I should explain, I used to just get all my downloads from this site and 'lurked' in the forums for a while before I actually made an account, so thats how I remember him.

Anyway squad numbers have been announced. No room for Adebayor or Lennon so I suppose they are off. I'm being optimistic and hoping we have another player coming in soon as the number 7 shirt hasn't been claimed.

Southampton won't be struggling with relegation in the league. So perhaps Koeman is thinking they could try win the Europa League and thus get Champions League football. Probably the only way as they're probably still well behind the big 4/6.

Which is exactly why West Ham should've played a strong team.

Well he wouldn't be putting out a strong team in the qualifiers if he didn't want to go far in the competition, so i'd imagine he will field a pretty strong team for the playoff round too.

He's Argentina's first choice, he can't be that bad.

That doesn't really mean much though. Its not like Argentina have got many decent keepers around, although i'm sure Geronimo Rulli will push for the starting spot sometime in the near future.

Romero will be our new first choice.

If your defending is the same as it was last season then you lot will be letting in goals for fun. Romero was only a backup keeper at Sampdoria to Emiliano Viviano who himself was like third choice behind Szczesny and Fabianski for Arsenal a couple of years ago.

Its certainly not ideal! Obviously little said about behind closed door friendlies but it doesn't seem the right prep for the new season especially with Spurs facing United on the opening day!

We are obviously getting paid a lot of money to appear in this tournament and in the MLS All Star game and thats all Daniel Levy is bothered about. Its all about the £££ for him.

Yep, it'll probably be against AC Milan. We've had a couple of behind closed doors friendlies against Southend and Brentford at our training center as well but thats it. This is an example of how not to prepare for a season. Its going to be a long and horrible season, can honestly see us finishing 8th-10th.

Anyone got any predictions/thoughts for the season ahead?

Arsenal should be able to do it this year, they are the only ones that have improved on what appears to be a settled squad. If they were to go out and get someone like Higuain or Benzema then for me they would be clear favourites.

Chelsea have only signed a backup goalie and a badly out of form striker and I don't believe that anyone can afford to stand still like they seem to be doing, even if they are the champions. If Mourinho can get Falcao firing though, then they could cause mayhem with him, Hazard and Costa if its possible to get all 3 on the pitch together.

Man Utd will need time to gel with all the new faces that have come in over the last 12 months so they may have a few slip ups here and there.

I don't rate Pellegrini too much and still think Man City lack another good center back to go with Kompany. Aguero must stay fit for them to have any chance again, although it wouldn't surprise me if they go out for another striker before the window closes.

As for everyone else, I reckon Swansea and Stoke could push on a bit and challenge for Europa League places.

Aston Villa and Norwich to go down with either Watford or ~~West Ham~~ Leicester.
