumbarton.

Despite picking up their first league win of the season, Stranraer remain bottom, three points adrift of second and third bottom Arbroath and East Fife respectively. Peterhead have made a promising start to the season as the newly-promoted side are fifth, Brechin sixth and Cowdenbeath are seventh.

I use a 5-3-1-1 with three central midfielders, one attacking midfielder and a lone striker.

Yeah I get your logic mate, I think I'm gonna' try and ship them out too.

And that's been working for you so I wouldn't change it - even though Temps has scored 24 times in 38 games for me, insane record for a winger.

You should be able to get cash for them no sweat.

I haven't been able to fit him into my formation to be honest. Might lead to me selling him at the end of the season to help wage budgets and club balance.

Funny that you have sold Bocanegra and Goian, cause I was thinking that I might do the same when they get back. They are hardly young and they will be on a hefty wage plus you got some decent cash form them so I may just have to bin them. Hmmm.

Keep it up though mate, your going well.

Shame. He’s been outstanding for me on the left wing, scoring goals for fun. What formation do you use fella?

That’s another reason why I’ve decided to let them go due to one being 32 and the other something like 34 and on massive wages that a second division side, no matter how big they are, simply can’t afford – I hope I don’t need to sell any other big names.

Thanks bud. Not surprised I’m doing well, we’ve been playing some brilliant football albeit against poor opposition.

With the transfer window now officially slammed shut I was still unable to make any signings as we are still under a transfer embargo for a few more days. Following promotion to the second division I ended up over the wage budget and needed to address that immediately.

http://i46.tinypic.com/148psol.jpg

So with two big earners coming back from loan spells I decided to ship them out to help the wage budget.

Experienced Romanian Goian was sold to Italian side Siena, once they placed in a half a million bid it was excepted without me knowning as it was met his minimum fee release clause but I would've accepted anyway as he needed to go. He eventually signed for Siena.

Another experienced player, Bocanegra departed to France as the thirty-four-year-old American international signed for Lens for just over £200k.

I would have liked to keep both players as they're talented but c'est la vie, due to the wage budget.

What have your finances been like? First month we lost loads and I'm worried that that will be a continuing theme

Templeton has been sensational mate since I started the save and long may it continue.

OK I suppose. Ended up over the wage budget following promotion (contracts changing, I would presume) and I had to make not one but two big decisions that thankfully haven’t changed the third division winning teams confident. The finances could be better.

Seven games were played as Rangers kicked off the 2013/2014 season with a trip to Somerset Park in the Challenge Cup and ended the month also on the road, this time to Gayfield to face Arbroath. In the seven competitive games Rangers scored twenty one times and conceded just the twice. A remarkable month.

http://i50.tinypic.com/35jwmyw.jpg

And indeed it was the trip to Ayr that started the competitive season as we scored four times in the second half to progress - Sandaza, Templeton, MacLeod and Black were on target.

Next up was the first round of the League Cup as we hosted Dumbarton and I changed the tactics but realised they weren't working as we fell behind at Ibrox to stun the crowd but once the tactics were changed back Templeton netted twice in eight minutes to turn the game around and Shiels' stunner, in second half stoppage time, sealed the passage.

The league season started on the road as Rangers travelled to Glebe Park to entertain Brechin and we eased to victory after Templeton had opened the scoring on ten minutes. Two goals in the space of four first half minutes from Black and Cribari sealed three points.

And the same result followed in the first home league game of the season against East Fife - Templeton, Sandaza and a first Rangers goal for Hutton sealed maximum points.

Elgin were up next in the Challenge Cup second round and Herd's stunner had opened the scoring before Sandaza scored a real poachers effort late on.

As we made the trip to Dundee I was confident ahead of the League Cup second round encounter at Dens Park but we conceded and had a man sent off but despite the odds being against us, goals in the final twenty minutes from Sandaza and Shiels sealed a shock progression.

The month came to a conclusion with a trip to Gayfield to face Arbroath and we secured another handsome victory. Winger Templeton scored his sixth goal this month in the 12th minute before Cribari's header doubled the lead on the half hour and that's how it remained until the sixty second minute when Sandaza added a third and then Castelen scored a brilliant solo effort to seal the points.

http://i47.tinypic.com/359zbs7.jpg

Here is the league table after the opening month of the new season. As you can clearly see we lead the way on goal difference after our perfect month of not conceding a single goal - Ayr and Stenhousemuir have also enjoyed good, positive starts to the season.

Stranraer are rock bottom and are already three points adrift of Arbroath who have a single win out of three games so far. Dumbarton are fourth, Peterhead fifth, Cowdenbeath sixth, Brechin seventh and East Fife eighth after the first month of fixtures.

Our preparations saw us play six games. Four away from home and two at home and unlike last season we picked up three victories, not convincing but victories nonetheless. Our assistant manager set up games against Dunfermline, Hearts, Saint-Etienne, St. Mirren, Livingston and Highland League side Keith.

http://i47.tinypic.com/mhqb9g.jpg

Our assistant manager took charge of the games, as per usual.

And things did start well as first half goals from Hemmings and Templeton gave us victory over the Pars but then we suffered back to back defeats against Hearts and the Frenchies Saint-Etienne and then we picked up an undeserved single goal victory over St. Mirren as Gallagher scored with our only shot on target.

Livingston humilated us at Almondvale, I changed around with tactics and we paid the ultimate price, Stella, who has been transfer listed due to being muck scored late on and our friendlies ended with a trip to Keith and despite dominating we had to rely on an own goal from Phillips nine minutes from time. Not good enough.

This afternoon the first round draws for both the Challenge Cup and League Cup. I'd love us to retain the Challenge Cup, which is possible along with winning another cup competition.

http://i47.tinypic.com/2v8n0xk.jpg

First the draw for the Challenge Cup first round tie has pit us away to fellow second division side Ayr, we were drawn out second so we need to make the trip to Somerset Park. Tough game, can we win? I hope so.

http://i48.tinypic.com/9rhl4l.jpg

Second was the draw for the Scottish League Cup first round and we were drawn out against Dumbarton who were relegated at the end of last season from the first division. We're at home so I expect a passage at least.

Rangers had a successful season in the Scottish Football League Third Division as they secured the league title with ease as well as securing the Challenge Cup with victory over East Fife. Unfortunately for the fans the club lost to bitter rivals Celtic in the third round of the League Cup and lost to Hearts in the Scottish Cup semi finals.

Below is how the players of Rangers got on in the third division.

http://i47.tinypic.com/erlvrl.jpg
http://i47.tinypic.com/jjnuja.jpg

The quartet of Black, Shiels, Templeton and Sandaza relished in the lowest playable league as they scored a combined total of 95 goals for Rangers over the course of the season while loanee Ephraim shipped in with ten while Herd bagged six and right winger Castelen found the net nine times and twenty two assists.

Other players also nipped in with important goals throughout the season.

http://i48.tinypic.com/9axn4w.jpg

Ten of our players made the Team of the Year. Am I suprised? No. We were sensational throughout the season.
