Janmaat with an idiotic first half too

Need 3 more.

Elsewhere, Spurs have thrown away a 2-0 lead at home to Stoke, Norwich have been wiping the floor with Sunderland, and Leicester are beating West Ham.

Good win for Leicester though and excellent start for Ranieri. Hope they continue to do well under him. Great away wins for Everton and Norwich too. Sunderland look poor and, speaking of Big Sam, wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up there around Christmas time.

Janmaat was shite, but I thought the midfield three just didn't work today. Wijnaldum was anonymous, Anita seemed not to do anything overly productive, and Colback seemed to be just running. Hopefully they gel, as with Mbemba and Colo.
Ninja
There's been plenty of positives so far this season, we look a hell of a lot more solid at the back and the midfield looks compact and solid too, but I think we're going to really struggle to score goals.
Sam
Probably sooner if Advocaat doesn't get in players before the window shuts.
Shola
Fletcher, Defoe, Rodwell, Cattermole, M'Vila, Lens, Johnson, Giaccherini and possibly Alvarez too. All expensive signings.

I still rate Rooney very, very highly. Keeping him up top and him scoring a goal will kick start his season imo.

We'll be grand We'll just win every game 1-0.

Congratulating the referee for his excellent performance in assisting Swansea. Hope him and Mike Jones go out for drink after the game. Top pals. He left out how Montero, Naughton, Gomis and Taylor could have been sent off in his review of Mike Jones' performance.

Anyway remind me how Riviere is the player Newcastle must sign. Or whatever football expert Skacel thinks?

One more thing, it would be good if half the team weren't playing out of position.
Haha yeah, because he is totally going to talk about how his own players could've been sent off Also I don't see how Monk is, in your eyes, lucky. I'd say he is doing a decent job. Maybe you're just bitter, I don't know.
Sam
They have, but I just refer to Advocaat asking the board for more signings, if he doesn't get his wish I can see him leaving.
Hopefully this season I get my wish of Sunderland going down, the fuckers.
Shola
Yeah that's my point. Don't. Best not to claim other teams try to kick you off the park, because it makes you look like an arrogant prick. Especially when that would mean Monk would have to take responsibility for Montero diving, Gomis studding Haidara, Taylor scissor tackling Mitrovic and Naughton kicking the ball away. The ref's decision to ignore these incidents were presumably 'spot on'. I say ignore he booked Mitrovic for getting scythed down, and also give him a stern talking to when Cork fouled him....

Always reckons teams who play 'nice football' get more favourable refereeing. Coyle's Bolton and Di Matteo's West Brom spring to mind.

In terms of yesterday, its too easy to slag off Janmaat for his performance, but he was shite even before his idiotic dismissal. No out-and-out back-up/competition in that position is clearly going to be a problem. I only saw the first 50 or so minutes (browser problems made it barely watchable) but also agreed the midfield didn't function properly at any point, and it sounded even more disjointed when Sissoko limped off, while I don't know if Wijnaldum and Anita actually did anything. The stats show we only had a third of possession in the entire game and managed 4 shots all game, and clearly we don't have the players to do anything productive with that.
Obviously still 36 games to go, but bit worrying the away day malaise and ill discipline from the last year and a half hasn't subsided yet.
Sunderland is a weird one. They've signed 5 players this summer (well, four + Coates) on big wages and a couple of big fees but arguably needed to sign a whole new squad, and I think Dick Advocaat wanted substantially more than what he's got. God knows they've still got some colossal duffers, especially in defence.
The weird thing is how many of their fans already seem resigned to being relegated, based on both these two games and an appalling pre-season.

I dunno how long it'll take Ashley and charnley to realise you can't get away with 1 senior player per position

I'm the same, feels weird supporting City, but love to see Mourinho lose the plot after a defeat.
