Welcome to FMTV! FMTV is a new project aimed at helping people discover FM Content on YouTube. If you're a fan of FM use the links to find content organised in handy categories. If you're a creator you can add your videos to get access to an admin panel allowing you to categorise each video. Creators will need to login and categorise each video after it's uploaded. We're also looking for moderators to volunteer and help organise the app.
Here's a resync version of the famous 1979 NASL National Conference Championship second game between the Vancouver Whitecaps and New York Cosmos.
The original video suffered from huge audio-video sync problems, as well as bizarre digitization errors made by whoever owned the original video tape. Most periods of syncing issues came after the original video tape was paused.
Based on the errors that were present, I suspect that the mistakes came in the digitization process and that the original videotape is likely synced just fine.
The sync isn't perfect. However, the on-camera commentary now lines up correctly, the crowd follows the action more closely, there is no more repetitive video (clearly an error during the digitization process), and a bizarre 10 second gap in the middle of the video has been taken out. This is probably as close to the original broadcast as we're going to get.
I trimmed out a few segments that contained copyright music. None of the game is missing.
