As has Assaidi, at least tonight anyway. I admire a manager thats willing to give youth a chance.

Yeah Assaidi has been good in the Europa League games, hopefully see Yesil come on as well in a minute

Oh, I hadn't seen that. Makes sense. Are there many other big names looking to win the Giro?

Will be the usual suspects i imagine, Joaquim Rodriguez, Ivan Basso, Ryder Hesjedal. Wiggins will probably go into it as favourite though.

KL, do you think Sky will go with Froome as the team leader now that the route has been announced? I can't see Wiggins being able to match Contador and Schleck in the mountains.

Wiggins has already said hes focusing on winning the Giro next year and will be at the Tour in a support role for Froome.

I've just finished a 4 years bachelors degree in Computing, and 3/4 of my class didn't have access to broadband, so you may be surprised

Alot of your classmates probably wont stay in Ireland though i dont imagine, they'll go where the jobs are.

It's not a question of money, it's just the infrastructure isn't in place

Im not saying a question of money but most people who buy the new iMac are going to be the usual lot who buy them (designers, photographers etc) and they dont tend to be based in rural Ireland.

There's also plenty of other options out there for people who need an optical drive desperately.

Yes, but around 40% of Ireland doesn't actually have broadband.

When the floppy was removed, there was alternatives. While the DVD might be dying, Blu-Ray still needs an optical drive.

Other All-In-One computers don't cost over €1500 for the basic models.

The Fusion Drive feature on the iMacs is very impressive, I have to admit but making it a bit thinner and removing an optical drive doesn't justify the price (compared to previous models)

Maybe im just being flippant but if you dont have broadband then chances are you wouldn't be buying a iMac anyway.

Use it in work to burn projects to DVD's to be sent off to clients.

I'll also use it to rip CD's etc. I don't think it's fair on those who don't have a fast internet connection, I'm sure there's the argument that most games/music/movies etc can be bought and downloaded online, but most of Ireland doesn't have the broadband capabilities for that so actually buying games and music on physical media is much handier.

Surely it makes more sense to include the drive and have everyone happy (minority has their drive, majority still don't use it) than to leave it out and make a good few people unhappy.

And don't suggest an external drive, you can't expect to pay >1500 quid for a desktop computer and still have to buy what should be basic items

Its just not a basic item anymore though thats the thing, no ones forcing anyone to buy it anyway

Still doesn't change the fact that it's a desktop and using the fact that it's so thin as a feature is stupid.

Also, the base of it is the same size it always was, so it's not even saving room on your desk

Plus there is no optical drive, which is a very strange move

Not that strange really, not used a disk in my iMac for best part of a year.

Nah it doesn't the bulge at the back is no bigger than the one on the current gen, its still vastly thinner than the one you can buy atm. Looks really nice but not really what i need. Probably going to get the iPad Mini and sell my current iPad, been looking at getting a new tablet seeing as mines the first gen.

Also the vast amounts of effort required, its probably no more prevalent than doping in other sports but it just gets alot more press.

Tour route is announced today but its already been leaked, got 2 stages at least which i will be going to see. The last stage into Paris will be amazing, set to finish at 9pm.

The problem is that a lot of the people that get in 'uproar' about things like twitter abuse really just do not understand the internet.

Makes me cringe whenever I hear the news go on about 'trolling'

Problem is if nothing is done about it then it just gives the impression that its acceptable and it clearly isn't.
