Seems to be some cups missing on that list, ie. Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup. Rename Johnstone's Trophy to EFL Trophy. And would we allow either a Welsh or Northern Irish team winning the Scottish Challenge Cup count as knocking that off the list entirely? Or will that need to be won 3 different times to fully count?

Pretty sure the Scottish Cups that were missing are actually on the list ...

I've renamed the JPT to the EFL Trophy. Thanks for spotting that.

For me does not matter who wins the Scottish Challenge Cup, once it has been won it has been won, so once only.

From what I know, there is unlikely to be a skin as he cannot commit to making a skin due to work commitments, which is a great shame.

Personally the asking for a donation is something of a murky waters thing, as it could well set a precedent for people to charge for add ons, which I am personally not a fan of overall. Having it seen been done before and not being successful it is not a surprise that the kick starter did not get off the ground. Would hazard a guess it was probably due to the amount of money that was potentially being asked.

As always there is good and bad points from this, but ultimately it is disappointing if we don't see the hard work of @emildebski85 for FM17!

A popular challenge for several years now here on Susie. The retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 from football after 27 years at the helm at Old Trafford. Many supporters had never known another United manager and most agree that there will never be another quite like Fergie. The real life successors David Moyes and later Loius Van Gaal have struggled in the unenviable task of succeeding the most successful manager in British football history. are you the one to pick up the torch? succeeding the most successful manager in British football history.

That's where you come in....

Your challenge is to equal Sir Alex's trophy haul, there are several ways you can do this;

The Easy Way: - Start with Manchester United and rediscover the Red Devils's dominance of English football for another quarter of a century.

The Moderate Way: - Begin with a mid table English club who haven't won a league title in over 25 years and turn them into world beaters, developing several generations of new superstars along the way.

The Fergie Way: - Beginning in the Scottish Championship, take charge of any side for a season (SAF started at East Stirlingshire) You do not need to win a trophy here, eventually move on to a bigger Championship club (SAF: St. Mirren) and guide them to promotion. Eventually take over at an SPL side that is not a part of the Old Firm (SAF: Aberdeen), emulating the great man here will be the toughest part of the challenge, particularly in Europe (You'll be going for the Europa League instead of the now defunct Cup winners cup) Finally, after checking of Scotland you can move South of the border, taking on a fallen giant side from the Premiership (SAF: Manchester United) and guiding them to the staggering haul of silverware that Mr. Ferguson has amassed in his 27 years.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YmVAdWvCdZLkhmvJhbKkKkbx2a6JCLhOX4iIpIrN.png

-Start with professional footballer set as your experience level.
-You may manage the Scottish national side during the course of your career as Sir Alex did briefly.
-Remember, Fergie's rule #1, No player is bigger than the club! if some prima donna starts acting up, give him the boot.
-If you manage to win the treble, you earn the right to nickname yourself 'Sir'

A tribute to a Welshman with a vision. Gary Speed a true cult hero for many, a legend for some, one to be remembered for all. As a salute to Gary Speed's dedication to the Welsh national team and their current success, I've have decided to relight the challenge for people to try to emulate and surpass Speed's and Coleman's vision. Bring Glory to Wales, start with the foundations, a solid youth team. So, I thought that I'd make a spin off from the San Marino Challenge. Can you win the European Championships or even the World Cup with Wales? This one requires some dedication, since Swansea are already in the Prem, Cardiff are in the Championship, and Newport in League 2. The likes of Wrexham, Colwyn Bay and Merthyr are non-league. However, The main aspect to this Challenge is to nurture young Welsh talent and turn the national side into a contender. Now, Let's all think for a moment about the Barca team, That is a perfect example of home grown talent. Emulate that and bring pride to Wales!

If you want a longer term challenge than managing a Welsh Premier League side is the way to go. Managing the likes of Aberystwyth Town, Bangor City or TNS. The challenge is harder but possible.

Rules and Goals
  • The youth academy must be able to produce youngsters for the national team.
  • Your team consist of players from the same nationality.
  • Manage the national team (can apply later on in the game).
  • Win the World Cup with Wales
  • Win the Euro's with Wales
  • Win the Champions League with a Welsh side
Extra:
  • Control every team of the national team that competes in international tournaments (Main Squad, U23, U21, U19 most often).
  • The team is playing in a league of another nationality.
All the best with this challenge.

The Challenge

It's simple really, you load up Football Manager (any version), create a manager (preferably a Holiday Manager) and holiday to the 25th December of that year. Once you are on the 25th of December, retire your holiday manager and create your manager profile and take over the team bottom of the league, your aim is simple: Save them from relegation. At the end of the season you resign/retire and go on to the next season doing the same with the aim of becoming a 'master' at saving the bottom team.

Possible Countries

Any country really and any division, lower the league the tougher the challenge.

The Rules - Playing

1) Load as many leagues as you like.
2) Database size is optional from Small, Medium and Large. No custom. Large is recommended.
3) You are not allowed an Edited database of any kind. Default database only.
4) Advanced Options (Optional Ticks):
Use Real Players
Use Real Fixtures When Available
Add Key Staff
Add Players To Playable Teams
Allow First Window Transfer Budgets
Enable Attribute Masking

Step By Step Guide

1) Create a Holiday Manager you will not be using this manager to manage a club.
2) Holiday to the 25th of December that year.
3) Retire your Holiday Manager.
4) Add a new manager, Sunday League reputation is a must and no coaching experience. However if you don't fancy it then make it a challenge and go one or two above the bottom level.
5) Take over the team at the bottom of the league.
6) Manage them to the end of the season.
7) Celebrate or commiserate your success or failure.
8) Retire your manager and do it all over again (same save)

Other Rules

1) You are not allowed to move club at any point (apart from when taking over on the 25th December)
2) If you are sacked before the end of the season then move onto to the next season.
3) Transfers, Staff, Training etc all optional.

Posting Rules

1) Discussion of any sort is welcome

Posting Updates

Please follow these guidelines for what posts you should do.

First Post

Overview Screen of the Club.
Current League Table.

Anything else is optional, the more screenshots the better as we get involved more with your game and it creates more information. So will you be the Santa Claus and deliver safety?

The Pentagon

The pentagon challenge has been around a long time now, but only those with the patience of a saint and the managerial skill of a god have managed to complete it.

All you have to do is collect all five champions league trophy’s in one save after beginning unemployed with a Sunday league reputation, this may sound straight forward and in theory it is, but in practice it could take 20+ years to check off all five.
It's up to you where you start off, I recommend downloading plenty of additional leagues and loading as many as your computer can handle to give yourself as many options as possible as you go along.

For masochists out there, you can make the pentagon even more difficult by extending it to a Hexagon, you will need to find editor data for it somewhere but it's possible to also compete in the OFC Champions League if you download New Zealand or any other Oceania nation.
You might also consider an international Hexagon by collecting all six continental championships, or even a double Hexagon with both club and international titles on your radar!

The Metropolitan Man:

An alternative to the Pentagon challenge

An interesting tread has appeared in European football for decades involving the geographical size of successful football clubs, as unearthed by sports economists Simon Kuper and Stefan Szymanski. Whilst provincial clubs in the likes of Glasgow, Nottingham and Rotterdam have all claimed Europe’s greatest football prize, the UEFA Champion’s League has never once been in the hands of any real metropolitan club. In fact, no club from within the seven largest metropolitan areas in Europe have won the Champion’s League- it is time for a managerial journeyman to step forward, put his pride on the line and assume the role of the Metropolitan Man.

http://s2.hubimg.com/u/2591865_f520.jpg

This picture is from Berlin, one of the cities needed to complete this challenge

The rules are simple, and the difficulty of the challenge is up to you. Whether you start as a small club from a big city and work your way up or whether you start at a big club and try to flick between cities, it’s all about the way you play your FM game. But the difficult part is simple as to complete the challenge you have to win the UEFA Champion’s League…seven times.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/TyNHV0R1ossA2ATGHqySsI0fJ3roK0zcDes6roOA.jpg

Start at any club that is based in Istanbul, Paris, Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin, Athens or the new metropolitan area on the list, Naples, and win the Champion’s League. Rinse and repeat until you have seven Champion’s Leagues on your managerial CV. There are little restrictions to the challenge; although just like with the Pentagon challenge, there are aspects that one can add to make this challenge more/less difficult.

City Slicker- start as a club in one of these seven geographical locations, and try to win all seven Champion’s Leagues without managing a club outside of those geographical constraints. This becomes harder and harder if you start to amass blots on your CV, because you’ll find that when you limit the job market to specific geographical zones, it becomes nearly impossible to be recruited.

No Dynasties- it can be tempting after you’ve won your first Champion’s League to start building a dynasty within your city, especially if you’re in one of the lesser divisions and have had to work especially hard to conquer Europe. The ‘No Dynasty’ rule means that once you won the Champion’s League with a club, you have to enjoy those news messages about how awesome you are, pack up your things and immediately resign.

List of clubs you can manage:

Paris- Paris FC, Paris Saint-Germain, Red Star, Racing Club

Istanbul- Kasimpasa SK, Kartal SK, Gungoren BS, Istanbul BB, Galatasaray AS, Fenerbahce SK, Besiktas JK

Athens- Ilioupoli, Kallithea, Ethnikos Asteras, Panionios, Atromitos, AEK Athens, Panathinaikos, Olympiakos

Berlin- FC Union Berlin, Hertha Berlin

Moscow- FC Spartak Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, CSKA Moscow, Torpedo Moscow

St Petersburg- FC Zenit St Petersburg, Petrotest, Dynamo St Petersburg

Rome- Roma, Lazio

The Challenge

The basic idea is that you manage both the San Marino club side, (who start the game in Siere D Girone D), and the San Marino National Team, using the players produced by an improved club academy to benefit the NT in a long-term save. If you are just interested in a challenge that will take you a few seasons then this ISN'T for you. It is likely to be measured in terms of decades rather than seasons because it is likely that you will be the only club producing players of a sufficient quality to impact on the NT as soon as your NT gains any real level of success.

The Club

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/San_Marino_Calcio_logo.png

San Marino Calcio, (nicknamed Titani in English translates to The Titans). The club was founded as Società Sportiva Serenissima in 1960 by the San Marino Football Federation, in order to have a team representing the Republic of San Marino in the Italian league.. They have never played higher than Lega Pro Girone B, (where they are now), and have stayed in the same division as last year due to re-shuffle. They play within the Italian structure, (the only San Marino club to do so), and they are also the only professional football club in San Marino.

The Challenge Rules:
  • No Limits on how many leagues you can load.
  • No FMRTE or Genie Scout whatsoever.
  • Once you’ve been sacked by the Club, the Challenge is over and you have to start again.
  • Don’t have to start immediately with NT you can wait for as long as you would like.
  • You can add Edited in Leagues such as the Sammarinese League.
  • FMC can be used in this but you have to mention that you are using it
.

Thread Rules

Player Naming is allowed along with talk about Tactics but no talk on downloadable tactics. If you want to download someoen else's tactics, (sigh), fine, just don't talk about it in here please.

When joining the Challenge please post a photo of your Manager’s Profile.

Once you've done a season please can you post a short summary of your progress showing the key things with Screenshots(e.g. Squad Stats, League Table, Youth Intake etc.)

Setting Up

You can run as many leagues in as many nations as you want, but in order for San Marino to be active you need to load at least down to Lega Pro / Seconda Divisione (Add On Required).

After you have selected the Nations that you want to start the game with, press "Next - New Game Overview". From there click on the "Database Size" tab, and then select "Advanced" at the bottom of the sub-menu. It will then allow you to include some options that may assist you within your game.

*Note - You might have to wait until the league add on for the San Marino league and Serie D becomes available for FM17.

Quote: Dafuge - SI Games Forum

The Aim

To take a small club who were previously unplayable in an unedited game from the Vanarama National League North/South to Premier League and Champions League glory.

The Rules

This year allows a bit more freedom in the game setup, you have the option of loading whatever leagues you like at the start and throughout the game. As for the 'advanced option', all of the boxes should be left unticked apart from 'do not add key staff' and 'prevent use of in-game editor'. It should look like this.

Just like previous years, the players for the newly playable clubs need to be added which can be done using the 'advanced' option on the database size. The players from the three feeder league have to be added, which looks like this. You can also add anything else you like to increase the size of the database, for example like this.

The extra levels of detail that you can change while in the game are up to you, as they shouldn't make a difference.

Add yourself as an unemployed manager, the details are not important at all. I like to call mine 'Holiday Man'.

Go on holiday until 25th June. This is the day that the new clubs appear, so saving on 24th June gives you a chance to reload in the hope of getting a particular club.

Retire your 'Holiday Man' manager and allow him to ride off into the sunset.

Add a new manager, the personal details are completely up to you but I would expect people to use their own true nationalities and languages spoken. Coaching badges must be set to 'None', with past playing experience set as 'Sunday League Footballer'. The coaching attributes are completely up to you.

When adding a new manager, choose one of the new clubs promoted to the Vanarama North or South to manage. A quick way to check the new teams is to find the 'England Overview' team, then the 'season summary'. Just above the FA Cup summary you should find a list of six new teams.

They should appear in this list which shows the reputation of the possible clubs. The reputation should act as a difficulty level. The lower the reputation, the harder your game should be.

It is now up to you to manage this club all the way to the Premier League title and UEFA Champions League crown. The challenge is complete once you have won both competitions, this does not need to happen in the same season.

You may not move clubs unless you are sacked.

If you get sacked, you can either take over a newly promoted club that satisfies the original criteria (check the club's league history), or just start again.

Any form of international management is not allowed, until you have completed the challenge.

Assigning parent clubs and loaning players is completely up to the player, although it should be noted that on occasions a parent club can lend players which will make the first season or two slightly less of a challenge. It is completely up to you how you play this one. Personally, I like to assign a parent club for financial benefits but never take any players on loan from them.

To sign a player, you must be able to scout them, this doesn't mean you have to, just he must be accessible to your scouts. If you have a foreign player on a free transfer who is willing to come on trial, you do not need to be able to scout them, as long as you have them at the club on trial so you can get a coach report on him. If an agent offers you a player, you can sign him without scouting him.

No external utilities such as scouting programs should be used and the database should be unedited (with the exception of cosmetic changes which cannot be discussed here). Should SI release a data update, this would be allowed but any other data updates are not.

Use of save game editors is strictly banned, whatever the reason. Ticking that box at the start should see to this.

Rules for this Thread

Player naming is allowed.

General discussion on tactics is allowed, although people should not refer to downloaded tactics. They are not banned, but I would expect the majority of people to avoid them.

When you join the challenge, post a screenshot of your manager's profile on the 24th June like this.

Progress of your club should be documented using this thread, we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing really badly.

At the end of every season, could everyone post some kind of season review, including at least a screenshot of a league table and the clubs transfer page. If you give this a title in bold it makes it a bit easier to pick out.

How to Post a Screenshot
  • While in FM, press Alt and F9
  • A picture will be saved to a screenshots folder, in the FM16 folder in your documents
  • Upload the image to an image hosting website such as Imgur
  • Post the direct Url to the image here.
How to Add Links

At the top of the forum, go to 'Settings' then 'General Settings' (on the left). At the bottom, select 'enhanced interface' and save the changes. This will give you access to the extra posting tools that make it easier to post links. Once you've done this, highlight the word you wish to turn into a link, then use the link button (looks like a little globe) to paste in the direct Url to your screenshot.

Enjoy

The British Steel Challenge 2017...
Anyone fancying conquering Britain?

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/DlWgeSKhcm11PvyfTCFqAKnXC3YMxGFUz07eiM9O.png

For a fifth year running the British Steel challenge returns to Susie only this year there is a slight change with it! The challenge is no longer unbeaten following Gendo's success a few years ago ticking off all thirty six trophies on a long, windy path! But can you be the one to challenge him and put your name down on the all times great list to have ever conquered Britain?

So what is the challenge: You have to win every trophy from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland in any order you want. However you must only use British and Irish players!

The challenge is made a little easier by counting promotion from finishing second in the league, or via the playoffs as the title but this is your choice. Any success in Europe or with the national teams are just an added note on your history but won't count towards this challenge.

Below is a the challenge leaderboard, once we get people on to the challenge we will add your name and a link to your story should you start one so people can follow it easily. Once you've won a trophy be it league or cup, I will need to see a screenshot for it to count.

Rules:
  • Only use British and Irish players
  • Must start with Sunday League Reputation
  • You may start at a club or start unemployed, your choice
  • You MUST send me a screenshot of each trophy won for it to count
Below is the list of playable trophy's within the game when you load all the home nations.(Downloaded competitions and expansions are not allowed)

Yes, of course, we all have. I just can't understand why the admins don't trust mine (and others as well) selection of wages. It has happened before, as well. Best regards.

Sometimes the sources are not trustworthy, simple as that.

You also have to take into account the wage structure of the club, if unsure should never guess. Check online DB and work out were that player would fit in at the club. If unsure average out the top 5 wage earners of the club. Easiest thing to do.

The latest update still has Mbokani playing for Dynamo Kyiv. Please can the database be updated. Thanks.

If that is the case then you have installed it incorrectly.

As he appears in the last build ...

I will reiterate the message.

Delete ALL old Live Update Files.
Copy across all new files inside the zip and the files inside the folder in the zip.
Ensure you are playing with update 16.3 Winter Update version.
Other update files might cause conflict, only additional files recommended is the real name fix file.
Start a new game.

There is no issue with England and Spain not being available to be loaded up. If this is the case you have done something wrong, it is not the updates fault. Follow the instructions in the FAQs or what has been suggested above.

FM15 didn't have many promotions and relegation's done. We don't tend to update it. Yes it is built like FM16 update but we are working solely on FM16 for now.
