We need people to be adding the “Date Contract Signed” field when making a transfer otherwise this won't work.

If it's not there it will have to default to the date of the submission which may not be accurate.

To be clear to those tagged, this discussion is about creating an alternative data update where all the players have a future transfer set and don't move until that date rather than being moved instantly. In order for it to work, the date of the transfer needs to be included in the submission. It's currently labelled as “Date Contract Signed” which doubles as “Date Joined” when also changing the club.

@barteq85 woops the FM21 version wasn't meant to be released yet, that was an accident, it doesn't include all the base file changes from FM22.

It should be included in the next update released in 4 hours time.

Hey @ZVEZDA91 would you mind if we bundled this with our Data Update so each time people download that they get this as well?

I can confirm that @RealSmokePL did not steal this work, i've compared the two and they're completely different and i've now warned @szymanski9966 because you should be very, very sure before throwing around those sorts of accusations.

In the editor you can load up the file and export as XML and then put it into any text comparison tool to see similarities.

File > Load Editor Data > *select fmf* > File > Export > *save as xml*

Fantasy Super Cups

Fantasy Super Cups are a way to add something fun to the game without drastically altering the game world. Similar to the Community Shield in England, Super Cups occur between the winners of two other competitions.

Anglo Cup: England vs Scotland - Winners of the English Premierships and FA Cups play each other at the end of the season.

So I did a holiday save 10 years into the future to see how things would go, unfortunately there's been very little change at the top.

However Cove Rangers have done okay with two promotions to League 1 and narrowly missing out on a third promotion to the Championship

And even more impressive than that has been Darvel who've made it all the way from the 7th tier to the 3rd, only to drop back down to 4th.

The biggest drop seems to be Cowdenbeath who went all the way down to the 5th tier before pulling themselves back up again.

You just need Steam (or whatever you're using) up to date.

It should also be obvious when you're on sortitoutsi that these managers weren't at those clubs when editing the forms or browsing as well.

This only deals with player movements, like transfers. Then plan is to include the FM21 Update here but it hasn't been done yet

Our Collaborative Data Update for FM22 is now live!

As always we welcome anyone to contribute and you can find out how by reading our contribution guide.

Right now the only changes are the switcheroo between Steven Gerrard, Dean Smith, Aston Villa, Norwich and Rangers.

Over the coming days our fantastic team will begin making a whole host of changes and you can download a new update every morning from around 4:30am UK time.

If you're not familiar our Data Update is totally unique in that anyone can log in and submit transfers, this means it's the biggest and most accurate Update around. It's also the most frequently updated with daily releases. Check back before you start a save and you'll always have the most up to date data possible.

This guide will walk you through how to make changes to the sortitoutsi data update.

Incase you didn't know the update is entirely collaborative. Hundreds of people contribute changes every year using our online editor. When you submit a change a moderator has to come and approve your change, once it's approved it will then automatically be included in the next version of our update.

I'll now show you how to contribute a change by transferring Steven Gerrard from Rangers Manager to Aston Villa Manager. Obviously that's out of date now, but it's just an example! Alternatively if you prefer watching videos to reading, you might want to check out this Youtube Video instead.

When you visit the Data Update Page on the right hand side you'll see options to "Search" or "Browse".

If you know what you're looking for you can easily search, e.g. here i'm searching for "Steven Gerrard". Simply click the result you want to be taken to the person's profile:

 

Alternative you can browse via nation, league and team. This way you can start at any nation and navigate down to Steven Gerrard by going to Europe > Scotland > Premiership > Rangers > Steven Gerrard.

This is useful if you can't remember the exact spelling for a player. You could also have searched “Scotland” in the search bar to jump straight to Scotland and clicked through to Rangers that way as well.

Once on Steven Gerrard's profile you're going to want to find the “Edit Data” button

 

Click this and you'll be greeted with a form with lots of fields which you can edit.

In our case we're looking to change 3 fields:

• Team Contracted To = Aston Villa
• Date Contract Expires = 30/06/2025
• Data Contract Signed = 11/11/2022

Simply use the search box like normal and you should see the form change from this:

Now we don't want to edit any of the fields (reserved for future transfers and loans and such) so just scroll past those until you find the “description” and “proof” fields.

These are very important fields. You're going to want to briefly describe the change you've made in English, in our case this is easy we can just say something like “Transferred Steven Gerrard from being manager of Rangers to being manager of Aston Villa”.

The next field is the “proof”. Here you need to provide a URL that proves that the change you've made reflects real life. Please use an official such as the official news article from Aston Villa. Alternatively places like transfermarkt.com are great because it's really to see the players basic details without having to read a wordy article.

In our case it seems obvious to link to the official Aston Villa website since it gives proof that it happened. However alternatively we might want to link to a news article that has more info, such as this one which has details about the length of his contract.

In our case I think the best thing to do would be link to the official announcement and then add a comment with the extra details.

So now this is what our form looks like:

Now what you're going to want to do is hit the big blue “SUBMIT” button, to submit your change.

Now you should see something like this:

A description of your change has been automatically generated based on what you entered. Anyone can also click the “proof” link on the right hand side to check the link to proof you submitted.

The “pending” icon indicates that a moderator must come and approve your change before it's added, don't worry this usually happens within a few hours 🙂

Now I mentioned earlier it would be worth adding an extra comment. You can comment on any person within the DB just look for the “Add Comment” button:

You can join in the discussion about any person or any change anywhere in the DB this way.

Alternatively you could help out as a moderator yourself. It's even easier than submitting your own changes! Whenever a moderator sees a change labelled as pending they can quickly accept or reject it using a dropdown, it only takes a few seconds to read the proof and verify the change is correct. If you'd like to join our mod team send us an application although it's best if you have a history of submissions first so it's clear you know what you're doing.

And that's it. When the data update is next built (once a day in the early hours of the morning UK time) your changes will be included and you can download them from the main data update page.

I looked into this and decided not to but I can't remember why.

I think possibly we should have a special squad number tool rather than having to individually edit and approve every individual. It would be annoying to edit every premier league player for instance and for a mod to moderate all those changes.

This has been updated with data from the latest 22.1.1 update.

The plan is to use this as a base file with our FM22 update on top allowing people to continue playing FM21 if they wish.

It remains to be seen whether we can achieve this though, we've failed in the past!

352 new officials have been imported now if anyone was waiting on that…
